We picked Piedmont Chamber Players because we had a small budget for ceremony music and only needed them for a couple of songs and they were willing to play outside as long as it wasn't raining. (Know that all musicians are really picky about being outside with their string instruments and many of them are very demanding, asking for umbrellas, music stands, etc.) My initial consultation over e-mail with them made them seem very flexible and willing to do what we asked. They assured us that EVERY musician can extend a song for a processional to stretch it to be the right length for the people walking in. And they customized a song for our soloist. They wanted to charge us extra for rehearsal (so did all the musicians by the way), so we chose not to have them as part of the rehearsal.

But then they showed up and wouldn't sit on the bench we provided (I had sent a picture ahead of time), they didn't know what to do when my grandmother took a long time to walk down the aisle and started playing MY SONG! This screwed up our entire processional, because my husband was supposed to have a really cool entrance in between the ladies and me where he drove in to James Bond. None of it worked because of them. I had told them they could leave during the ceremony when they were done playing as long as it wasn't disruptive, but they were very noisy and then grabbed a drink at the bar when they left. It was pretty rude.
