Ashley and Alex from Par 4 Management, as well as the staff at Silverstone were incredible!
After the original wedding coordinator left just a few weeks before the wedding, Ashley stepped in and took over. I was worried that things were just going to go downhill. She had only a few weeks to review all the details and meet with me. As busy as she was, she made the day AMAZING! Everything was perfect for our wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out great. They were able to fulfill all of my special requests and last minute changes. I loved that they were checking in with me throughout the day before the ceremony, just to make sure I was doing alright, and to see if I needed anything. I am so happy with the service I received from EVERYONE at Silverstone!

I was a little shocked when I read the other October reviews because I had a FABULOUS experience with Silverstone Golf Club. I worked with Courtney to plan all the details of my event. She was very helpful and even helped me save money with a few of her ideas and suggestions. We recently learned we are expecting a little addition to our family and I will definitely be having my baby shower at the club.

I was invited to SGC's Open House by Tanya, their previous Director of Catering and Special Events. The venue was beautiful. We signed the event contract and placed the security deposit on the same day, with Tanya assuring us that we would be able to work out every detail to make our wedding memorable.

A month later, I found out that Tanya no longer worked there and Courtney is now her replacement. Courtney and I met a couple of weeks later and the experience with SGC began to go down south. Things that were verbally promised by Tanya were not honored by Courtney. I read on WeddingWire that a previous SGC bride had the same issue. For example, Tanya mentioned that a cake cutting set along with some organza/tulle will be provided for decorations. These were items that were left behind by previous brides and she had no problem lending them to me. With Courtney, she told me that the cake cutting set was taken home by a previous bride and the decorations looked worn out, so she threw them away. It would now be up to me to purchase my own. Additionally, since I attended their Open House, I am not entitled to a menu tasting and if I wish to have one, I would have to pay for it. A menu tasting is a norm (compared to other venues in town and across the country), especially after the bride has placed a deposit. We had a conference call with Courtney's supervisor, Scott (who is the Director of F&B). Scott and Courtney told me that the Open House was my tasting and that I have already taken up my portion of their cost. What about the cost for brides that did not book? What a way to penalize brides that have made a financial commitment to book with SGC! Scott eventually told me that I had to "work within the lines" and that because he "didn't want to argue" anymore, he agreed to provide us with a menu tasting.

At the menu tasting, Scott was supposed to be there to walk us through the tasting as Courtney was out of town. He never showed up. There were flies circulating our food and the server had to get plates from the kitchen to cover our food because we were busy swatting flies away from the food rather than tasting. Chef Carlos came to touch base with us and apologized about the flies. According to him, he has brought the flies issue to management for quite some time and they did not fix the issue.

On the actual wedding day, I felt that Courtney was helpful and professional. Everyone had a good time and we all ended the night on a happy note.

After my wedding, Courtney e-mailed me that there was a fire at my head table and a table next to us. None of my guests, vendors and including myself, noticed any fire. According to Courtney, her staff witnessed the fire during dinner and it was able to burn the tables. Due to the fire, Courtney charged me for 2 tables, 5 table linens and 2 napkins. She sent me pictures of the damages and based on the pictures, only the napkins were justifiable to be replaced (and maybe 2 table linens). I replied to her e-mail and asked for further proof of damages. I was also willing to stop by SGC since I live in the same city. There was no response from either her or Scott. Over a week later, I checked my credit card account and found that they went ahead to charge my credit card on file for the damages. I e-mailed her for a receipt and asked if I could pick-up the two tables that SGC claimed were damaged. Courtney sent me a copy of the receipt and said the tables have been discarded.

My planning process with SGC was very stressful. I remained with SGC until the end because they were within my budget and I did not want to lose the deposit I had placed with them. The stress continued after the event, and I, the customer, had to pay the price. My experience with SGC is very disappointing. No bride deserves the stress that SGC generated, and I would recommend others to save their time and money by having their event at another venue.

In the beginning of talking with Par 4 Events, there was some miscommunication with the prior Coordinator, whom subsequently was eventually no longer with the company. At which point Courtney took over and she was great to work with, she replied in a timely matter etc. We only had our ceremony at Badlands, not our reception. Courtney was not able to be our Coordinator for the day of, but instead Scott the Beverage Manager was going to handle everything, which was a little disheartening that Courtney wasn’t going to be there as she had been handling everything, but we went with it. Courtney had to handle a rehearsal at Silverstone. The day before we were to fly out to Vegas, I was told there was bad news, Scott had a family emergency so he could not be our Coordinator. So they had an employee, Sarah, take over, she had her wedding at Badlands, we were meeting with her the day before to go over everything and were assured everything would go as planned. It did not.

The day of was pretty chaotic, the set up of our wedding was not how it should have been which resulted in major things going wrong. I had a circle of rose petals that us and the officiate were to be standing in the middle of, we had 12,000 petals. The officiate was not in the right place, he was behind the unity candle table which was not in the circle. The chairs curved around the circle so we were supposed to be in the center of everyone for a more intimidate setting. Since the officiate was not in the circle when we walked down we also were not in it. Which defeated our whole purpose of the petals and also made our rose petal toss not work as we were too far away. I even made rose petal bags for the petals, for the purpose of the rose petal toss. I was such a nervous wreck my mind was obviously elsewhere at the time, so I wasn’t even thinking straight and that we were in the wrong spot. Plus even if I did all the sudden realize it, that would have looked a little odd to stop the ceremony to move the officiate where he should be etc. Sarah and Badlands had a typed up diagram of where everything should go, this was gone over multiple times. I was also left alone in the office before I was to walk out which was extremely nerve-wracking. Sarah came in to ask ME where my dad was, I’m like yeah I’d like to know too!

Now I don’t blame Sarah at all, she was totally thrown into it. But really what they should have done is have Sarah or someone else handle the rehearsal at Silverstone once Scott was unable to attend, after all that was just a rehearsal. Ours was our ceremony that only happens once. But they did not do that. Basically we paid $700 for about $100 of chair rentals, set up of the unity candle table and linen, use of their grounds for a couple hours, and most importantly a Coordinator to run the ceremony which we did not get. We were very disappointed after this happened that Par 4 did not try to make this right, they basically said they fulfilled their part, and that was it. Is the most important thing that we’re married, of course, but the reality is we do spend a lot of time and money in planning our weddings, so I’m sorry but this does matter. If I would have known there would have been an inclination of this, I would have hired an outside coordinator to handle our day.

My suggestion to other brides is DO NOT have only your ceremony only at one of these locations, since they weren’t getting any big money out of us like they would if we had our reception there, we were basically put on the backburner, in essence taken advantage of. Trust me, I so wish I could be writing a better review.

I just had my wedding here in May, 2011 and mostly everything went well. About 2 months before my wedding I received an e-mail from the new wedding coordinator telling me that the planner I had worked with the whole time was no longer with the company and that she was the new contact. Which of course freaked me out, so I immediately replied to the e-mail, only to get an out of office! So you can imagine my frustration at that point. I know it was not the new planners fault and she was taking on the task of completing all of these weddings she wasn’t familiar with, but it did in fact have an impact on my wedding. A lot of the planning with the prior planner was verbal and so were some of the agreements, such as letting us stay at the bar a little bit later with some beer and wine on the house if our group wasn’t big drinkers and the ceremony fee to be waived. One of the main reasons we picked the Silverstone was because of her flexibility on things like that so to change that right before my wedding was very unsettling. When it comes to the wedding itself, things went pretty well. I had chosen a color with the first planner of a bright green that she was going to order from another vendor that they didn’t usually work with and when the second one confirmed the color with me over the phone, I of course said yes, we already picked it. So, the day of the wedding when I walked in and saw a florescent green all of the tables and stuff, my heart sort of dropped.. but, what are you going to do? No changing it now! A few other minor things happened, such as the wedding cake from Creations Bakery looked incredible, and when the chief from Silverstone went to put the cake toppers on it, he broke the top of the cake and didn’t offer to do anything to fix it. I like to think I was a laid back bride and thought again, “there’s no fixing it now!” My awesome florist was able to hide the cracks with some small extra petals she had.. but still! He broke the top of my cake and didn’t even acknowledge it!! Lastly, we had 4 hours of open bar for an 85 person wedding and towards the end of the evening they only had 1 bartender working, so when the DJ called last call she told people, including my sister and maid of honor, that they missed it and it was now a cash bar. I know she was overwhelmed and think she may have been calling a cab for one of my guests, but she was crouched on the ground for 5 mins ignoring the line of people at the bar!!
My wedding itself was incredible. A lot of people worked really hard in setting up the room and I think the coordinator was the one to line up all of the props I had for my photo booth. All and all, it was incredible. The Silverstone definitely has the view, the food, and a great price for what you get.. it just seems like a few things could have been a bit more coordinated. I would still recommend this place without a doubt, I think they just need to address some of these issues for their future weddings.

We had an amazing time at our wedding at Silverstone Golf Club! The venue is absolutely breath taking and allowed for some amazing photos to remember the day! The food was delicious and the guests died over the cake! I was initially worried about 50 guests in the venue as I was concerned they would all get lost, but it was perfect...it would be amazing with more. We had a dud for a bartender but that was really about it...everything can't be perfect! I would highly recommend this venue for a beautiful wedding or event!

Loved working with the new coordinator Courtney Howard at Silverstone Golf Club. After a change in staff, she was very professional in making sure I didn't feel the change in staff so close to my very important day!

I love the fact that she was very responsive and very easy to talk to and would be so kind to offer advice when I nearly lost my mind towards the end of my planning.

The event went smoothly, but I am a bit disappointed in the staff that worked my event. A few were a bit rude, didn't pay attention to the needs of the couple and a few important guests.

I would DEFINITELY recommend Silverstone Golf Club! It's beautiful, it's affordable, and Courtney has GREAT taste and is so sweet!!!!!
