I was recommended to Nelda's by my bridal salon as they didn't do in-house alterations. I was so disappointed with how my dress, the one wedding dress I ever get to wear in my life, turned out. I purposely ordered my dress too big. After my first fitting, they took it in so much that it wouldn't zip. Then I went in for my "final fitting" and they hadn't even attempted to let it back out. The lady doing my alterations even asked me if I was on my period. Like her mistake was my body's fault! Every time I went back in they had forgotten to do at least one or two things from the list from the time before. I ended up going back in for 3 fittings after my final fitting and they even had to do a couple more things after I had left for the last time. Because they had taken it in too much, they had to lower the back and put on a new hook. Well, minutes after I put on my dress on my wedding day, the hook broke/bent and the entire area continued to come apart the entire night. This created a domino effect of sag (since the dress is low back) which made me look heavier in all of my photos and the fabric looked bunched and cheap in all of my photos as a result. The worst and most heartbreaking part for me was not just the way it looked, but the time and energy I spent worrying about it on my wedding day. Taking a deep breath before my first look with my husband and hearing a rip. Using the time in between my Ceremony and family photos not to celebrate with my husband and wedding party, but having to have my bridesmaids attempt to get a safety pin where the hook should be. Spending so much time trying to fix my dress that we had significantly less time for photos. Having said safety pin bust during the Hora, going straight into cake cutting, and had the safety pin stabbing into my back the whole time. Not only does my dress look bad in the photos as a result of the poor alterations job they did, but I will never get these memories back. DON'T get your wedding dress altered here!

Horrible experience with alterations of my daughter's wedding dress. Had to go back 3 times, the last appointment 3 days before wedding. The customer service from day one was horrible. Felt rushed, establishment was dirty and seamstress did not make correct alterations each time we visited. No one was helpful when my daughter was attempting to get in to her dress and there was a total lack of professionalism. In retrospect, we should have taken the dress to another recommended tailor who was more pricey, but had excellent reviews .

my dress needed very little alterations and they did an excellent job. They got it back super fast without an extra fee but it was pricey, however, i think this is just the cost of alterations for wedding/ stuff.

I found Nelda's tailoring by way of YELP and they received good reviews there. I took my wedding dress there for altering. They did a pretty good job of making it look good on me. I had 4 visits and on the last took it home. They are very professional and know what they are doing. They were a little pricey which was hard for this bride on a budget but the end results helped ease the pain. I do recommend them to others.

We arrived at Nelda's in a panic due to a botched tailoring job. Three days before the wedding, she met with me daily, staying late, to ensure that my dress was ready for my wedding. Anita instantly spotted what was wrong with the dress and went to work fixing it. On Friday, when I put it on, it was perfect!

My fittings were always pleasant, not rushed. The dressing rooms at the location were a bit small for putting on a bridal gown with all the required accessories. The tailor was always careful to put a large white sheet on the floor to protect the gown and had large mirrors so you could easily view the whole gown, both front and back. She was professional and courteous and insisted on brides bringing foundation garments and shoes to ensure a proper fitting. As a seamstress myself, I was impressed that she was adamant on this policy and would not budge. Other brides who don't understand the importance of proper foundation garments might take her the wrong way (and those are the brides who complain that their dresses are improperly hemmed because they refused to bring the proper shoes to the fitting and so have no reason to gripe!).

My only complaint comes in the form of the actual quality of the work. I needed to have the side seams let out a bit and had a complicated back yoke that needed some restructuring. They did an amazing job on those, couldn't even tell the dress had been altered! What they forgot to do was restitch the lace trim on the waist where the side hems had been let out. It was very obviously hanging off, but I didn't notice it until I got the dress on for my bridal portraits. I managed to safety pin it down and it doesn't show in the pictures, fortunately. My mom had to hand-stitch it back on the day of the wedding. This was a careless mistake and sloppy work, which why I only rated them 2 1/2 stars on quality.
