I had my wedding reception at the Radisson on May 10th. I had an overall good experience with the venue, and loved the room I rented. The only hiccups I had in service was the wrong vegetable being served with all my dinners, despite correcting the error several days prior. They offered a free breakfast coupon for the issue. I did have to request the dance floor to be bigger, which was done, and I'm very grateful for that. Overall it was a great event, and I'm glad I chose Radisson. I do wish I got answers to the issues faster, but overall things went well.

Having our reception at the Radisson was great. The food tastes good, the service is great, and they are willing to help in some areas of set up. However, don't plan on getting in there early enough to decorate anything yourself. You will need to hire someone to do setup for you.

We got married at the Paper valley as well as everything else was there.

Overall till the week before wedding they were flat out amazing. then we got a charge they didn't tell us about (was in contract) just not told about it but told us about everything else, so suprise fee to us but was there all along.

The wedding day itself:

We did get our room check in early after I ran into a manager and asked if we could have one room to put our stuff into.

Everything on their part setup wise was prefect, food tasted great! we had package with free beer, and I was drinking non "free drinks" which they kept bugging me about to pay (groom, with a room and $500 in back up in case we overspent) could of been brought up better or handled at check out, knew I had to pay.

They refused to serve one of our guests they was on the guest list, had to fight to get him food which he got after everyone else was done eating.

We had the reception in the Empire ballroom which was great, closer to end of the night we were told we had till noon to clean up, so my now wife left her bouquet done there(which maybe she shouldn't have but figuring you have till noon you don't think about it) We left for the night to go to our room around 12:30am

We were up and downstairs to start cleaning Empire Ballroom at 7:15am and they had thrown away her bouquet, which we had to grab out of the trash and had some of our other flowers thrown away as well. They had all of our stuff in a corner of the room at this time.

After talking to the manager "I will have to look into this" so we shall see if we hear from them.

We found out someone left us a card at the front desk after we left, we had someone stop back they said they delievered it to the room early in the morning.

Which was nowhere to be found, so waiting to see the outcome of the card and the rest still..

We were beyond happy with all aspects of our wedding at the Radisson Paper Valley. From my very first email to Jessica, she was attentive and quick to respond and was accommodating with my requests and changes during the course of the year we planned our wedding. We had our ceremony in the courtyard and it proved to be a great place to hold this event. The food and ambiance during the reception were also great. Traci was there the day of our event and was always there if we had a question or needed something. Everyone from the catering staff, servers, bartenders, security and front desk people were so great to us and our guests.

My husband and I chose this venue because it is one of the few spaces in the Fox Valley that is able to hold an event for more than 250 people. If there had been another option, we would have picked it.

At one time, the Paper Valley was THE reception site for a wedding in Appleton. Unfortunately, much of their facility and their practices are very outdated. The event staff never went beyond their duties unless we asked them for specific things, and there were plenty of details that were missed. I found myself repeating details and plans we had gone over before.

The food is average banquet food--nothing special. The space is an average ballroom. If you want to create something unique, you'll have to bring in lots of rentals and decor.

We used the courtyard for our cocktail hour, which was a very nice addition to the day. Guests really seemed to enjoy the space. It was also nice to have our reception at a hotel, so guests could just go to their rooms after the wedding.

Because our wedding was on a Friday, we received a number of discounts and promotions. However, the food and beverage was still quite expensive for the quality of service we were getting. I can't imagine what our bill would have been had our wedding been on a Saturday.

All in all, this venue is just so-so. Our wedding was beautiful, and I wasn't unhappy with the reception. But this was because we added lots of extra details, linens, and decor, to make the wedding our own. If you're looking for a large ballroom to accommodate more than 250 guests, this might be one of your only options. But if you're looking for a unique, beautiful atmosphere and a venue that serves delicious food and will provide great service, this isn't it.

I asked the Radisson Paper Valley hotel for some special requests, and they did follow through with each thing I asked for! The staff was overall very accommodating. They lose points for professionalism because of how many times our account changed hands! We started out with one manager, who eventually left on some kind of leave (which is understandable and not the business's fault.) We were then passed to another gentleman, who was very accommodating as well and worked with us up through the day of the rehearsal. The only bad part was the NIGHT of the rehearsal, he told us that he would be off entirely the next day (the day of our wedding), and handed us to someone we'd never met before for our event contact! Our last and final wedding manager with them was helpful and responsive, I was just a bit uneasy about never having known him at all up until this point. I had been building a relationship with their business but that's a little difficult when always changing hands.

I want to stress that everything from the Radisson did eventually go smoothly, and as far as vendors go for that day, they were relatively perfect. I never felt like they were pushy or ever unpleasant, and they were very responsive with every e-mail and call that we had for them. Things during the rehearsal and day of were a bit chaotic, but as far as event space goes, they did a great job.

Jen at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel was so helpful to us! We booked our wedding 16 months in advance with another coordinator and other contractual items, and she provided for us what was promised to us a year previous. We did not have to pay to rent the beautiful courtyard, and our food minimum was waived and we had the beautiful Salon B for our wedding- it was gorgeous! We had reserved the Empire Room and was given Salon B without a food minimum, it was great:) She was there on the wedding day to ensure everything we needed was given to us. The entire facility is beautiful and I highly recommend it. Going to the tasting for the food items was very helpful, I recommend them as well. If I had any questions, all I had to do was call or email and it was taken care of.

I had my wedding reception at this hotel this past June (of '08). It was perfect! We had fruit and veggies out in the courtyard for people to snack on, along with a bar for drinks. Then we had everyone move into one of the ballrooms for dinner, which was amazing. They helped us out a lot by setting up many things for us ahead of time. We rented tea light candles and square mirror plates for on the tables from them as well. They gave us a card box to use, complimentary room for the bride and groom (the night of), 2 extra complimentary rooms (for the night of), a block of rooms at a discount for our guests, and a room set aside for gift opening the next day. Their was always someone around so if their were any problems we could fix things asap. Luckily there were none. I highly recommend it. Its very beautiful there.

Overall, I had a good experience with the Paper Valley. We did a Friday wedding, which got us a TON of deals (I highly recommend doing that). The beer and food were overpriced, but we did a buffet style using various hours dourves (spelling?) to save money; instead of $20 per plate, we cut it down to $13 per plate (with 250 people, that is a lot of money). We had a pasta station with three kids of pasta, a cold vegetable salad, some beer sausage things (for my husband) and bread. Everyone seemed to like the food, especially because they could pick how much they wanted. The beer was $225 per half barrel! If you are doing open bar and your family drinks a lot, be prepared. The first coordinator we had was terrible; she never got back to me and always tried to change my mind so I would spend more money. She went on maternity leave and the new lady was quite nice; however, since we had already finalized everything, I don't know if she would have done the same. The first coordinator also told us a few things, but didn't document it or follow through, so it was a good thing we asked the new coordinator right away about them, so she could fix everything. The hotel was very accommodating to decorations and set-up and even let the wedding party check into their hotel rooms at 9am the day of the wedding (which was so helpful!). All in all, it was a pretty good experience, but could be very expensive.

We had a great experience for our wedding reception at the Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, WI. Not only did they work with us after we changed our wedding date, they let us set up the reception hall the Friday night before our reception, we had some family issues and they brought a meal to a guest's hotel room, and they let us continue the dance after midnight while they cleaned up the tables, one of the waitresses saw that I did not eat a lot at dinner (due to nerves), so she boxed up my meal and reheated it when we were ready to go back to our hotel room (and gave us free cheesecake)!!! We were able to get free hotel rooms for our parents and of course us as the bride and groom of our wedding night. Then on our year anniversary we received a $50 gift certificate to Lombardi Steak house and a free hotel room for the night. The Paper Valley made our wedding very memorable and considering all the other weddings going on that night, they sure did make sure that everything ran smoothly. Very professional and friendly! I highly recommend!
