If you are thinking about using Nora for your wedding, really look into other photographers and INSIST that you do not pay her until you have your photos in your hands. Working with her was fine up until the day of the wedding. We paid her in full the day of the wedding in accordance with the contract and she had the check cashed before we got back from the honeymoon. I emailed her 2 months after our wedding to see when our photos would be ready. I emailed her, called her, and called Chicago Wedding Design (the number on her site). The only way I could reach her was by complaining to Chicago Wedding Design and then I would get a snippy email back from her basically telling me not to call them. This went on for about a month, then our photos went online, but only half of the pictures went up. When I tried to follow up to see when the other pictures would be up, we started the same game where she would ignore my email/phone calls/text messages and then respond only when I complained to Chicago Wedding Design. The rest of the photos went up a month later, at which point I told her I did not want her to make my photo album because dealing with her was impossible. I ordered some of the photos off the internet and then had to go through the same routine of being ignored until the discs came in the mail. Nora lied to me on 5 separate occasions, saying that she had uploaded the pictures or saying that she had put the discs in the mail when she had not. I received the discs in the mail last week and our wedding was 7 months ago. She didn't include our engagement pictures and I don't care enough to try and get them from her. Most of my friends had their photos 8 - 10 weeks after their event.

Besides the fact that working with her is awful, the photos aren't great by any means. There are several photos where the lighting is totally messed up to the point that you can't tell what color the bridesmaids dresses were, several that were really blurry, and out of the 1200 or so that were taken, at least 800 were unusable. I understand that happens when you are taking so many photos but if she was going to hold on to the photos that long you'd think she could eliminate some of the duplicates/unusable items. We did not get a single good shot of our entire wedding party. Additionally, when I did finally get the disc, there were at least 300 pictures that she never uploaded online, so she lied about that as well.

Nora is terrible to work with and a liar. We decided on her because she was about $1000 cheaper than the other photographer we were looking at, but I wish we had just paid the additional money and had a better experience and better product.

Sidenote: The women at Chicago Wedding Design were excellent to work with. They were very patient with me as I called them a number of times, they were always able to get Nora to call me back, and they were as concerned about the situation as I was. I am not sure in what way they are affiliated with Nora and I did suggest to them that they might want to cut that tie - but in any case, if you are looking for a good photographer they might be able to recommend someone better than Nora.

Nora recently photographed our wedding and did a superb job from start to finish. Our photos turned out beautiful and were exactly what we had been looking for. Her photojournalistic style truly catches the important moments of the entire day. Both Nora and her assistant were non intrusive and excellent at getting the perfect shot as the day progressed. Her website and blog show her true talent and that is what you can expect in the finished product.

Horrible wedding photographer - extremely rude and lazy. Worst customer service and I would advise any bride to STAY AWAY. Nora was very difficult to work with both prior to my wedding and after the wedding. Her communication skills are severely lacking and really does not seem to care about her clients and their happiness.

Do yourself a favor - book someone else!!!!

Nora was super laid back and fun and easy to work with, yet very professional at the same time. Her photojournalistic style and artistic eye offer unusual, fun and beautiful photos. She did an excellent job of becoming invisible at the wedding, but she was always there if I needed her to shoot something specific, or if I had a question or concern. Overall, I would highly recommend Nora - and her prices are very reasonable.

As of today’s date (March 23, 2011), it’s been almost three years, and we still haven’t received our wedding photos. We’ve been trying to contact Nora for the last three years but she won’t return any of our calls or emails.

My husband and I were married on May 24, 2008. We hired Nora in February of that year. At that time she had a special offer – if you paid in full, then she would throw in an extra photographer and I think like a couple hundred dollars worth of photo credit or something to that effect. Well, we went ahead and paid in full, which looking back now, perhaps we shouldn’t have because when it came time to wanting to see and receive our photos in a timely manner, we had given all of our leverage away.

In the beginning, things were going well with Nora. She kept in communication, was on time for our wedding and brought another photographer. We started to have concerns two weeks after our wedding.

She had posted our photos online (total count of 1,599 images) but she had literally done just only that – posted the photos without seeming to have gone through to put them in chronological order, delete any blurry photos or delete seeming repeats (similar images). More obvious than that, we noticed that there were only like three pictures of the reception. We emailed Nora and let her know that the reception photos were missing and if she could take the time to put them in chronological order.

She responded by posting the reception photos but we noted that she had removed some of the wedding photos because the total count of images was still 1,599, and the images were still out of order.

When asked about this, she said she would post all photos and in order. Two months later, nothing changed. And still, some of the photos posted were duplicates/similar and/or blurry.

Now remember, we did pay her in full, right from the start, but now wedding season was in full swing. So we surmised that she wasn’t prioritizing us anymore because she was busy with other couples and well, as I said, we had given all our leverage away – she had all our money and our wedding photos. There was no reason for her to rush or provide quality service.

Thankfully, though, we had paid with our credit card via PayPal. We contacted Nora to let her know that we were considering filing a BBB report and reversing the credit card charges. We didn’t hear from her (her communication with us had already started to lessen). So we made the decision by the end of July to go ahead and have the credit card charges reversed.

Well, that got her attention right away, and she was obviously not pleased.

Her response via email (seems to be her preferred mode of communication) was, "If I am not going to get paid then that makes me less motivated to spend more time, money, and energy on your pictures."

Obviously this response didn’t make a lot of sense to us since we had paid her in full before and that didn’t seem to encourage her to work on our pictures. And, in reality, we actually still want to pay her because in the end, we just want our photos.

Initially, my husband and I were still trying to negotiate for the disk of photos and the wedding album by saying we would pay half when we received the disk and then the other half when we received the album, but her inconsistent communication, if any, forced us to make things simple – we now only want the disk of all photos at an agreed amount of $750. We offered to pay half up front and the other half when we received the disk. Nora, however, wanted to be paid with a cashier’s check in full right from the start, which we didn’t feel comfortable with – that was around December 2008. She stopped returning our calls and emails completely after that. However, we still continue to try.

You’re probably wondering why we’re writing a review now…like why didn’t we write it earlier? I guess when you’re in the midst of conflict, you’re just trying hard to resolve it, and in the meantime, life still continues (e.g.: we bought a house, moved, etc.). Also, we’re not big on negativity, so I guess we were hoping we wouldn’t have to go this route.

Also, we’ve had a baby since then, so life’s been pretty hectic. And now, in the end, we just want the disk of photos for our daughter. This whole process has been/is frustrating and infuriating, and we believe we’ve maintained our professionalism in our communications with her (we still have all our emails to/with her). We’ll continue to hope and try, though. We’ll update this post if anything changes.
