Saddlerock Ranch's Garden Setting is one of the most beautiful outdoor locations in all of Southern California. Rolling hills lined with vineyards, acres of manicured lawns, ancient oaks, rose gardens and ribbons of white fences create the perfect backdrop for your special occasion. From an intimate gathering to a grand celebration with all of your family and friends, picture your event encircled by the spectacular natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains and sweeping green lawns. Let us help you create your own enchanting moment at Saddlerock Ranch.

Saddlerock’s Chateau le Dome is located on a hilltop in the middle of the ranch’s vineyards. The Chateau is an octagonal stone house set on a manicured lawn that is large enough for a ceremony and reception. From this elevated vantage, you have panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards, valleys and pastures. As the bride prepares inside the house, guests take their seats for a ceremony on one side of the lawn. In keeping with the natural setting, vows are exchanged beneath a fallen oak tree arch, entwined with grape vines. Afterwards, as family and friends dine in the serenity of their secluded perch, they will feel like they are on top of the world. Read less

We had our wedding at the main house/ garden on August 31, 2014. It was seriously magical. The twinkle lights that come with that setting really sets the mood. We always had an easy time asking questions and getting answers pretty quickly. They have a few interesting rules, like having to use their own security and valet, but it was easy to work with them. Overall, I thought the venue was perfect.

However, they should have been more communicative about an uber promotion that was going on during our wedding. Literally during our ceremony we had helicopters landing that caused interruptions during our ceremony due to the noise and distraction. I wish they could have timed that partnership a bit better.

We were in the Chateau le Dome setting which is an amazing view and setting but can only hold 100 guests which is hard for some. If you can get your guest list to 100 though it is so worth it. All of our guests were blown away. You don't even need a lot of decor because the setting takes care of it. I would suggest going with their suggested event rentals and caterer for this site especially because it is small and hard to drive to but their preferred vendors (command performance and a rental company) take care of everything for you so there was no stress related to the venue.

This venue is gorgeous! We had our wedding at the Chateau Le Dome located on top of the hill with a 360 view of endless hills, vines and blooming roses all around, the whole scenery was breathtaking. This also happens to be the smallest and least expensive location of the ranch. It seats a max of 100 guests and is $5,000.00 for the location alone. You've got to haul in everything from generators (close to no electricity) to hand soap and towels (at least guest bathrooms come with toilet paper). This location is a whole lot of work and you will probably go way over budget, but it is so totally worth it! Be prepared to have your guests compliment you endlessly on how your wedding will be the most beautiful one they've ever attended :)

We met with Kim to tour the ranch sometime in November when nothing was really in bloom, she was great at showing us all the different locations, photo op spots and introducing all their animals. She was very quick to return emails and was a great help when choosing our date of preference. This place books up fast, i recommend you do it as early as possible. You will see in their contract that it is a requirement that you hire a security guard and valet, both charge by the hour.

Some things to keep in mind in order to make the process a lot easier is to choose your wedding planner and vendors wisely. We found that having a great wedding planner makes all the difference when dealing with 10+ vendors. Make sure they are responsive and professional as this place requires a lot of work and planning.

We chose the chateau le dome site and it was beautiful and stunning: just the perfect setting for our wedding and a dream location. Our guests couldn't believe it was in the Los Angeles area and kept asking us how we found the place. Kim was amazing to work with the entire process. Everything from our booking, wine order (which was at the site the morning of), and the extra barrels we rented went off perfectly. And although you have to use their wines (if you plan on serving wine or champagne) you get not only a free tasting at their site to try out which ones to serve but you get a discount and can choose very economical wines that taste great. The rental is for 24 hours which was a huge plus for us and very rare in LA and you can bring your own hard alcohol and vendors. I recommend booking a few key vendors that have experience with their site such as a caterer/rental, day-of coordinator, and florist. Since it is a private estate, the cost gets a little higher than just renting the land as you have to use their appointed valet and security companies, which ended-up being reasonably priced for the service; however, we had several issues with one of the chateau day-guards (Sandman Security) that we are addressing separately to both Saddlerock Ranch and the Security company directly. You will not go wrong booking Saddlerock Ranch. It's gorgeous, dramatic, and there are even animals like zebras, camels, bison, and horses on the property. Bring carrots to feed them for cool shots!

Saddlerock Ranch, Chateau Le Dome, was THE perfect place for our wedding of 90 people. The stone walkway (my aisle) down the long ceremony lawn was picturesque, to say the least. Absolutely stunning views, charming locale, with its adorable dome-house in the background. Kim helped me with everything from the tour the first day to finding absolutely every vendor and piece of advice I needed.
Is it an expensive venue? Somewhat. For the fairytale we were able to create there, not so much. Almost all of our vendors were from their list and they were fabulous. The Ranch's security, valet, and staff was professional, pleasant, and really helpful.

Seriously, this place is stunning and you feel miles away from Los Angeles. All you hear are birds and wind and all you see is hills, sky, and their beautiful vineyard. Perfect wedding venue.

My husband and I are so happy we had our wedding reception at Saddlerock Ranch. We initially wanted to do a destination wedding, and this was the closest thing as the site is absolutely gorgeous. We got married in August, and everything was lush and in full bloom. I love this site in that you can use your own vendors, and create your wedding exactly how you want it! Kim is amazing, and is more than helpful in making your day perfect. Love Love Love this venue!!!

I first saw Saddlerock Ranch while perusing SoCal wedding venues online - I was living in Chicago at the time and couldn't see venues in person for several months after I got engaged. I completely fell in love with the first photos I saw of Saddlerock, and it was the first place I visited when I was able to come back to LA.

From the moment I stepped foot on the property, I knew it was the perfect place for my wedding. It is an absolute fairytale - there are actual zebras, camels and horses on property! Driving through the property, you can see the grapes for the vineyard hanging on the vines, and there is a breathtaking view around every corner. It is absolutely one of the most stunning locations I have ever seen.

Our wedding was on the Chateau le Dome, which sits at the top of a hill and overlooks all the hills of Malibu. The venue is small and can only accommodate 100 people (although, they really suggest no more than 90), but we liked this, because it allowed us to keep our guest count to a manageable number. There is also no curfew (you have the site until 8am the day after your wedding) and no sound restriction, which is awesome, especially after finding out that almost every other venue I looked at closed at 11 or midnight and had a sound restriction.

One of my favorite things about the venue is that you bring in all of your own vendors - Saddlerock only provides the space. I wanted to make my wedding very personalized to my husband and I, and we literally got to pick out everything - tables, chairs, food, music, lights, etc. If you aren't super into planning every detail of your wedding, however (for example, there was a point where we were counting how many actual forks and spoons we needed) this could be a downside. The other downside to Saddlerock is that there are some costs that arise that you may not have originally considered. For example, we learned after booking Saddlerock that we'd have to have security and valet, which totaled about $1500.

Saddlerock Ranch was the most beautiful venue that I have ever been to and all of our guests agreed. People are still talking about it and comparing all of the weddings they attend to ours! Someone was even asked if the background in one of their photos was real.

The only negatives are the ones already mentioned which is that the site fee is for a blank canvas, they don't offer anything other than the space. But to me this picture perfect setting was well worth it! They also require you to use their security and valet companies (which when there is a maximum of 100 people "security" may not be necessary) and you also have to use their wine. It's delicious though and they do give you a break on the cost.

We experienced no issues with the coordination staff so they must have worked out the problems from 2007.

Quality of Service 3.5. I am giving this rating because there isn't much service involved with the location. It is very brief. You view the location, work with them on setting up a rehearsal time (which they will tell you - as it gets closer and closer to the big day -if you can or cannot use the site the day before because they are constantly booking events), and then work on the contract.
Responsiveness 4.0. While I had to leave a few messages for the Rep, we did always end up speaking with her. But, she is the one contact for questions regarding anything and everything you could think of (can you do this, we want these wines, etc)
Professionalism 5.0. This was never a question, they understand this is a once in lifetime experience and they know what they've got - an amazing location!
Value 5.0. It is the perfect outdoor setting. You are surrounded by lush grounds, mountains, blue sky, cool Malibu weather, elite location, and once the sun goes down - those twinkling lights will make you never want to leave.
Flexibility 3.0. You pay A LOT for the venue, you use their security and valet, and leave a security deposit. WHICH THEY WILL USE. One of our vendors side swiped a tree and it WAS EXPENSIVE (ie. There are NO LIGHTS driving out, hard to see, scrape a tree). While yes, they are flexible and you can use your own vendors, it is so much more than you think you need (chairs, lighting, caterers, dinner tables, tables for everything! dance floor, vases, flowers, candles, alcohol, etc)- so I took away points. I think this venue requires more work and an organized bride (or planner), but it is well worth it. It is a magical place that you and your guest will never forget.

Chateau le Dome site at Saddlerock Ranch is an amazing location! It can only hold up to 100 people but is the perfect outdoor venue for an intimate and unique wedding location. My fiance and I would not change a single thing! The only reason I did not give 5 stars for value for cost is because you are paying only for the blank site (no tables, chairs, etc.) but after the wedding we feel the expense was 100% worth it. Bride can get ready in Dome House which is adorable. We still receive comments from guests that it was the most beautiful site/wedding they have ever been to. 360 views of vineyards and conejo/s.f. valleys.

Saddlerock provided absolutely the most beautiful wedding I could have imagined. The site is so breathtaking and the garden setting at night, with all the twinkling lights in the trees, was amazing. The price for the venue is a little high considering you have to rent everything. Also, the required valet and security vendors, and the wine purchase definitely added up to more than I expected, and you should consider these costs when budgeting. A great thing about the venue is that you have complete freedom when chosing all other vendors and you have the site for a full 24 hours so you can keep the celebration going until late into the night. The site manager was easy to deal with and she let us tour the site whenever we were in the area on short notice. We did have a problem with our rehearsal, which we planned many months in advance. She booked a tv show to film at the same time and we kept having to stop our rehearsal to let them shoot, which was pretty inconvenient. All things considered, I wouldn't have changed my venue for the world. I got tons and tons of compliments and it really was the perfect location.

The site is one of the more beautiful locations in Los Angeles, but they could definitely work on their customer service. They changed wedding coordinators on us several times during the year and never notified us. They were not always very responsive in getting back to us and I will have to call them several times to set things up. The worst was on the day of our rehearsal, the new wedding coordinator argued with me and was very rude about a hoopa (Jewish tent) frame they were going to provide for us, saying that they had no such thing and I didn’t know what I was talking about. However my husband and I both discussed this with them previously and had seen it set up for another wedding when we booked the location. When she realized she was wrong, she said it would be taken care of, but never apologized to either of us about her rudeness. Although I don’t regret having my wedding there, because it turned out to be a beautiful day and we could not have asked for a more beautiful setting, I do wish they could have been more accommodating during the wedding planning. This is a very stressful time for a couple and having someone yelling at you the day before your wedding is not the best way to handle a situation.

Saddlerock Ranch has to be one of the most precious places on the planet. My husband & I loved the location & so did our family & friends. Our wedding was beautiful for many reasons, but the biggest reason is the location we picked. Saddlerock is like a piece of southern Italy hidden in the Malibu hills.

Saddlerock is a beautiful venue - and our wedding was perfect but I felt that the staff was not as helpful as I had hoped. There were four wedding coordinators between the time we decided on the location to the time the wedding took place which made planning that much harder. But overall I would choose that locaton again due to its amazing natural beauty.
