Diana claims she is a "professional" and has "been doing this for 6 years" but is nothing short of the rudest, most selfish, unprofessional person I've ever met. She quoted me a price for my hair and my bridesmaids hair, and had me put down a deposit, but didn't have a contract or any other documentation to confirm her services for our wedding day. The week of the wedding, my DOC contacts her to confirm details and I find out she's upped the price from what she quoted at my trial. I call her to reconfirm what we had discussed at the trial and I get my ear talked off about how she can't keep charging such low prices as she's not making any money. I tell her 3 times I understand but I want her to uphold the quote she gave me because I told all my cash-strapped bridesmaids months ago what the hair would cost. She finally agrees.
At the trial I didn't think to tell her what hair types my girls had, figuring she would be able to handle anything, or else she would have asked (she's such a "professional" after all!) so a week before the wedding when my DOC gave her the bridesmaid's hair types, she CALLS me to state she can NOT do their hair in the time we have and she'll have to charge double what she quoted me. She proceeds to order me to call my girls and tell them, then call her back and let her know WHO'S DROPPED OUT. Then when I returned for the big day, she's late and couldn't remember what style we had practiced at the trial. My hair turns out horrible and I'm so upset and running late I just say it's fine in an attempt to get out of there and away from her, before I have to listen to another story about how she was in the hospital, or hasn't washed her hair in 4 days and doesn't it look great... And when I go to pay for myself and the bridesmaids (who had to leave as soon as their hair was done b/c Diana was over half an hour late and our photographer had arrived and was waiting at the hotel) I gave her what I thought was the balance, and she just stares at it, then her jaw drops, she let's out a "humpf!" and swivels her chair away from me saying, "Well, well, fine. Fine, I guess. If that's what you want..." I'm shocked and afraid I had calculated wrong so I ask her what she thinks the balance was. She gives me a number and I'm completely confused but hand it over with a nice tip and she seems very happy with that. I don't realize until I'm in the car leaving that she overcharged me and the couple of girls who stuck with her for hair, even though we weren't the hair types she had claimed needed more time and would cost more!
Thankfully, she spent an hour complaining that she wouldn't be doing bridal hair anymore since she can't charge such low prices anymore and doesn't want to be "known for being cheap". So hopefully no other bride will EVER have to put up with her. The salon's other staff are well respected and liked from what I can tell reading reviews (although they treat the older women working there, who doesn't seem to be a native-English speaker, like crap. Seriously, I felt bad for her every time the stylists yelled at her or muttered under their breath when she didn't get them something fast enough)
