Do you have liability insurance?
Describe your DJ style:
The art of DJing is about tapping into the energy of the crowd and mixing the best two songs for that perfect moment in time. I am electric, creative and imaginative work to achieve the vibe and atmosphere that you want for your big night. Probably best term to describe me is fun.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
No, I work with or without a playlist. It's totally up to you.
What is your usual attire?
A sharp dark suit. I normally dress better than the groom.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
Only if it's not available at the store or via download.
How many other DJs do you work with?
I work with one other DJ at every gig. My partner and I have been working together for 25 years.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Three hours.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Oh yes. This is crucial and necessary. You will be meeting with me as I am the owner of the business and the DJ.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
Yes, I do diverse, multicultural weddings and specialize in Latin music.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
You bet!!! This list is the most important list of all. No sense of having your party ruined by hearing a song that you hate.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes, I own a top of the line Bose system that sounds fabulous and doesn't rattle your teeth. I set up and place my speakers to acoustically match the room.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
I offer no visuals or effects. I have vendors whom I can refer to you.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
I normally show up 90 minutes beforehand due to the fact that Murphy's Law does exist.
My contract specifically requires that the facility to provides a table for my set-up.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
I use vinyl and CDs because of their superior sound quality. A six foot table is more than sufficient to work with. On occasion I worked out of really tight spaces and locations that seems like a closet. I am very resourceful and always figure out a way to make sure everything works no matter what type of space I am in. This is stuff you should NOT have to worry about.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
No way.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes I emcee and I try never to talk between songs.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
I try to play better music.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I work with a partner and we normally takes turns eating. Yes we do require a meal but the music never stops and the party always continues.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
My regular partner would do the gig and he would bring our back-up DJ with him. For the record, this has never happened.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
Once in a while I do a lunch time wedding and an evening wedding.
What is your overtime rate?
My overtime rate is normally the hourly rate charged by the half-hour. For example, if your hourly rate is $350.00 per hour, the overtime rate is $175.00 per half-hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
For gigs outside the greater NYC area we would have to discuss a rate for travel time and in some rare cases hotel costs if the party is a few hours away and ends late at night.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
If and when I take a deposit it is normally one hour's cost.

Rockin' It DJs did a great job for our summer wedding in the California countryside. They were incredibly flexible with our music requests, thoughtful about the music sets and tailored them to ensure they were appropriate for each moment throughout our wedding ceremony and reception. They tailored to requests and were also able to suggest some good options for our wedding song based on our personalities. I would highly recommend them for any event. To top it off, they are pretty cool too, so its not like you have some nerds DJ'ing your event.

I highly recommend Bernard Moore for any wedding or event. First of all, he is a super-nice, calm, very professional individual. Our reception music was a bit complicated by the fact that we had both a band and a DJ. After meeting Bernard, I asked him to be the coordinator for all the music and to liase with the band leader, because I trusted him completely to be able to keep everybody calm and to ensure that the event would go smoothly. He is not cheesy and has a very broad and eclectic music repertoire, which my husband and I loved. His music was NEVER cheesy, very groovy and definitely got people dancing.

Bernard Moore, is an amazing DJ, he has a great selection of music and can judge the mood of a party with exceptional grace and efficiency, he is laid back, friendly, and very talented. My advise for all brides is do not sweat the small stuff, and if you want a creative and practical DJ for your event, book Bernard, you will not be disappointed.

Bernard was great. I had a hard time picking music and hired Rockin' It DJs very late in the game, but he was flexible and patient, even as I changed things at the last minute. He's very easy to work with and a real nice guy.

Bernard's got great taste and doesn't do any of the cheesy, corny stuff other DJs do -- it's just about good music and having fun. Best of all, he doesn't break the bank --hiring Rockin' It is a very good deal.
