Rockland Community Church has an incredible, unobstructed view of the continental divide. It's breathtaking views are certainly what drew my husband and I to this church. The church has a simple interior that is well kept and inviting. The bride room is spacious and has a private bathroom. We primarily worked with Valarie the wedding coordinator. She was outstanding at coordinating our rehearsal and wedding ceremony. She provided clear instructions to all members of the bridal party and family members. Our wedding ceremony went smoothly thanks to her. Throughout our planning, we appreciated Valarie's clear communication and prompt return of calls or emails. We had their Senior Pastor, Ken officiate the ceremony. We only met with him once prior to our wedding though this was not much of an issue for us. We did have some trouble determining who would officiate our ceremony (due to a sudden illness in the pastor's family) but it all worked out in the end. We would recommend this lovely church to anyone seeking a simple church wedding with fantastic views that bring the outdoors in.

The church was gorgeous! Regardless of the weather, the natural backdrop is breathtaking. Val was soooo helpful with everything! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, meaningful ceremony. We were allowed to have our pastor from our home church in Indiana officiate the ceremony, making it all the more meaningful.

Rockland Community Church is a beautiful venue for your ceremony, don't get me wrong! However what you have to deal with from the wedding coordinator of the church makes it almost not even worth it. The wedding coordinator is hard to get ahold of, and when you do finally get ahold of her she is usually very short with you and sometimes borders on rude. She added things into our ceremony that we didn't want and then wouldn't let us change them. She forced us to sign our marriage license in the ceremony, something we didn't want to do. She runs her rehearsals like a boot camp, saying things like "it's my rehearsal, it will take this amount of time no exceptions". She finally was a little nicer the day of the wedding but by then I was so aggervated with her that I could've cared less. The sound tech is awful, he screwed up our recessional and the recording of our wedding was just as bad. The woman who teaches the 10 hour mandatory marriage prep class is really great and it's not as bad as you think it will be. Overall, my wedding was beautiful but for the price ($950.00 plus a $550.00 deposit), I think someone helping facillitate your wedding should treat you a little better.

I chose Rockland Community Church because it had personal significance for me. I became a Christian there, my daughter was baptized there and my husband proposed there. It also has the bonus of being a very beautiful sanctuary with a gorgeous view of the continental divide. Also, my old youth pastor has remained a close friend and mentor and I wanted him to perform the ceremony. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the setting unless you have personal ties. First, if it weren't for the discount we received it would have been really expensive for a site that was just for the ceremony. Second, and most importantly the wedding coordinator was really hard to work with. She didn't return emails or phone calls promptly and when she would, she would miss answering important questions. She often told me she was out of town with her other job and not able to tell me the information I was looking for. Luckily, my friendship with the pastor helped to mitigate these circumstances but I was VERY frustrated with this woman throughout the process. She wouldn't tell me when the rehearsal was going to be and we ended up having to schedule the rehearsal dinner on another night due to this. Then when we had the rehearsal, she was the only person who showed up and she made it very clear that her priority was to get out of there as soon as possible to get to her kid's game that night. She rushed through the rehearsal and then wouldn't listen to either myself or my husband about some of the details.
On the day of, she was rude and pushy to my bridal party and photographers and videographers. Her strict rules kept them from being able to get the angles they needed and they both noted that they wouldn't do another wedding at that location, even though it was gorgeous.
Then to top it off she would not listen to my husband about when to start the music for my bridesmaids and I. I had planned one song that was the perfect length to get my bridesmaids, flowergirl and ringbearer and myself down the aisle. She decided to start it before then for the guys to come in and all get hugs. My husband told her not to do this as the song was not long enough and she told him it would be fine. Long story short, the song ended before the doors even opened for me and she ended up having to restart it...and the beginning of the song is not dramatic at all! So, thankfully our wonderful videographer will edit it so that I get to enter to the part of the song that I was supposed to.
The rest of the ceremony was PERFECT! Ed Lange is a wonderful pastor and was the perfect fit for us. He worked with us to put in the components we really wanted, including communion, unity candle, cord of three strands, signing the license and even vows from my husband to my daughter.
When we were pronounced husband and wife and were to recess down the aisle, we planned the halelujah chorus, but since the sound guy was never filled in, he didn't turn it up...and that song was meant to be cranked!
All in all the ceremony was beautiful but the coordinator was a pain in my booty, and my vendors'.
