We had our reception at the New England center last month, and honestly, I have mixed feelings. Before making our deposit in July, the coordinator was nothing but helpful. She met with me on short notice and answered all of the questions I had thouroughly. Once we were hooked, however, things started to go downhill. Most of our discussions were through e-mail and things started taking longer. At one point I sent the coordinator an extremely long and detailed e-mail and recieved nothing but a short, two sentance response. It was dissapointing, but I moved on.

I will say that they were very flexible with us. We had asked to have the room until 11 instead of 10 and were accomodated without a problem- we really appreciated that. I had a few table and guest number changes last minute and again, we were accomodated without an issue.

The food was wonderful and our guests were really pleased. The waitstaff were very pleasant.

The bridal party decided to get ready at the NEC (it is one of the perks of having the reception there). We were told that we would have snacks and whatnot in the room during this time and we didn't. It wasn't a big deal, but it was supposed to be included. A hotel room for the bride and groom is also included in your package price. We were surpised to walk in and see 2 beds and not so much as a bottle of water.

My husband and mother spent the entire morning setting up all of our centerpieces because there was no one around to help them....another thing that was promised. My family and I also had to take a lot of responsibility in breaking the room down.

The room is absolutely beautiful, and you certainly cannot take away from that. I am looking forward to getting our professional pictures in, as I know that it was a perfect backdrop.

Overall, I think that we paid too much for what recieved. It would have been one thing if we weren't promised a lot of things that never happened. If you decide to go with the NEC, expect great food and a beautiful room, but nothing more. Be very specific and demanding with what you want. Don't assume anyone will help and plan on doing a lot yourself. I don't know if this was because we were the last wedding of the season, but just be cautious.

I was so pleased with the Acorns Restaurant and the New England Center overall. It is an absolutely gorgeous setting, nestled literally in the middle of the woods. Jordyne, the event planner there, was marvelous!! She was experienced, professional and full of great ideas. They were able to accommodate every request we had, and they made our ceremony and reception the best it could possibly be.
