The Omni Hotel did an absolutely amazing job. I could not be more happy with the quality of service they were able to provide. Deana, the wedding coordinator, is fantastic! She was very helpful and patient in working with me and my mother planning our wedding. All of our guests were blown away by the service and quality of the hotel and reception. Prior to the event, the sent out an email to the guests asking if there was anything else they could do to make their stay more comfortable. My brother, thinking it was an automated message that would receive no attention, write that he would like a bag of skittles and a poem about dinosaurs (he was only kidding). Upon arrival, my brother was blown away to find a bag of skittle and a short poem about dinosaurs! We were all in stitches and could not believe it! This is simply one example of how the Omni went above and beyond to meet our requests and to make our day special for everyone involved!

Noise Problems the night before my wedding!!

My experience with the Omni was unfortunately quite negative. We had a large wedding block there for Columbus Day weekend (our wedding was on Sunday), where about half of our guests were staying, in addition to us-the bride and groom. With rooms at $229 plus tax per night, the Omni was making quite a lot of money from our block, so I will say my expectations were high.

Upon check-in, the front desk was initially unable to locate our bride/groom room in the system for a few minutes, and it seemed a bit chaotically organized. This is not the kind of start you want the day before your wedding, when you need to get ready for a rehearsal dinner and are anxious about everything going as planned. They did bring up chocolate covered decorative strawberries to our room, which was a wonderful welcome, but due to the rush I didn't get to enjoy them.

Also, many of our guests arrived early Saturday, and though we realize it is not guaranteed, the majority were unable to check in early, and ended up having to cart all their belongings to our afternoon rehearsal and then rush back to unpack before dinner. (In comparison, our other hotel block, the lower budget English Inn, gave a fabulous experience to guests and did end up checking almost everyone in early even though they too were fully booked)

Our bride/groom room was in the corner of the hotel - quite tiny without much room to walk or get ready, and oddly shaped. Though I can see how someone could view it as intimate and romantic given the fancy pillows and curtains in it.

Our biggest problem with the Omni manifested after we got home from the rehearsal dinner to find that there was massive partying noise outside our windows-not sure if this was from the Omni or nearby bars/restaurants. We called down to the front desk in the middle of the night to ask them to move us to a different room, but they said they were fully booked and had no where to move us. I am surprised that they don't even leave one room available in case of emergencies. This was one of the most important nights of my life I needed sleep. I tried to fall asleep, but found it impossible even with the ear plugs I had brought. I was so afraid that we wouldn't get sleep before our wedding day, but we were hopeful that the noise would eventually die down. However, after much frustration and anxiety, and no change, my husband finally went down to the front desk to see where the noise was coming from and check if the Omni could mitigate it. Meanwhile, I called and woke my brother to see if he would switch rooms with us, and he said he would. He was located in a different part of the building with a beautiful view of the atrium and said all was quiet there. I called down to the front desk to ask them to tell my husband to return. The man who answered said he didn't see anyone down there and basically laughed at me for asking. My husband came up a few minutes later saying he was in the lobby and talked to the front desk, so wasn't sure why they couldn't locate him. He was the only guest there. In any case, we quickly switched rooms with my brother and thankfully caught some good hours of sleep before getting up for our busy and beautiful wedding day.

The next morning, we did find a note slipped under the door from the Omni apologizing for the noise and saying they were going to take as much action as possible to mitigate it. As my brother could sleep through a circus - I'm not sure if they eventually did. My brother, not the Omni, saved our wedding day.

We really enjoyed our rehearsal dinner at the Omni in Charlottesville. They were extremely flexible and helpful as we tried to find a menu that met our taste, budget, and dietary needs. The food was delicious and the room looked great.

Could not have picked a more perfect location for our wedding! Sara and the staff were top notch and beyond! We were so thrilled to work with her and they were super nice and flexible for our big event. Everything was perfect. The Atrium space made our morning ceremony so special with the fresh sunlight and plants all around. They were so accommodating for all our needs and it really made our wedding the highlight of the summer for all of our family and friends.
