I knew that Chad, the manager of the Paxton, was going to be awesome to work with when he responded to my initial information-gathering email within 5 minutes. We were in contact all throughout the wedding planning, and he was always great about answering questions and providing suggestions for my husband and my wedding reception.

At the wedding reception itself, Chad greeted us, offered his congratulations, and helped the DJ coordinate everyone getting in line for the wedding party’s entrance. When it came time to eat, the Paxton representatives made sure my husband and I got to get in line first for the buffet, and even carried my plate back to my seat so I wouldn’t get food on my dress (which was a life-saver). They made sure the rest of the night ran smoothly and if there were any hiccups, I didn’t know of them!

To give a bit of advice to future brides and grooms, I would definitely recommend having your wedding reception at a place (like the Paxton) that pretty much handles everything (tables, chairs, linens, catering, bar, security, parking). That way, the only stuff YOU have to worry about is just anything extra you want to bring (decorations, centerpieces, guestbook, etc.).

I can’t stress enough how nice it was to work with Chad and his team. Overall, our wedding reception was everything we could have hoped for and was as stress-free as possible. :)

I knew that Chad, the manager of the Paxton, was going to be awesome to work with when he responded to my initial information-gathering email within 5 minutes. We were in contact all throughout the wedding planning, and he was always great about answering questions and providing suggestions for my husband and my wedding reception.

Chad was the least helpful coordinator I have ever met. Do not have your event here. He seemed put out by any request. The staff tore apart the room two hours before the reception was over ruining my friends' night. The bride and groom wanted to have their last dance and walk out looking back at the beautiful ballroom. Also, late guest arrived to bare wood tables and centerpieces on the stage. Cakes were wrapped up so noone could get any. This was at 9pm. They paid to stay until 11pm. While they have a beautiful venue when it is all set up with rented table and chair covers it is not a place that cares about their client. Chad says that they don't clean the carpets or chairs. Gross! The bathrooms weren't maintained during the party either. The staff danced while breaking down the room early. Overall, unproffessional.

I had my dream wedding reception at the Paxton Ballroom in October. It was a perfect venue for 150 guests, but could have accommodated 200 well. We were able to rent out the beautiful lobby for cocktail hour, and the ballroom easily fit a large dance floor (we rented extensions) and the stage fit an 8-piece band. Chad, the general manager, was incredible to work with throughout the entire process. It was like having a wedding planner without hiring one. They use Hap Abraham catering, and the buffet was not your typical wedding buffet. I've heard from dozens of guests that it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had. I never write reviews for anything, but highly recommend this venue. Most of my guest were from out of town, and the Old Market setting was perfect and easy for the guests to get around. We got rave reviews...Wish I could do it all over!

Brian and the staff at the Paxton were amazing. The venue was beautiful and the service was impeccable. All of our guests raved about the food!! These people are absolute professionals. One of my friends had a wedding at one of their other locations based on my experience and was elated. I would not hesitate to hold another event at this it any of their other locations.

We had our wedding reception here and really had a great time. We worked with Chad who was great for the most part. We had 270 guests and had a plated dinner. The food was great (beef tenderloin, stuffed portabella mushroom and spinach stuffed chicken). Appetizer were ok, a little over priced. We also had a top shelf open bar which was well worth the $16 per person. A few issues we did have though included: it was soo hot in the reception. I do believe part of it was the number of people but it was crazy hot. Some of the older guests actually left due to the heat but it was like 95 degrees that day. The younger crowd still had a blast with our band etc but everyone was soaked in sweat. We had requested an extension of the dance floor and were never notified of any problems, however, when my new husband and I were having dinner we realized the extensions we had paid for were not there.. We were never told that. We addressed the issue and I guess the rental vendor never returned the phone call so it never happened. Part of me is curious, had we never asked, we would have been reimbursed? Our last complaint was that we had requested our band be fed with the extra guests dinners that didn't come. Since we had assigned seating, we knew exactly which guests did not show. After dinner, before the band went on, my mother asked the band if they had ate yet. With the answer No, she went to address the problem with Chad. He simply disregarded the request saying that he had to make sure his staff ate before the band... Even though there were 9 guests that did not attend, which was 4 more dinners than the band needed. This really pissed my mom off. The dinners were already paid for. Had these guests come, they would've already eaten. However, he would not allow the band to eat until after the servers had ate, even though the dance was about to start.
In the end, everything really worked out. And as the bride (besides the dance floor) everything went smoothly from my knowledge of the night. Overall, I do think it's a great value and the ballroom is beautiful. We had so many compliments and even with the few hiccups I would still do it again.

Love, Love, Love this venue! It was so beautiful that very minimal decorations were needed. The staff was very personable and organized and really catered to my every request! I would highly recommend this venue for any couple looking for a beautiful reception venue in downtown Omaha! I have already referred many people there!
