Quality of Service
Not that I'm saying my dress wasn't lovely CAUSE IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, but I realized afterwards there were a few things that I wish I prepared myself for the day of the wedding. First let me mention, I was referred to Michelle by my husband who knew her from an old co-worker (baby's mama's cousin's aunty's ex-husband twice removed.. haha jk). I personally thought the price she was charging was way more than what I was expecting to spend on any wedding dress, but my husband encouraged me and said "When will you get this chance to have a custom wedding dress?" and comparing her to other seamstress/designers, I guess she was giving me a great price. So, I gave in. She lived in LA (7 hours away from me) so she flew a few times to see me (as she visited her fam/friends nearby) and each time she was very friendly and quick with design suggestions and any ideas for my wedding dress. We definitely both connected for the overall design which was exciting. I was satisfied early on and knew I was in good hands. A few things that she had me do on my own (since she lived in LA) was pick and pay for my own materials that she didn't have (she provided the dress material). I had lace that I wanted on my bodice area and on the bottom of my dress and spent a LOT of money on it at this fabric store and had to send it to her via airmail. Overall, I saw her 4 times and about two weeks before the wedding she sent me my dress in the mail. This was one of the parts that sorta made me feel bummed. She sent me my dress in the mail in a big brown box that was filled with foam peanuts. Althought it was a bummer that I had to spend over $60 to get it professionally steamed (even though she suggested I can iron it on low myself, but to be safe I took it to a dry-cleaner), the dress fit me SEXY! I truly loved it. Unfortunately, anything can happen in two weeks and by the time wedding day came I was a little slimmer in the waist and back which caused my sweetheart top to (almost) constantly slip down as I walked or moved my body up and down. Also, she didn't bother putting one of those train hooks (I had a small train) on my dress so that it wouldn't drag at the reception or while I was dancing. My mother-in-law pointed that out. I had to hold my train end the whole night basically (it was super trashed by the end of the night). It would have been awesome if she was local so that I could call her to make last minute fixes. Overall, she is an awesome designer, a very kind and understanding person, good to work with as far as wedding dress decor and style go, and I would definitely reccommend her services if I lived in LA.
