Just an absolute dream location. You have the acreage, vine filled trellis, fountain, pond, boat and even a swan! Completely reliable staff, gorgeous setting (several guests said this was their favorite wedding venue they had been too), and just overall a dream come true. Highly recommend this venue!

The Sanders estate was an amazing venue for a wedding. The staff worked very hard to make our day as stress free as possible and did an amazing job. Our guests can't stop taking about how beautiful the venue was. There is a ton of space for guests to enjoy the scenery all along the property with a home away from home feeling. My wife and I couldn't have chosen a better venue!

This venue was amazing, and all of our guests told us we picked a wonderful location for our wedding. The grounds were absolutely beautiful (you can see Mt. Rainier from the property!!), and I can't say enough about the charm and natural beauty of the location. The mansion itself is lovely and makes for some wonderful photo ops. The ceremony, cocktail tent and reception are located in three different locations on the grounds, which made for a very nice flow to the evening, while allowing our guests to see different parts of this beautiful property as well. One of our favorite moments was taking the rowboat out for pictures...after the ceremony of course! The venue staff wanted to make sure we didn't take an accidental swim beforehand. They really did think of everything.

My fiancé and I were assigned a venue coordinator, Diana, to work with, and she was awesome. I always felt very well informed about all venue-related details, and I especially appreciated her prompt responses to my many questions, whether it be via e-mail or phone. The venue owner, Robert, was also really easy to work with .

While the cost of the venue may seem a little pricey upon first glance, there weren't any hidden fees we had to deal with later on down the road. The price of the tents, tables, chairs set-up and tear-down was included in our rental, which was one less thing we had to worry about renting separately. They also include a golf cart with the rental (no extra charge!) for guests that might have difficulty walking around the grounds, which was a really nice touch.

Since this is an all outdoors venue, I was a little worried about rain, but luckily our wedding day dawned bright and sunny. I am confident, however, if it had rained, our wedding would have been just as wonderful because the staff at Sanders is very well-prepared with an excellent rain plan.

Sanders also provided great vendor recommendations. They recommended our caterer (ACT 3 - delicious food, wonderful service) and

This venue is incredibly beautiful! However, the people managing and in charge of things the day of your wedding are not very easy to work with. I was lucky and had an amazing family that dealt with all the BS from them. I didn't know what had gone on until we got back from our honeymoon. The woman that was our "venue manager" for the day of our wedding was very "snobbish" and hard for my family to work with. Unfortunately, during meetings prior to our wedding date we did not see this side of her. We knew that things were "more strict" here because it is a historical site but she was messing up how we had discussed to set up the reception tent and such. She was also suppose to be available during our entire event in the case that we needed something from her... We never saw her once the ceremony began! She was no where to be found. And things we were told prior to the date were no longer true the day of. We were told we could put our belongings on the deck of the house and get them after the ceremony but then I found out she was yelling at my family to take all the stuff off the deck and put it in our vehicles.

You also have to use vendors off of their vendor list... If you don't you have to pay extra!

We really are not bad people and we were very careful to follow all of their rules... but it didn't seem like that was even enough. So I would recommend this place to ppl who are looking to have a very prim and proper wedding... but if you want more of a "party" reception I would suggest looking else where first!

This venue is a hidden gem. I wanted a venue near the city but I also wanted an outdoor wedding; preferably at an estate with good scenery, a tent with a capacity for 150 & water nearby. This place had it all. The first time I viewed Sanders Estate, it was pouring down rain in November, but I instantly fell in love with it. The owner (Robert) acquired the estate 6 years prior & had restored the house & the grounds. It is on 35 acres of private land, open fields surrounded by trees... 2 ponds (1 with a swan, 1 with rose bushes)... a cocktail tent & a reception tent... a pergola heavy with vines of wisteria... & of course the Estate which is a very large & beautiful 100-yr-old home. Once I saw the grounds I knew it was the place for our wedding & booked it immediately. Then I spent the next 10 months praying for no rain on 8/12! As it turned out, on our wedding day it was a glorious 83 degrees. Our ceremony started at 5:30pm & the trees surrounding the venue kept everyone in the shade, which was PERFECT for photos. No squinting faces, no exposed heads to the sun beating down, just lovely sunlight breaking through leaves; creating pools of light across the open field behind us. The staff helped us with much of the transition of items at the ceremony that needed to be moved to the reception tent, which was done seamlessly. All in all, my wedding was perfect & the best day of my life; the venue was in its most glorious state & I couldn't have been a happier bride...The whole thing put me on cloud 9 & over 1 month later, I still haven't come down off the high!!!

A few suggestions for future brides at this venue: hire a day-of-coordinator and the help of friends & family. If I could have a "re-do" the only thing I would change is I would buy more time beyond the 8 hrs; it just wasn't enough time & we were having such an incredible day 8 hrs seemed way too short. Other than that, on a scale of 1-10, I give it an 11!!!!!!

A gorgeous wedding venue!!! We booked over a year in advance because once we saw the place, we absolutely had to have our wedding there. We didn't decorate much, because the grounds are great the way they are. Robert (owner) and his staff do a great job and they are always working to make the place better. Our guests raved about how great the Sanders Mansion property was. They enjoyed exploring the property and taking photos in front of the mansion, of the pond, the pergola, the flower gardens, the rose pond, etc. It was a million times better than being stuck in a banquet hall somewhere. Lindsay ended up being our day of contact. She really helped us a lot and put my mind at ease about how the day would go. She fielded my crazy bride questions perfectly. I had a little trouble with communication in the months closer to the wedding, but it's pretty understandable because my wedding was toward the end of the busy summer wedding season. Every vendor I had was very busy in the months of May through August. I did feel the pricing was a little high, but not high enough to make me go elsewhere.

This place is amazing! The grounds are beautiful. Robert is great to work with.

They are a bit strict (although I dont blame them, some weddings can get out of control), but if you want a lot of flexibility this is not the place. If you are looking for an outdoor wedding that has the most amazing senery, then this is the place. My pictures almost look fake because its so beautiful.

I booked my wedding venue a year and a half out. I had been working with Robyn, and Robert (who are both great) until a week before my wedding. I had gone over every single detail possible with them. Then a week before my wedding I get a call from one of their other event planners, and she tells me that she will be working on my wedding. I had to go over EVERYTHING with her, and when it came to the day of the wedding, there were still questions that she needed answers to that I had gone over previously.

Overall, this place is great, and I would do it all over again without changing much. I do recommend the Sanders Mansion!

I was fortunate that my wedding was in May. If you are not getting married in the "high season" you get the run of the whole place for the cost of just the upper tent area. Usually the lower tent is about a thousand dollars more.

The grounds are gorgeous!! Robert keeps them looking wonderful and he's always adding something new. Right before we got married, he got swans for his pond and his staff is working on training them so they will swim or walk where you are so you can get them in your wedding pictures if you want.

Robyn, the coordinator is very professional and much more laid back than Robert (who is a very type A personality, but that's a good thing for the most part.) She was very helpful and patient. She responds very quickly to email and phone calls. She was there on the day of my wedding to direct the staff. They were all very professional and helpful as well.

I wanted an outdoor wedding, but the NW weather was not cooperating during the week leading up to the ceremony. Thankfully they were willing to wait till the last second to make a decision and even then, if it had rained, they would have been able to move the chairs under the tent.

This venue is on the expensive side for the area, especially if you are getting married in the high season and you need the lower tent. They have done weddings of up to 300 people, but if you're using the tent and expect to have everyone under cover, 150 people was very tight. You can rent additional tents from their preferred vendors but they're very expensive as well.

They have a preferred vendor list for catering with about four or five caterers listed. Some of them are very expensive, but there are moderately priced options. You cannot provide your own food however, so if you want to self cater or have your family or friends cater the reception, this is not the place for you.

For the cost of the venue, I do think that they should offer someone to help get your wedding party down the isle for the actual ceremony. They offer wedding planning assistance, but for an additional cost. For what you spend, I would think they could at least offer a little help to direct the wedding party down the isle.

This site allows only beer, wine and champagne, no hard alcohol.

I would absolutely recommend them as long as you don't mind spending a bit more on your venue for the picturesque grounds. I would get married her again in a heartbeat.

A word to the wise; by the time I had my May 22nd wedding, they were booked every weekend through September. I booked the venue in October and they only had two May dates left. You want to plan ahead if you want to get married here.

The first time we toured Sanders Mansion we knew it was the one. It had the elegant outdoor charm we were looking for. The planning went great with Robert and Kim, they were very accommodating to us and helped us with every question we had. Kim went out of her way the week before the wedding and the day of the wedding to make sure things got taken care of, including letting my dad bring industrial size fans the day before the wedding because it was going to be 90+ degrees out. She really was amazing to us!

I gave them a 3.5 out of 5 for responsiveness because there were a few emails that took awhile to get replied to and they took awhile to call my future father in law back about a time sensitive question and he was not to happy about it.

I also gave them less stars for value of cost because we had to add on the lower tent option and it ended up being a lot more then we had budgeted for (we toured before it was built and the cost of adding it on was unknown at the time).

Overall though I would highly recommend having your wedding here, it gives you great outdoor options but the tents give you a great backup incase of rain.

This place was absolutely great! Robert is extrememly helpful and, although he is new at this, he tries to make every wedding exactly what the couple wants. Each time we went to visit the mansion it looked better and better and by the time our wedding rolled around it was so beautiful. There are so many different areas to hold the ceremony, reception, and take pictures. The pictures turned out beautifully and everyone had a wonderful time.

It is a very beautiful location with so many great spots to take pictures and a very nice back drop to a wedding ceramony. They tried to accomodate us and were very helpful about letting us get decorations up. It would be very hard to find a more beautiful spot for a wedding!
