If you are looking for a great photographer go with these guys! They really know how to capture special moments. Our pictures turned out both playful and elegant. A lot of my friends and family have gone with these guys and loved their work as well. So many candid shots, moments that could have easily slipped by, were captured as if they knew in advance they were going to happen.
We all had a great time and they were really fun to work with. They made our whole experience stress-free. We had a few people tell us that our photos look like something straight out of a magazine! :)
When I look back at my photos of my wedding day... I feel as if I'm inside the moment experiencing my wedding all over again.

Our first interaction with On Edge Photography was the photographers (husband and wife couple) showing up 15 minutes late to our scheduled appointment, without calling us "because they left our phone number at home". This was the first example of their lack of attention to detail. I will also add that the husband didn't say hi to us, let alone introduce himself to us.

I regret not listening to my gut and continuing to search for a wedding photographer, but my daughter liked the sample pictures we were shown so we moved forward.

Next came the engagement pictures. There were several where you could see the top of the back drop. In my opinion, photographers who call themselves professional should have noticed that and edited it before we ever saw it. They promised the photos by a certain date and did not meet that deadline. My daughter had to email and call several times before the pictures were online to view.

So, late for our first appointment and not meeting a deadline for the 2nd interaction.

She asked if there were special photos we wanted taken at the wedding. I emailed a very specific list of the desired pictures to her. They only captured about 1/3 of them. When asked about it she wrote, and I quote "Bottom line...weddings are not easy to shoot and not easy to remember every single detail you wanted us to shoot." I have 2 thoughts about that. 1.) if weddings aren't easy to shoot, get out of the business and 2.) I didn't think I needed to rely on her memory. There is still pencil and paper to help her remember -or computers. Plus, if I had known they were relying on their memory I would have followed them around all day to make sure we got the desired photos. Weddings are a once in a lifetime event. You don't get do-overs. When you are running a business you need to be more organized than relying on your memory.

Very, very little editing was done before they released the wedding pictures to us. And, little attention was paid to details. For instance, I assumed that my daughter's train would be straightened in the posed pictures, after all there were 2 "professional" photographers there. It wasn't straightened in many of the pictures. Her train is just a puddle at her heels. Photos were taken in a hotel room before the wedding. I asked the photographer if the stuff on the bed (garment bags, etc) would be in the pictures. She said no, that it would be just fine. Well, it wasn't just fine - the hotel curtains, air conditioner, lamp, wall decorations, messy bed, etc. were all in the pictures. They didn't make any attempt to fix these photos before presenting them to us. These are the bulk of the individual posed pictures we have of our daughter on her wedding day and there is hotel junk in them. There is a steamer in the pictures of the bride putting on her father's boutineer. I asked for quite a few pictures to be fixed somehow. I don't think that I should have had to do the work to tell them which pictures needed editing. I think, as professionals, they should have been able to figure this out on their own. Isn't that their job? She agreed to fix the pictures and, again, she didn't keep her promised deadline. I followed up with her a few times. I called him twice. My voice mail messages to him specifically requested that he call me back. He didn't call me back either time. Them not meeting their deadline meant that we didn't have the photos that we wanted to give to grandparents for Christmas.

Good customer service says that you respond to your customers and that you meet your deadlines. They didn't do either.

I told her on several occasions that if the DJ or the caterer were bad it would be ok in the long run, but the pictures and the memories would be what we would have forever. This isn't to say that we didn't get some good pictures. We did. But we also had a lot of frustration.

In all of our meetings with her in their studio she had her young son on her lap. As a young child naturally does, he got squirmy, wanted her pen, grabbed at the papers, etc. This was distracting to her and to us, and quite honestly, wasn't very professional.

Beware if you choose them to do your photography. She is a very defensive woman. He is a non-responsive man. Our other daughter is getting married in October. If On Edge Photography had done a good job, we would have hired them again. I'm hoping that some day I can look at the pictures and remember the wonderful day that it was, rather than seeing the photographer's lack of attention to detail and professionalism.
