This is one of those nightmare reception restaurants experiences... The owner, Savino was rude to me and my father on two separate occasions. The event manager, Aris, is disorganized and repeatedly failed to show up at appointments. They assured us a "great" deal on our alcoholic beverages and we were unable to solidify a price quote/ contract until one month before our wedding because of their continued absences and failure to return calls and emails... In the end, when our options were exhausted, they charged us full price for all wine consumption. I later heard from my bridesmaids that the servers continued to pour wine into glasses when they were asked not to, acting "cute" about it, insisting that they should drink more. At the end of the wedding we were left with a lot of filled wine glasses. They were disorganized and served all the champagne (intended to be reserved for the toast) to the first guests who arrived so needless to say the bridal party, including our parents and me and my husband never had any (they ran out very quickly so there was none left for the toast). We wanted Primi Piatti because although the food is expensive, the quality was great for a couple of dishes. (Don't kid yourself, they wouldn't allow us to have a tasting, even with our reception of 160 people-- the entire restaurant was filled on a Saturday when they ordinarily are not opened for business.) We had to visit the restaurant 3 times beforehand to select the dishes we wanted. Unfortunately, the quality at the reception was really disappointing. The folks who were served last received cold lamp, the fat pools hardened on the plate... They said at first that they did not have a cake-cutting charge but later on, when we wanted to select the dessert portion of our prix-fixe wedding menu meal (that they have printed out and selected) the event manager claimed that they were giving us a "deal" because normally they charge for 2 dollars/ plate (and therefore would not include another dessert option with our prix-fixe meal).
Obtaining a seating layout was a nightmare- we received it less than a week before the reception and we had to assign seats last minute. We also had to prepare and print our own menus. This took considerable effort, and I was really upset that the servers took these embossed menus from our guests upon their ordering (they were small cards meant as souvenirs and they also described special drink options and pre-discussed options for vegetarians). This is just another example of the lack of clarity between the managers and owner and their staff. Oh, and they mysteriously "lost" my special cake pan...
If you dare to do business with these folks, make sure you get an agreement in WRITING at a time in advance to your event so that if you are not happy with the pricing and agreement you have the opportunity to take your business elsewhere. Otherwise you'll be paying $34/ bottle for $4 wine (I checked their wines at Total Wine)...
Also, I find Savino to be a real chauvinist- I was both shocked and humiliated the first time he spoke to me in a particularly rude and demeaning manner- (also, that he would only direct "business" questions to my husband was infuriating) so ladies, be prepared and hopefully you'll be able to say something back to him about it if it happens to you.
