Old, new, borrowed and blue, our specialty is facilitating every detail to create the perfect wedding experience. Abby's professional experience comes from directing over 150 Weddings and Special Events for the W Hotel in Chicago and Scottsdale, AZ as well as Social Hollywood in Los Angeles and St. Paul College Club in Minnesota. My now husband and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Abby LaDuke for our wedding planning. I feel so blessed to have crossed with Abby because not only is she a delight to work with but her positivity in every situation is contagious! Abby truly made our "dream" wedding come true and she took every extra step to make sure that the day went smoothly. We were married in Downtown Chicago and I was somewhat new to the city but Abby was able to connect me to the most amazing vendors. My husband and I both have pretty busy work schedules and she was so flexible with everything. From coordinating vendor appointments to the day of she made wedding planning so much fun and so stress-free!! Our wedding day truly was the BEST day ever and I can't thank Abby enough for all of her help :-) I give her the highest recommendation there is!!

Laura James did an amazing job as an on the day wedding coordinator. She ensured all of the aspects of preparation, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner ran smoothly. She took the to effectively make the right decisions in the absence of guidance. Laura was a pleasure to work with and was especially helpful with recommending a fantastic officiant for the ceremony and band for our cocktail hour. Laura James is a wonderful wedding coordinator and I highly recommend her. I was on a tight budget and originally decided to do all my wedding planning myself even though I live far away from where we wanted to get married. However, when my first venue gave my date away to another couple I had a mini meltdown and decided it was time for professional help. Laura recommended some places that were in my budget, visited them for me, and sent me pictures she took during her tour along with her personal thoughts on each aspect of each venue. I was able to pick a venue off of this without visiting it myself. Most of the details and of my wedding went this way, with me far away trying to envision it. Laura had wonderful ideas that were realistic for my budget. Our wedding came out so perfect, much better than I could have expected given our budget and for that I will always be grateful! She helped me all along the way, keeping me on time with the planning. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Laura James! She is awesome!

Laura goes above and beyond at every opportunity. I purchased the day-of coordinator package but Laura met with me ahead of time, worked with me to put together a timeline and facilitated my ceremony rehearsal the day before. She was organized, responsive, professional, knowledgeable and friendly during out time together. She also looked just beautiful the night of the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, blending right in with the guests as she worked her magic.

Laura was a life saver on my wedding day - worth every penny and more. She got along famously with my bridal party and family. She helped arrange the centerpieces and handled anything that I needed quickly and with a smile. If I could do my wedding over again, I would make sure to get Laura again.

Even though I am a planner by nature and was trying to keep the wedding costs as low as possible, my venue required that I find a coordinator and I am so glad they did so that Laura could be there foe me on my special day.

My husband and I moved from LA to NY in January of last year and our wedding was November. We had less than a year to plan a wedding across the country while working full time at new jobs. When we got to the 5 or 6 month mark, we surrendered and knew we needed help. Before that point I was unsure of hiring a planner. While the idea of having someone alleviate some of this extra work sounded wonderful, it was a luxury I didn't think we could afford.
I was given Abby's name by two separate sources. From the Victorian on Maine St (which was a wonderful venue) and from a workmate. I emailed Abby to introduce myself and ask a few questions and she replied immediately. What I really appreciated was that she was flexible and really wanted to help us in whatever way we needed and honestly, could afford. Throughout the process, I really felt like she was either phone, email, or skype available. She was with us for the dress rehearsal and the day of. Also, she helped with finding hotels for out of town guests and scheduling room blocks. She also gave suggestions for cake places and completely handled the name cards. These were the tasks that we just couldn't seem to get done from out of town and or ran out of time in those final moments. Most important for me during the process was that I really felt like there was someone watching over my progress and making sure I stayed on track. Before that I kept fearing that something was going to slip through the cracks. Knowing that she was seeing the whole picture and was experienced in this process helped me immensely.
I will never forget how nervous I was on the day. But I knew that all I had to do was manage myself, for she was going to make sure all the logistics worked out. She did and I was so grateful for her calming and positive attitude. As the reception fell into full swing, I knew we were running a bit late. I would ask her about how we were doing on time and she'd always say that we were ok. She never rushed us, and if there was ever a problem we didn't know it.
I feel extremely lucky to have found Abby and I will always remember the happy, smiling angel who held my hand through this huge life event.

It was a bit of fate and synergy that brought me to Abby and I'm so thankful! I met with a few coordinators trying to find the right person to help me with my wedding, and as soon as I met Abby I was sure she was the one. I hired Abby to be my Day of Coordinator as well as to help me with my out of town guests and welcome dinner. She was great, and I know for sure the wedding would not have gone as planned without her! What sets Abby apart is she really does love what she does, and her enthusiasm for working with clients is always evident. She feels like a friend from the minute you meet her. She's very relaxed and friendly, which I knew were important attributes to help the day go smoothly, but she's also super organized and on the ball. She was always quick to respond to my questions and she took initiative to get me on track when I was procrastinating. I knew as well that my family would be very comfortable around her on the wedding day, which I think is really important for keeping stress levels down. In addition, I DIY'd a lot of my wedding and Abby was instrumental in making the vision come to life on the big day. She helped me above and beyond what a day of coordinator should do! I know that I will stay in touch with Abby and I consider her a friend. As a bride, I was very proud of how organized and detail oriented I was, so I was surprised when my venue suggested I get a "Day Of" Wedding Coordinator to help things run smoothly. "How can we add another expense?" I thought. I looked online at coordinators and many of them were priced out of my range. My girlfriend, who was also getting married, suggested Abby. The price was reasonable and I was overjoyed! After meeting her, I new it would be a great fit. Abby is warm, kind, and enthusiastic. Abby coordinated with my vendors and family and handled every detail of my day. She also ran my wedding rehearsal without a hitch. Many Brides had told me to remember to "Be in the Moment". With Abby, I was able to do just that. My Husband and I had the BEST DAY! The best thing I could have done for myself was hire Abby.

Abby from Something Blue Wedding Company was our wonderful "day-of" wedding coordinator. She was attentive to our planning process from the moment we first met. She was on top of our schedule and continued to stay in touch almost weekly until our event. This was certainly beyond her job duties since we only hired her for one day's worth of effort. She met with us a week before the event at the hotel to run through everything. She made recommendations for rehearsal dinner locations and always did so with a good and fun attitude. Abby really came through on the wedding day. She was there for at least 10 hours. She did basically everything. She helped with flowers, chuppah design and set-up, table set up, etc. If I were to list everything she helped with on the wedding day, it would take over 2 pages. One major helpful service related to our multiple ipods and sound system. Abby managed everything. She was friendly with everyone at the wedding party. I felt that I underpaid once the event was over and thought Abby deserved more based on her hard work. I would recommend that everyone use Abby. She will perform above and beyond expectation.
