We ended up discovering Ravenswood via Google, when trying to locate an SF area venue that would allow us to have food trucks and home brewed beer. They were incredibly accommodating, the property is gorgeous and well-maintained, and they had tables, chairs, and umbrellas as part of their rental, which made our lives easier. We primarily worked with Carol and Kevin, who answered all of our questions promptly, helped us design sunny and rainy day seating plans for both the ceremony and reception, and generally went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day happened smoothly. Carol and the facility staff helped us set up the day-of; and the on-site facility manager, Carl, was a big help and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the day.

Definite Positives:
- Flexible catering options (even non-traditional services)
- Provides tables, chairs, and umbrellas (linens not provided)
- Has additional services such lawn games, for reasonable price
- Communication, contracts, and guidelines very clear
- Reasonable price, given the area and the services provided
- Beautiful location, well-maintained

Things to Keep in Mind:
- Seasonal hours (facility is open a shorter period of time during winter months, however "summer" hours begin early in the year)
- Good for day weddings, but is not available after sunset

Ravenswood is the location that I dreamed of for my daughters from when they were tiny, when we lived in Livermore the first time & would go on drives in the vineyards & see the beauty of the house & lands back then! Since then, we've had 4 daughters, a son, lived in Livermore TWICE & left the Bay Area, altogether, for Colorado. So, when my oldest chose to marry her sweetheart from Dublin - the first place I sent them was..... RAVENSWOOD! And, through miracles from above, the date they chose was the ONLY date Ravenswood had a cancellation for for the entire year! We KNEW it was meant to be. So.... I just held my breath & waited to speak to Penny at the LARPD office the following Monday to find out the dent in my wallet & how many rolls of crepe paper my other 3 daughters will get for their weddings, so I could afford Ravenswood for our first wedding! Monday comes & I about DIED when I learned that because it was part of the parks & recreation district properties it was only $240/HOUR!!! THAT WAS IT!!! It was a fraction of the cost, we could use ANYONE we wanted to cater, we did all our own decorating, they had all the tables, chairs - we rented their AWESOME, ADORABLE yard games. Then, we negotiated with God & the Heavens on the weather... it was the PERFECT day. PERFECT reception. PERFECT location. PERFECT couple. PERFECT price. PAID for with out hocking our future, our cars, our kids or having our other kids sign contracts to commit to 3 rolls of crepe paper in their favorite colors with $200 to elope - because we thought we would go broke on this reception in the over-priced Bay Area! And, did I mention that I planned this entire wedding & reception from COLORADO? Over the phone, internet & relying heavily on the use of yelp & other reviewers? Who, by the way did NOT steer me wrong! Penny at LARPD is a DREAM to work with. Her on-site, grounds crew at Ravenswood is FANTASTIC & not one detail or concern was overlooked. LOVED our time there!

We got married here at Ravenswood May 23, 2015. Absolutely beautiful venue. All of our guests couldn't believe we found such a gem in the middle of wine country. We paid a fraction of the price for this venue. We had lawn games, a shot gun bar, dancing in the house, and a beautiful reception under the palm trees. I recommend this venue to everyone. You can BYOB and Bring you own vendor!!! <--- this can help in the cost BIG TIME! We love our pictures! There are these cool old ruins, lots of land to take outdoor pictures. You have to be out of the site by 8pm.

We had our wedding at Ravenswood Historic Site in Livermore on October 19, 2013. It was a gorgeous venue that has a lot of versatility. There are spectacular locations for pictures that are varied (orchard, vineyards, old cement ruins, gazebo, tree-lined walkways, old barn, Victorian buildings, etc.) It's on a public park and there are tours every second & fourth Sunday. It's worth taking a look at if you're interested in an outdoor wedding, with options for indoors. They have summer and winter options - in the winter, you are limited to indoors and less people. They do not provide any catering or beverages, so you're allowed to do basically what you want in that way.

The crew at Livermore Area Parks & Recreation District were easy to work with and set up the tables/chairs exactly as discussed. They were available on the day of to help out or answer questions. There is a room for getting ready, with plenty of outlets and space. We got several compliments all day about how wonderful the venue was. The pictures are beautiful from almost every angle.

Our only minor issue was the value. It's a wonderful venue and for the price, was great for the Bay Area. However, because they are a venue only - we had to pay separately for catering, beverages, linens and other rentals - etc. When it all combined, we felt like what we paid for the venue could've been $500+ less. However, we are still extremely happy with how everything turned out and we wouldn't have changed anything to do with the venue.
