Paul and I are two married best friends running this crazy design-print-paper business! All things stationaey surrounds us all day, everyday, and not a day goes by without us thanking God for it. I have worked on friend's invitations and card crafted for over 20 years but never took it seriously until after our wedding invitations were sent out in March 2005. The response to our invitations was amazing. We were filled with inquiries and support from all our friends and families to make the leap of faith and quit our corporate jobs to pursue this venture together. With my design background and Paul's detailed eye, in May of 2005 we launched a home based business, specializing in custom wedding stationery, that us newlyweds ran out of our garage!
Since our launch date we have had the pleasure to be a part of weddings all over the world and nationwide in the United States. Knowing that we create stationery that invites thousands of people to witness the union of couples everywhere in the world is so gratifying.
In April of 2010, we were proud to open our first retail store, Paper Crew. We now specialize in custom, unique and handcrafted paper goods, design, and cut stock. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I made the mistake of not heeding the advice of recent reviews for Paper Crew, do not do the same! You will notice that the complaints about Paper Crew across Yelp and other wedding planning sites are consistent (undelivered goods, late delivery, unresponsive to customers, etc.). The owner asks for all the money up front (even suggested it to be sent via person to person method rather than a credit - likely because you can't cancel a charge as a result of fraud with this payment method as opposed to a credit card). Once she receives the money it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get a hold of her again. There is never anyone in the store and she doesn't respond to emails or calls unless you leave a message from a different numbers saying you are interested in using her services... and then she responds immediately.

With respect to my invitation order - I ordered wedding invitations and favor tags. When I picked up the wedding invitations there were no favor tags to be found. Unfortunately I didn't realize they weren't in the box until I left the store, and she didn't feel the need to tell me my order was not complete. I quickly turned the car around and tried to catch her at the shop to let her know. Within 5 minutes she was already gone and wasn't answering my calls. When I did finally get a hold of her she apologized and blamed the paper machine, saying it was malfunctioning. Additionally, she made it seem like it wasn't a big deal that she didn't have the favor tags yet since I still had a few months until my wedding, so there was plenty of time left. So now she's supposed to be mailing them to my house directly. That due date she provided comes and goes, during which time I reached out multiple times asking for the status... no response. I finally had to threaten legal action to get a response. What a waste of time dealing with this person. Still need my favor tags.

I ordered my wedding package in 9/15 for our wedding in 3/16. When we met she was adamant that I stay to her schedule and that the pricing was based off me hitting my targets dates. NEVER once was she on time and her quality was lack luster. I had to constantly email her to get the information and proofs I needed to approve. It was a nightmare from start to finish. Below are the issues we had with Paper Crew.
My save the dates were late and cut crooked. The font she used on the address labels could not be read by the postage machines. So a majority of my guest did not receive the save the dates.
My invitations were not received until the middle of February when they were supposed to be delivered in January. I had to bug her for the proofs and by the time I got them, I was in such a rush to get them out we did not notice she dated them March ninetieth instead of nineteenth. Since we had such little time to get the invites out I needed to her to print the addresses on the envelopes and she charged me a pretty penny for that (instead of covering the costs due to her lag time) and would not send my invites to the printers to get them started until I paid for the envelope addressing. Finally she made the response card in a very dark navy card stock. Needless to say my guests had a hard time writing their responses that we could see.
Programs were a joke! My wedding planner had a great idea to make them look like a map (since we were getting married at a train station) but again Paper Crew was so late on designing them I ended up with a folded piece of paper that was printed crooked!
Thank you Notes. They were supposed to be done and delivered with my invites. As of yet I have not even received a proof for approval. I am 2 months past my wedding date and the Thank You notes are still not in my possession. I have been asking for these since January to no avail. THE WORST EXPERIENCE FOR A BRIDE. She took our money in such a sly way I am taking Chanda to court. First of all she required ALL the money up front for the invitations (red flag)than she never responded after that. I WAS FREAKING OUT TO SAY THE LEAST AS IT WAS MY WEDDING INVITATIONS HERE. I even went to her place of work for days straight and lights were of and no one there. I immediately called my bank to cancel the order so I could quickly get them done through another vendor. Once she got the alert the money was taken out of her account she agreed to deliver the invitations. After picking them up I called my bank back to cancel the fraud charges. Chanda said they never replaced the charge back and she demanded payment again. After days of harassing I finally gave her another check. After many calls to my bank they verified they indeed gave Pay Pal who then reimbursed Chanda. She denied it. I am taking her to court as she made me pay 2x for the invitations and other goods she never delivered. I wish I would have read the reviews before. It would have saved me a lot of money and stress. 3 months after my wedding and I am still dealing with this. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND MONEY. SHE IS A THIEF CON ARTIST. She will take your money then disappear. Just try and call the number listed, her voice mail is always full. And no one is ever at the shop. The shop is a front. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

The design was something I found & brought to my coordinator, but she did a great job adding additional colors & details that made them beautiful. My dissatisfaction with this vendor stems from the fact that my invitations were delivered almost two weeks late. A slight delay can be understandable; however, the situation was extremely upsetting because of the way it occurred. I paid a rush fee because I was told it was needed to order the paper I wanted in time. Originally, invitations were supposed to be delivered to my coordinator before she went on vacation. We were advised that there were some printing problems, & I agreed that the invitations could be mailed directly to me when my coordinator was gone. After 7 days, I hadn’t received any correspondence regarding when I could expect them. I emailed regarding when I could anticipate receipt. I received a general voicemail that didn’t specify when I would receive the invitations, to which I sent a follow up. I was told the second email wasn’t received (it was sent through my corporate email account – those don’t just get lost). [I advised the vendor that email was best since I was travelling and in client meetings.] I finally sent an email stating that if I didn’t receive a firm date & response that I was going to find another vendor. Miraculously, I was told my invitations would be ready for pick up the following day if I picked them up between 4 - 5 p.m. Notably, there were errors in 10% of the mailing labels, despite the fact that I had sent an updated mailing list after seeing the mailing label proof & noting that changes needed to be made. My coordinator got the vendor to refund the rush fee, but the final invoice was incorrect (2x the tax was included), & I handled revision of the incorrect labels on my own. I later asked for the name of the specific paper used so I could purchase some & print matching items, but I didn’t get a response & ended up having to find it on my own as well.

I'll start with the good - the wedding invitations Chanda designed and printed for us were absolutely lovely. I loved them and was proud to send them out. Our first meeting with Chanda was great - she was attentive and patient as my husband and I struggled to define what we wanted. Now, the negative. During our first meeting (in November) I made our budget very clear (it was admittedly small). We agreed that for our budget, we would get invitations and envelopes only. We also agreed on a bartering situation for other services (enclosure cards, table numbers, escort cards, thank you notes, etc.) and, based on that understanding, paid our deposit. Long story short, due to her unresponsiveness, we were not able to finalize our order until March. And, after that many months of negotiations (which mostly consisted of us making offers and her not responding), we ended up just getting the invitations and not doing any barter for additional services.

The proofing of the invitations went smoothly. However, when the invitations were printed, I was informed that I would have to pay to have them shipped to me. The other option would be to pick them up from her office which, of course, would be closed on that Saturday and Sunday because she was going out of town. I live 40 miles from Long Beach, so that was very inconvenient.

Once I got them, I was again disappointed. I had ordered 150 envelopes but only received 100. So there was another rigmarole to get the last 50.

I was very disappointed that it took 4 months for me to determine that I would be on my own for thank you notes, table numbers, escort cards, etc. In addition, I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail paid to our order. In retrospect, I wish I would have continued to shop for invitation vendors. The beautiful invitations that we received were not worth the months of stress and frustration.

I had a TERRIBLE experience with Paper Crew. After contracting with them through Etsy, they would leave emails unanswered for weeks, with their voicemail constantly full. I put down the deposit in October and did not receive the invitations (only with much harassing on my part) until April (for my May wedding!). The design ended up being great, but the stock felt way cheaper than what I was expecting for the price.
Bottom line: save yourself the stress and go with someone else.

I was on a budget and they were able to deliver. I loved my invitations I would never expect to want to spend so much on invitations. We did our wedding in Big Bear, CA and the invitations were something I have never seen before using twine, burlap and a beautiful sensitive paper. Chanda executed what I wanted and she was very prompt. I would totally recommend her to anyone she's amazing!

We had all of our paper needs done by Paper Crew for two reasons. FIrst, they are able to do everything! Invitations, menu cards, programs, favor boxes, reserved seating signs, table assignments, thank you cards, etc. Since we used non traditional colors, my husband thought it would be best to find a vendor who was able to fulfill all of our needs. Secondly, their professionalism and flexibility with design were amazing. They were able to create our vision and even added upon it with ribbons, rhinestones and design placement. Our invitations received rave reviews. Our friends and our parents friends even requested additional copies so they could show them to their kids who were engaged at the time. I would recommend to go in with what you want and give them a direction to work with so you don't spend time trying to determine if you do need menu cards, table numbers, etc. When they have an idea of everything you need they will be able to quote your total price at one time since they will know what they need to order as well as have your items ready by when you need them. I would give them a deadline a week ahead of when you need it. Chanda is very good at communicating with you and will keep you in the loop of everything. There proofing process is also very clear and easy so you will see exactly what you are getting before they start putting it together.
