St. Anthony's Bridal is a non-profit organization aimed at helping brides with small budgets afford their weddings. For example, brides with budgets less than $3,000 (I think?) for their entire wedding can borrow a used wedding dress for free. However, ANYONE can purchase a dress from them and all of their dresses are $300 or less, most of them being $150. Don't go expecting a typical bridal experience - they are only open on Saturday mornings for two hours and you have to search through roughly-organized dresses yourself and try them on yourself as well. I would definitely recommend bringing a friend or family member to help you search and get dressed. While this may not be for everyone, if you commit to the search process (even going back multiple weekends, since they get dozens of newly donated dresses every week), you can really strike gold! The dress I found is a designer dress that retails at over $1,500 new. It only had a little dirt on the bottom hem and a few buttons that needed to be re-sewn and I got it for $150. And since I spent so little on the actual dress, I was able to afford to have major changes made to the dress to customize it and make it my own unique dress! I am so glad I found St. Anthony's Bridal and would really recommend everyone check it out if you're on a tight budget and don't mind a) wearing a used dress and b) having a "thrift store" experience as you search for it.

If you are looking for a preowned/donated dress at a great price with a good-sized selection, then this is the place for you! All wedding gowns are only $150 and they have affordable accessories as well. The volunteer staff here are terrific. My mom and I initially had some trouble figuring out how to tie the corset back to a dress and they helped us learn how to do it. They then brought me dresses that they thought I would like based on the first dress I picked out. They allow you to put dresses on hold for a week or two (great if you need some time to decide and get the money together). They clearly enjoy helping brides feel beautiful, and they treat everyone with dignity and respect. After trying on some other dresses, I ended up getting the first dress I tried on! The label says Maggie Sottero, no alterations were required, and I got a matching veil for $15. Very good quality for much cheaper than David's Bridal. Even if my dress hadn't been there I found another one that I think would have gotten. Though I didn't need one, they told me that they have a seamstress who can do alterations.

The location is a bit hard to find and they are only open for a couple of hours per week. If you are looking for a designer dress then you may get lucky, or you may not. But if you're just looking for a wedding gown that makes you feel beautiful at an amazing price, then this place is definitely worth a visit. And perhaps best of all, your money goes toward helping couples with smaller budgets have wonderful weddings.

Make sure you bring cash or checks, as they do not take cards

I bought my wedding dress at St Anthony's Bridal and my husband-to-be donated his late wife's gown there. We were so pleased to put her dress to a good cause and I loved the dress I bought. It's a charity with the shortness of staff and lack of space you can expect at a small charity. So come prepared to be patient and dig a bit. If you want a salon experience this is not the place. I, however, hated the salon experience and loved this. I had room in my budget for more important things, a dress got a second life, my husband's late wife's dress went to a good cause (which we believe she would love), and we contributed to a meaningful local charity. It's a win all the way around.

I went to St. Anthony's Bridal with my sister not really expecting to find a dress, but more out of curiosity. I had been dress shopping for awhile and was convinced that I was never going to have 'that moment' when you find the perfect dress. However the ladies at St. Anthony's Bridal were so helpful and very excited to help me find a great dress. Though there is a smaller selection for small dress sizes, I found an amazing ABS Allen Schwartz dress in my size that I absolutely fell in love with! All of the dresses here are clean and very well taken care of. And the $150 price cannot be beat. In fact, I planned on donating the dress back after my wedding - but I love it so much I decided to keep it!

I donated a gown and accessories to this 'charity' in January. I included, per their instructions, a completed donor form and SASE so they could acknowledge my contribution. I have proof of delivery from UPS but have never received my acknowledgement, despite several phone calls and e-mails. This is AWFUL.

St. Anthony's Bridal is the perfect place for brides-to-be to select from an array of wedding gowns which fits their budget. Why spend $600 on a dress when you can buy one just as pretty or prettier for $150? I got my dress & shoes at St. Anthony's Bridal for under $200. I was one happy bride AND I loved my dress along with my guests but most importanly my groom. If you are on a (tight) budget for your wedding but still want a nice dress (or shoes, veil, etc), I would suggest St. Anthony's Bridal.

I got a fantastic wedding dress for only $150 plus tax at St. Anthony's. This is an awesome non-profit organization that makes it possible for brides with a small budget to have a spectacular wedding by renting out reception items for free. The organization runs donations and the selling of donated wedding dresses.

I bought a beautiful strapless, ballgown-style Maggie Sottero gown with a lovely train that looked amazing once bustled up as well. On my wedding day, I felt like a princess, and everybody (seriously everybody!) told me what a fantastic dress it was!

When I went to look at dresses, the volunteers at St. Anthony's were super friendly and accommodating. Plus, they were probably as excited about my wedding as I was! The selection of gowns is superb, and each dress is only $150 plus tax. I tried on at least 5-6 gowns before I decided on the one that I wore on my wedding day; and all of them were wonderful as well.

AMAZING!!!! A huge selection of used wedding dresses you can either rent (for free) or buy (for $150). They have all sorts of sizes and styles, I actually almost had too many options! In the end I found a LOVELY dress not quite in my size, so I bought it and had it slightly altered and pressed (adding another $150, still a super reasonable price for a wedding dress). It was the perfect dress at the perfect price for the perfect day.

If you are on a tight budget, you have to go to St. Anthony's Bridal. They are fabulous!! You can buy any of their dresses for $150, even if it's a brand new dress with a $2000 tag on it! All of their dressed are donated, either by previous brides or local bridal shops. Some are new, some have been worn. They had some extremely gorgeous dresses. Besides the dress, you can put down a $200 deposit that is fully returnable if you return everything the Saturday after your wedding. You don't even have to buy the dress, you can return it for free as well, but it helps them cover costs if you buy it since they are nonprofit. They lent me all the tablecloths, centerpieces, candles, string lights, tulle, chair sashes and so much more. I picked it up a week before my wedding and returned it a week later cleaned and ready for the next bride. We had a gorgeous wedding for next to nothing and it never would have been possible without St. Anthony's!! Also, you can donate any of your wedding paraphenalia afterwards to help them out and they appreciate volunteers. They even have bridesmaid dresses that your girls can borrow, some flowergirl dresses and little suits for the ring bearers. You can have any of the clothes you borrow altered to fit you perfectly, as long as you return it clean and ready for the next person to use. They are incredible and their website has a ton of information on affordable local vendors. You have to visit their website if you are planning a wedding!

I helped with coordinating a very low cost wedding for my cousin. I stumbled on St. Anthony's Bridal (located in Rockville, Maryland, www.stanthonysbridal.com) through Craigslist. For weddings with budgets at $3,000 or less, they will permit brides to borrow (at no cost) from a very large selection of wedding supplies, from dresses to charger plates. In our case, the bride was borrowing her dress, underpinnings, veil, tiara, jewelry and shoes from relatives. We borrowed 60 gold charger plates, a gorgeous silver cake stand, a pair lovely toasting flutes and cake knife set (originally from Things Remembered), and silk topiaries to use as table card holders. We also borrowed pink chair bows but didn't end up using them because of a mishap with the restaurant where the reception was being held. My cousin reserved her date with a $100 deposit. The St. Anthony of Rockville is only open on Saturday mornings, so she picked up her items the Saturday before the wedding, and is returning them this coming weekend. This organization is a wonderful resource to brides who just aren't able to afford the costs associated with a wedding.
