Thank goodness for Sue at Mill Avenue Travel. We contacted Sue to book our honeymoon trip to St. Lucia at one of the Sandals resort. She was great with setting everything up, booking airfare etc. When our original airfare decided to cancel the flight, she made sure we had a comparable one booked. The best thing she did for us was encourage us to purchase travel insurance.

When we arrived at our Miami hotel at 10:30pm the night prior to leaving for St. Lucia, we had discovered Sue had left us an urgent note to contact her. We found out a hurricane had hit St. Lucia and all of a sudden our honeymoon plans starting crumbling apart. Because of Sue and our travel insurance (thank goodness we listened to the expert on this one!), we were able to change our honeymoon to a Sandals resort in the Bahamas and didn't miss a beat. Sue was in constant contact with us, which calmed the craziness I was feeling (and I'm sure my new husband was relieved). The airlines even took care of our baggage fees on the way to the Bahamas.

If we had booked this trip on our own, we would have been up a creek without a paddle. I most definitely would not have purchased travel insurance and our honeymoon would not have turned out to be the amazing trip it was.

We will definitely be using Sue again.

I contacted Mill Avenue Travel to plan my honeymoon and worked with Sue Doyle. We planned an eight-night trip to Costa Rica, with two different destinations in the country, and several tours. We relied on the agency's recommendations for accommodations and had them book all of our flights, hotels, tours and transfers. Upon our arrival, we found that they had not booked or delivered our payment for one of our hotels and several of our excursions. The hotel did not have any record of us or the prepayment that was supposed to have been delivered by the tour company and we were put into a room with two double beds directly facing the street. I had to spend time on MY honeymoon making calls and sending emails to our tour companies to make new reservations and pay (again) for tours we were supposed to already be booked on. When I emailed Mill Avenue Travel regarding the challenges we were having, I was simply told to pay for whatever didn't get booked and that I'd be reimbursed when I returned. I was told that we had received an upgrade at the second hotel we were booked at, but upon arrival I was told the upgrade would cost an extra charge each day. The hotels we were booked at were not quiet or romantic and definitely not what my husband and I had requested for our honeymoon accommodations. This was a lackluster honeymoon and absolutely NOT worth the money that we paid to the travel agency for this trip. Beyond reimbursing us for paying twice for certain items, Mill Avenue Travel has not offered any type of compensation for the lack of service we received from them. I would NOT recommend Mill Avenue Travel for any type of travel, and especially not for your honeymoon. Had I known now what would happen on my honeymoon, I never would have bothered using a travel agent and I will definitely never use one again.

I am very sorry that your honeymoon did not live up to your expectations. The last thing I want is for you to have had problems on this very important trip.

The Costa Rican tour company that I used for your trip (who had always performed well for us in the past) made a mistake on your arrival date. So, while your accommodations were prepaid, there was confusion at check-in until the hotel located the payment. Once they sorted this out they moved you to the room you had booked. For the same reason, two short tours were booked incorrectly. While you were able to take the tours, I was not able to arrange a second payment from this end at the last minute. So, of course, I reimbursed you immediately upon your return. Based on your valuable feedback, we have switched to a different tour company for all our Costa Rica bookings.

I am distressed that the hotels were disappointing. I did my best to find hotels in your price range. These properties should have been acceptable in their category, but from your description they fell short. I will, of course, keep your review in mind before recommending them again. I appreciate your feedback and am sorry that you were unhappy.

We decided to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I felt that with the stress of planning the wedding that having a travel agent take care of the honeymoon would work best for us. We found Sue at Mill Ave. Travel, they specialize in Hawaii trips. She was so very helpful with suggestions and found us some great deals. She found us a 4 star hotel in our 2 star budget, a much nicer place that we could have found on our own. She even let us know that activities that we wanted to do would be cheaper if we booked them on our own. I found that the agent fees to be very reasonable considering all the research she did to help make our honeymoon the best. We will continue to see her for our future travel plans.

I have worked with them for many years and they just took care of an anniversary trip. Lets see - an bound flight broke a windshield so we had to find a new flight, the airline were of no help so we called Sue and LEah. We were book on a new flight leaving with in 2 hours, not to the exact same destination but within 100 miles and had a new rental car reservation and car waiting when we arrived. Lets see - an bound flight broke a windshield so we had to find a new flight, the airline were of no help so we called Sue and LEah.
