Not the best experience with the Pottery Barn registry. We went to the store to register and that was the first mistake. The sales associate wasn't too familiar and set our registry up incorrectly--in fact, she locked us out of it. Not a huge deal, I thought. I called the customer service line and they fixed it, and they were very nice on the phone. We also inquired about the free design services advertised for registry members from the associate, and she proved to be totally unhelpful with that, so we dropped the inquiries. We registered approx. 10 months before our wedding to ensure everything was ready to go. We were careful not to register for seasonal items and instead keep to their main designs. This was disappointment #2. Items were constantly on back order, which our guests weren't purchasing. We had to constantly check the registry and update items. Additionally, we really wanted new dishes. Of course a month before our wedding, guess what went on back order? The dishes. We got 0 sets because guests are just unwilling to buy something you're not going to get until four months after your wedding. We also had issues with duplicates, which we didn't have on any of our other registries. So we had to go to the store several times to return. One store we had no issue with, but a second wouldn't give us store credit upon returning. They said since the items were from the catalog (but they were in the store too...) we would be receiving separate gift cards in the mail at some point for each item. You have to be kidding. We're still waiting for these gift cards to arrive, some of which will only have like $8 on it. And at some point in the future, we'll be using all 15 separate gift cards (if we even receive them) to buy a set of dishes.....

I wouldn't recommend setting up a pottery barn registry if you live in one country and have guests buying gifts from another country! The system is not compatible and therefore the guests would have to call a phone number every time they would like to purchase a gift. All other registries allow international purchases and thus make them superior to pottery barn.

I ordered a wedding gift many weeks before the wedding. Five months after the wedding, the bride sent me an email saying that she'd figured out that my gift had been delivered to the wrong address and returned. She had told the store about her change of address, but evidently had not updated the website, assuming the store would do that. Anyway, PB delivered the gift and it was returned to the warehouse. PB then sent a gift card for part of the value of my gift to the same address!!! The bride eventually got the gift card for about $120 less than my gift had been, but there was no notation whose gift it represented. Nor did PB alert me that this had all happened. They had my email since (hello), I'd ordered online. After many phone conversations, I believe the bride will indeed be getting a second gift card to bring the total to the amount I actually paid, but how annoying is that!!
All of the people I spoke with were very professional and helpful, but it was an extremely confusing situation and I still feel a bit annoyed.
So, if you send a gift and don't get a thank you note, look into it!! This bride had figured the whole thing out herself, because her registry showed that items had been purchased which she had not received. She's in school and newly married and moved cities. It's kind of ridiculous that PB online and the store aren't in communication vis a vis the registry.

We stopped by Pottery Barn because we needed some candle holders and vases.They had exactly what we where looking for and the glass products where very strong.We tried to couple things to create a theme and that was no problem with all the choices they offered.

We had a great experience registering with pottery barn.We also bought a lot of their vases and used them for tables and filled them for other decorations.They did have a limited availability but the ones they had worked perfect and low priced.
