The San Juan Marriott Stellaris was not only our Ceremony and Reception Venue, but they also deserve a review for their catering that had excellent food and great service from the staff. Their chef, Jose Jarra, whom we got to meet during our food tasting is brilliant and takes great pride in his work. We couldn't have been happier with the appetizers, soup, salad, and entree selected for our guests, very pleased with the quality, presentation, and above all great taste.

We scheduled several appointments to view venues for our destination wedding in Puerto Rico. From our first contact with them they were helpful and willing to customize our wedding with us. Although staff changed several times throughout the process they were accommodating and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests including having our yorkie be part of our ceremony on the Condado Terrace. It was a dream setting throughout all the spaces we rented, the food was delicious and the staff were invested in making sure it all went smoothly. I can not say enough good things about the staff. I would highly recommend putting this on the top of your list of places to choose for your wedding!

My husband and I were just married on the 25th of April...We live in Indiana so very far from Puerto Rico, and I felt as though the process was very smooth and I did not worry because Aaron was ALWAYS available if I needed him or had a question. This vendor was great! We had our ceremony and reception here. Our ceremony was held on the poolside deck which was very romantic and intimate. Our ceremony was held in the Atlantic room which overlooks the beach as well. It was very intimate but comfortable and romantic. Eunice helped us with all of our arrangements, Pao-Pei helped with our marriage license and both were very accomodating, accessible and helpful! I would definitely recommend this place for a destination wedding.

We were very impressed by the San Juan Marriot Stellaris and Casino. Our ceremony was held on Condado Beach at sunset. The reception was poolside at the hotel. Our guests enjoyed their dinner while cooling off to the light beach breeze. If you choose to have your wedding at the Marriot please please request Eunice Vargas (eunice.vargas@marriothotels.com)as your event planner. My dream day would not have come true without her guidance, advice, and daily support. Eunice is aware that every bride is on a budget and wilk def work with you to come up with ways to save money. I cannot say enough good things about the San Juan Marriott! We got off to a rocky start with a bad wedding coordinator. However, the Marriott realized she was not doing her job and they more then made up for it. They upgraded us to a Presidential suite and provided additional flowers and decorations for our reception- which looked amazing! The day of my wedding included several surprises (nothing to do with the Marriott) and the staff helped to resolve all issues quickly without any guests realizing. The food was excellent- not what you would expect from a hotel. The area is great- plenty of stuff to do for your guests. On top of everything, my father got sick after the wedding and had to be taken to the hospital. The Marriott sent security guards with us to translate and provided in room doctor care during his recovery at their cost.

My husband and I were married at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in April 2010. It was a destination wedding, so our 60 guests stayed here, as well. Each and every guest absolutely loved the hotel. We worked with Susanna Mendoza in their event planning department. She was an absolute joy to work with. She did everything she could to make us happy and was very responsive to our inquiries for the entire year leading up to our ceremony. We did not have our reception here, but we did have a Newleywed brunch in one of their banquet rooms (which overlook the ocean!) and everything ran smoothly. Strongly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at the Resort. The staff went above and beyond to make our wedding and our honeymoon great. The day of the wedding they sent us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had a small wedding (8 + bride & groom). When it was time for the wedding one of their event staff made sure that no one interfered, including having the beach staff stop collecting chairs so they wouldn't be making noice or be in the background. It was the extra touches that made our stay awesome. I highly recommend the San Juan Marriott Resort for a wedding venue.

We choose the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino for our cocktail party and reception. We had the ceremony at a Catholic church near by called Santa Teresita. We were married January 25th, 2014.

We choose this particular Marriott because they have a ballroom large enough to accommodate our 200 guest and the ballroom has access to a terrace in which smoking is allowed (we had a cigar roller at our wedding).

The location of this hotel could not have been more perfect! It is located in the center of Condado surrounded by bars, restaurants, and spectacular beach views! It is also a short 20 minute cab ride from the Luiz Muñoz Marin International Airport.

At first the event staff was very accommodating and very responsive to all our questions and phone calls. However, the moment the contract was signed and the deposit given that all changed. It was extremely hard to get in contact with our assigned wedding coordinator at the hotel. A month would pass by before I received an e-mail response or a call back. This was extremely frustrating and added unnecessary stress to our wedding planning process. She also failed to set up connecting rooms for the bride's family which made the check-in process very difficult, since our request could not met by the hotel at the time. We were very DISAPPOINTED with her responsiveness and the time it took to get things accomplished!

The hotel was accommodating and flexible when setting up the food tasting. My husband (then fiancé) is a chef and the hotel chef was very responsive to his likes and dislikes...he even went as far as to follow a recipe my husband gave him for clam chowder.....which turned out amazing the day of the wedding!

The day of the reception the food was delicious and everything was done according to our specifications! The hotel staff was awesome that day and everything went off without a hitch! Our guest loved the ambiance of the hotel and really enjoyed its many amenities!

We had a beatiful wedding on the Condado terrace overlooking the beach, and a great cocktail hour and reception indoors in the American Foyer and Ballroom.

I have to say that Susanna Mendoza, the wedding coordinator, did a fabulous job and was very helpful at every step of the planning process. In the end, our wedding turned out great and she was very accomodating and even upgraded us to the Presidential Suite on our wedding night.

However, the rest of the hotel and staff had many issues and while I would highly recommend Susanna, I am lukewarm about the Marriott.

Here are the good things about the Marriott:
- The location is great. Very convenient to the airport, to Old San Juan nightlife, and the beach (right outside the hotel).
- The hotel itself is very nice. We had a beautiful ocean view room before moving to the amazing Presidential suite, and both rooms were great. The amenities are also great - we used their gym and spa, and our guests liked the pool. We also had our rehearsal dinner in their Ristorante Tuscany's private room, which was fantastic - the food was good, and all of our guests had a great time. There are also lots of great photo ops around the hotel, which our photographer took full advantage of.
- The food for the reception was fantastic. We didn't get to taste it ahead of time, but Susanna met with us at their La Vista Grill and let us taste that in lieu of an official tasting - all of which was great.
- The space they had for our wedding was beautiful and convenient. The event flowed right from the terrace outstide to the indoor foyer, then the ballroom, which was highly convenient for us and our guests (most of whom stayed at or nearby the hotel).
- We had a lower guest count than expected, so we got a lot of upgrades. I would have preferred a price reduction, but Susanna threw in lots of great extras, including an extra hour of open bar, extra mojitos, a dessert station, etc. so we really got our money's worth in the end.

Here's what is not so great about the Marriott:
- They are overwhelmed and understaffed, and it shows. I had several problems along the way, and although Susanna was exceptionally helpful, everyone else I dealt with was unhelpful, slow, and even rude. Before I worked with Susanna, I dealt with Omar Negron, who was unprofessional and unhelpful. He overbooked our original wedding date, and called me only after it was too late to switch to another venue, so we had to stick with the Marriott and settle for a different day (and the only thing he offered to make up for his mistake was $5 off the room block). To top it off, he also promised us a beach wedding, but we were later told that another party had reserved the beach so we could only use the terrace - this was highly unexpected as Omar did not inform us of a separate procedure for reserving the beach, only that we had it, no problem. In the end, we liked the terrace - we just would've appreciated being told the truth from the beginning.
- The events department is having staffing issues. I was initially assigned to a staff coordinator that either quit or was fired, and no one informed me - it was only after repeated emails and phone calls that I finally was told that they were in the process of hiring someone new who would help me with my wedding. This didn't happen - they did not hire anyone, and they assigned me to Susanna instead, who was fortunately great, but I think she had a lot on her plate since she was the only planner on staff.
- There was a serious lack of communication between the events department and everyone else at the hotel. As a result, a lot of things in our contract were overlooked or forgotten about, and if I hadn't been on top of it, many more things would have fallen through the cracks. For example, we were promised a limo ride to the airport the day after our wedding as part of our contract - they forgot to book it, and Susanna was not working that day so no one at the front desk knew what to do. They ended up giving us a crappy cab instead because it was too late to get the limo - they paid for it, but I would've much preferred our original limo ride. They also charged us for an extra night in a room we didn't stay in - when I called the billing department, they were extremely unhelpful. I told them I checked out a day earlier than it said on my bill and they said they would have to confirm with events and security - it was obvious they didn't believe me. After waiting several days without a response, I finally contacted Susanna directly and she took care of everything and also assigned Marriott rewards points to my account (which the billing department of course forgot to do). Once Susanna got involved, it got done, but the billing department was horrible and unhelpful.

The Marriott is a nice place and we had a great wedding, but I'm not convinced it was worth the hassle. I would recommend seriously considering other venues, and if you do pick this one, get EVERY LAST DETAIL in writing, right from the very beginning, and make sure you're crystal clear about who you're working with and what you're getting.

I have to say that Susanna Mendoza, the wedding coordinator, did a fabulous job and was very helpful at every step of the planning process. In the end, our wedding turned out great and she was very accomodating and even upgraded us to the Presidential Suite on our wedding night.

However, the rest of the hotel and staff had many issues and while I would highly recommend Susanna, I am lukewarm about the Marriott.

Here are the good things about the Marriott:
- The location is great. Very convenient to the airport, to Old San Juan nightlife, and the beach (right outside the hotel).
- The hotel itself is very nice. We had a beautiful ocean view room before moving to the amazing Presidential suite, and both rooms were great. The amenities are also great - we used their gym and spa, and our guests liked the pool. We also had our rehearsal dinner in their Ristorante Tuscany's private room, which was fantastic - the food was good, and all of our guests had a great time. There are also lots of great photo ops around the hotel, which our photographer took full advantage of.
- The food for the reception was fantastic. We didn't get to taste it ahead of time, but Susanna met with us at their La Vista Grill and let us taste that in lieu of an official tasting - all of which was great.
- The space they had for our wedding was beautiful and convenient. The event flowed right from the terrace outstide to the indoor foyer, then the ballroom, which was highly convenient for us and our guests (most of whom stayed at or nearby the hotel).
