I want to keep this review very factual (even though my experience with the farm got rather emotional and ugly) just to let other brides know the regulations in place over weddings held at Pastures of Plenty. My wedding was cancelled 3 months before the date and I would hate for that to happen to another bride! Below are the links to the Boulder Country regulations and hearing where the farm was found to be out of compliance on the events they were holding and in permitting of structures on the property. I have also bullet-pointed a couple of the main event compliance points:

http://www.bouldercounty.org/property/build/pages/docketdetails.aspx?docid=954
http://www.bouldercounty.org/property/build/docketsdocs/ep150003boccact.pdf

- Events are limited to 99 guests or less
- All events must end at 9:30pm with music to stop at 9pm (earlier on Sundays)
- Only acoustical music is allowed - No DJ's, No amplified bands
- Events over 50 people must shuttle all guests to and from the venue (added cost)
- Any microphone used for speeches needs to be done by 6:30pm
- Restrooms have to be removed because there was no permit so port-o-potties have to be
used until re-permitted and rebuilt.

The owner was unapologetic after the hours, money, and emotional upset I had to spend re-planning an entire wedding which was probably the worst part of all.

Best of luck brides!

Jill was so awesome to work with! She was very knowledgeable and patient with us non-green thumbs. She went through every detail of the bouquets, nosegays, boutonnieres, and corsages to make sure they were exactly what we wanted. She made awesome suggestions and really kept our budget and commitment to environmentally friendly flowers in mind. The flowers were beautiful and really made the entire event picturesque.

We chose Pastures of Plenty because we really wanted to have as much local stuff in our wedding as possible. They made that an option at the floral level, which was the hardest level to go local. Deana was easy to work with, though sometimes hard to get a hold of because they don't have great cell service at the farm (hence the 4/5 stars for responsiveness). She invited us to meet her at the farm - where they grow everything on site, I think - so we got to see the team in action preparing for a wedding on site. It was so fun to see where our flowers were coming from and where they would be assembled. Deana was flexible with us, and worked with us to be as local as possible. We gave them artistic freedom to do whatever they wanted with our colors and the local theme, and it turned out great. The flowers looked beautiful and we are so glad we went with Pastures of Plenty. And they were very affordable too - better than Boulder Blooms who was way expensive (another florist specializing in 'local').

I couldn't have been happier with my experience working with Jill @ Pastures of Plenty. We set up an advance meeting where we discussed every detail of my flower arrangements, and when I picked my my flowers on my wedding day they looked exactly as I had planned. Pastures of Plenty grow their flowers at an on-site farm, so if you are wanting the "Colorado organic wildflower" look, this is definitely a place to check out. Plus, the price was very reasonable. I felt like Jill really listened to me and helped make my vision a reality.
