Frequently Asked Questions for Officiant
What officiant services do you provide?
Interfaith Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony
What religious affiliations do you serve?
Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
I will officiate wherever you choose. Every place can be a holy place, because God is always a guest at your wedding.
What is your attire for the ceremony?
I wear a kippah and tallit (prayershawl). I encourage the groom to also wear a kippah.
Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
I will happily work with you to create the ceremony that is meaningful to you.
Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Personal vows are welcome! The more personal the service is, the more holy it is for you, your family and your guests.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
I have my favorite wedding readings, I choose those which I believe "fit" you and your beloved.
How long are your ceremonies?
25 minutes max. And I do not talk to you for a long time, either! My weddings are not long, but they are meaningful.
Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
I speak to couples over the phone if they are out-of-town. If they are in-town, I invite them to meet me for a welcome and a conversation. No religious dogma, just a sharing of your life-stories with me, so I can know you better. I will always ask, for example, how you two met each other. These are the stories I love!
Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
I will do rehearsals, depending on the location.
Do you supply a sound system?
No I do not.
