I recently used Pacific Callas for wedding table flowers. Did everything as suggested: ordered sample flowers months before so I could look at different colors, (Those ones arrived on time and looked great!), ordered my real wedding flowers early, and requested that they be delivered on Wed. for a Sat. event.

Unfortunately, the flowers that I ordered for my big day arrived a day late. They had not done well with extra day out of water. Browning, wilty, curly edges. Some were brittle and cracking. It was Thurs evening that I received them. I immediately sent a civil email and explained the condition they arrived in, and said I would send pictures the next morning (since it was getting dark out).

I received a response back that indicated nobody had actually read my email. (For example: "Emailing us images on Saturday when the flowers were delivered on Thursday, does not help us filing a claim with the farm," when I had clearly said I would be sending pictures on Friday.) Back-and-forth emails ensued on a very stressful day in my life, and very little sincere appreciation for my situation was ever given.

At one point, Pete said he couldn't understand why I wouldn't send the flowers back. I explained I was getting married the next day, and as such, was not interested in wasting my time, Fed Ex's fossil fuels, and Pacific Calla's money to send BAD flowers back to them on a day when I already had A LOT going on. At no point did the vendor accept any responsibility for what was happening. So I told them I would write an honest review.

At THAT point, they offered me a 35% refund, but ONLY under one condition: "I would need to get your word not to badmouth our company out there." I said I promised I would write an honest review. And what do you know...no refund.

Brides, just beware. Have a Plan B. These flowers ARE beautiful if they arrive on time. But customer service is bad, and their guarantee does not realistically work for weddings.

Find a local wholesaler to deal with. My callas appeared to be in good shape when I received them on Wednesday for a Saturday wedding. They never opened and were turning brown the day of the event.
Very disappointing! When I called in a panic on Friday, they told me to pack up the bad ones and return for a refund.
I was in the middle of prepping for a wedding...I couldn't take the time to return them. I took photos and sent them but that wasn't good enough. I had to run out last minute and buy replacements almost doubling my flower budget.

We were extremely pleased with the mini black calla lilies from Pacific Calla Lilies that we used for our New Years Eve wedding. Since I'd decided that in the grand scheme of wedding planning flowers were a low priority item for me and because I simply couldn't stomach the price gouging involved in wedding florals, I decided that we were going to do the flowers ourselves. In turn, I used the black mini callas for the bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. As a precautionary measure, I still went ahead and ordered my bridal bouquet from a florist in town (smart!).

The flowers were delivered on schedule two days before the wedding. As we knew would happen, they didn't arrive in water (and nevertheless didn't look a bit dehydrated), so the first thing we did was cut the ends and hydrate them for 24 hours in buckets in a bedroom where we closed the heat vents (it was 20* in Chicago and too cold to leave outside). After tons of YouTube watching and a little bit of practice the month before, we created all the bridesmaids bouquets (8 total), boutonnieres (13 total) and corsages (5 total). The bouquets were a huge success, the boutonnieres a mild one and the corsages a failure (although that had nothing to do with the quality of the flower and everything to do with the lack of skills we possessed in floral design). I would not hesitate to recommend Pacific Calla Lilies if you're a DIY bride. I would however caution you on making boutonnieres and corsages yourself unless you put plenty of practice in -- it is actually a lot more difficult and time-consuming than it looks.

I ordered my callas pretty far in advance, but they were right on time & the flowers were beautiful. Since they don't deliver them on saturdays, i got mine the friday before & my wedding was on a sunday. I had put the bouquets together that saturday. So by the time sunday came around, there were a few that weren't as fresh as the others ever though i had kept them refrigerated and kept the ends wet. That was the only downfall is that they couldn't send them to me on saturday. Other than that, truly impressed with the quality & how reliable they were.

WOW -- I can't say enough about this company. We are stationed overseas and I was planning a small ceremony back home in Florida. Needless to say, it was a very difficult task trying to plan such an event on another continent! We wanted a small ceremony with family and close friends, so I knew the flowers were not going to be very extravagant, but it was still important to me to have something nice.

I contacted a few florists in the area to get price quotes. One who was recommended to me was very quick to respond and was very helpful with planning, but her price was really way outside our budget and honestly I couldn't justify $300 for eight single calla lilies... So I did some research, knowing that I wanted callas for the ceremony. I read some reviews on the wedding wire and found several reviews for a company called Pacific Callas. I decided to give it a shot and am SO glad I did! I still can't believe the value of what we got. I ordered 60 mini callas, exactly the color I had wanted for $160. The website provided care instructions on how to take care of the flowers, how far in advance to order them, etc. They were FedEx'd to my sister's place exactly on time and after taking care of them per the instructions, they were absolutely stunning... I couldn't believe I got all those flowers for such a bargain. The entire process was so painless and really was no hassle at all.

I got the rest of the decorations from Michael's (vases, cake topper, decorative frame) and Ikea (table decorations: mirrors, candles, and color coordinated potpourri). For the entire decorations, I paid $240 - still less than what was quoted me originally by the florist, which was only providing the flowers and vase rentals...

Don't hesitate to use Pacific Callas. They have other flowers as well, not just callas. The service was really outstanding; if I could rate higher than a 5, I would!

Pacific Callas really came through for me in a pinch. There weren't many things that I really really had my heart set on for my wedding, but one was having dark purple mini calla lilies. My first 2 vendors fell through and I contacted Pacific Callas a few days before my wedding. The first callas I ordered were different than listed. They were gorgeous, but not what I had wanted. I contacted customer service. They worked with me to make sure I was sent exactly what I wanted. The representative even called me a few times to make sure I had chosen the correct flowers and gave me the option of holding onto the incorrect flowers and decide once they both arrived. I received amazingly beautiful purple minis, exactly what I pictured. My friend arranged them and they made for a perfect bridal bouquet! Customer service far exceeded my expectations!

Had my wedding out on the Hawaiian islands on a Monday. They shipped out the flowers the Thursday before, and by Saturday they were wilting and browning. I tried calling the company and left them a message over the weekend, and by the time I got a hold of someone (I had to call them again, no return calls) on Monday, it was too late. The girl that picks up the phone (as well as calls you to tell you that you owe more for shipping) was very callous and indifferent to my situation. I finally got her to give me the manager's information, and left him an email with a string of pictures to document the flowers wilting. I followed their exact orders and suggestions for how to receive the flowers and care for them - which was difficult to do at a hotel resort, mind you - and still the flowers began to shrivel up and die. The only credit I give to this company is that the manager was responsive and called me right away. However, the grief he gave me on the MORNING of my wedding, even to go so far as to blame me for waiting for long (WHAT?), left me completely in an angry daze the morning of and up to my wedding. So there I was, without flowers for my wedding, or to use dying, browning, flowers since no other florist in Hawaii carried Calla Lillies.

This is not a review left to sully whatever reputation they have - but instead to give Brides-to-Be a heads up. It seems like you're saving money by ordering flowers and doing them yourself the day of, but trust me - it ruined my whole day, and it consequently led me to make poor decisions (e.g., hair and makeup) throughout the day because of the distress. Pay a little extra and get flowers professionally done. It'll save you the stress of possibly not even having flowers, and rushing on the day of to do them yourself.

Pacific Callas responded with the following comments:

Dear Jisun Kim,

Pacific Callas caters to the do-it-yourself bride. We supply flowers to hundreds of brides each weekend, and our customer service team understands the unique challenges of doing your own wedding flowers. If a problem arises, the bride must communicate her problem within 24 hours after delivery (as we ship perishable goods), mainly so we are given enough time to assist her and fix the problem. This is clearly stated on our website.

Jisun Kim contacted us upon the day of the wedding (days after delivery)

We were appalled by the emails we received with no explanation of what could have happened, but simply: "please get our complete money back or: "We will tarnish your company's reputation by reaching out to all wedding websites, review sites, and blogs".

We really wished you contacted us the day of the delivery of your flowers, this would have given us the chance to make it right (either re-shipment or simply a refund) as we will always fix any issue as long as you notify us in time.
