About Mitchell's Catering and EventsCraig W. Mitchell founded Mitchell’s Catering Company in 1979. His mission was to become the Triangle’s premier caterer of exceptional cuisine, service and ambience.
That mission has been largely accomplished.
Craig knew that his attention to detail, excellence and his caring, proficient attitude put people at ease, which in turn, helped create pleasurable events. This philosophy, coupled with growing reputation for renowned cuisine, has earned the loyalty and trust of generations of North and South Carolinians.
This small company began offering exclusive catering from the founder’s home facility until 1985, when all operations were consolidated at Falls Village in North Raleigh, which now includes Mitchell’s Gourmet Market & Bakery.
Since then, the style and talents of Principal David Casteel invigorated our vision and scope with Mitchell’s Catering & Events, broadening the scope and production of cutting-edge parties along with creating notable events in Charlotte and venues throughout the Carolinas and Virginia.
The glue that holds the company’s expanding operations in concert came a few years later with Principal Bill Allen. As Director of Operations, Bill turned attention to detail into a near scientific-art form, orchestrating staff, logistics and nonstop client special requests to the nines.
Mitchell’s Catering & Events now operates from its 22,000 square foot facility which houses kitchens, offices, a showroom, and Event Gallery rental space.
