Mazal Tov on your engagement and your upcoming wedding!

I will help make your wedding a joyous and holy celebration, one which you will be proud to talk about to your grandchildren!

Even though I have officiated at weddings for the past 38 years, I treat each couple as my very first, creating a meaningful spiritual ceremony that will start you off on your holy path together. You are unique, there is no one like you, and the ceremony will be a reflection of your specialness.

I officiate at Jewish weddings, God is a guest at all of them. Both of you do not have to be Jewish. I am also pleased to officiate at commitment ceremonies. And I love to travel!

You deserve a wonderful wedding, and I will make sure you have one! I will take very good care of you, please contact me and we can meet each other--in person or over the phone.

Blessings to you, I am looking forward to your celebration!

Shalom and God's blessing,

Rabbi Mel Glazer

INFO FOR OFFICIANT

What officiant services do you provide?
Interfaith Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony
What religious affiliations do you serve?
Jewish
Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
Yes
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
I will officiate wherever you choose. Every place can be a holy place, because God is always a guest at your wedding.
What is your attire for the ceremony?
I wear a kippah and tallit (prayershawl). I encourage the groom to also wear a kippah.
Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
I will happily work with you to create the ceremony that is meaningful to you.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Personal vows are welcome!
The more personal the service is, the more holy it is for you, your family and your guests.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
I have my favorite wedding readings, I choose those which I believe "fit" you and your beloved.
How long are your ceremonies?
25 minutes max.
And I do not talk to you for a long time, either!
My weddings are not long, but they are meaningful.
Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
I speak to couples over the phone if they are out-of-town. If they are in-town, I invite them to meet me for a welcome and a conversation. No religious dogma, just a sharing of your life-stories with me, so I can know you better. I will always ask, for example, how you two met each other. These are the stories I love!
Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
I will do rehearsals, depending on the location.
Do you supply a sound system?
No I do not.

Rabbi Glazer was wonderful! We rededicated our vows after 30 years of marriage and he made the occasion special for all involved. He was responsive to questions and our nerves--before, during and after the wedding; was very professional in his responses to us and to the non-Jewish guests at the wedding. With nearly 100 guests in attendance, Rabbi spoke with everyone there and explained some of our traditions, when asked, to those who were not Jewish. He was flexible about the timing, both the date and the actual time of day. His input was invaluable.

The Rabbi was warm, caring, inspirational, and responsive to our needs leading up to as well as for the service itself. He conducted the wedding ceremony in a very traditional yet contemporary manner. The wedding attendees to this day still make comments that it was one of the nicest weddings - and especially ceremonies they had ever attended.
