My sister handled most of the communication with the owner, who was suffering from some medical issues but still took good care of us--it sometimes took her awhile to get back to us, but she deserves a lot of slack given the situation. She gave us a very good price on a nice picnic meal: spinach salad, pasta salad, fresh fruit, and a choice of hummus and chicken (fried or grilled) wraps, with iced tea and lemonade to drink. The only issue that came up was that she didn't let us know they had a 40 person minimum for catering until we inquired about dropping our number to 35, so we just paid for 40 people's worth of food--still cheap, at $568 ($12/person plus $50 delivery to Valley of Fire, plus Clark County's 8.1% sales tax).
She told my sister they'd done a lot of Valley of Fire weddings, since Overton is so close--she steered us away from an initial suggestion of potato salad, which was smart; she told us they try to avoid mayonnaise for outdoor events between April and October.
She was very good about delivering the food to our chosen picnic area within the park and helping my sister's BF, who went early to the picnic area, set up; they also provided all serving utensils and containers as items that we could either trash or keep, so no hassle of returning anything. Finally, they provided enough plastic champagne flutes to cover the reception we had in Vegas afterward, and let us use their liquor distributor to order our preferred brand of sparkling wine. The food was tasty and kept very well (some members of the wedding party had some leftovers for breakfast the next day, actually), and we really appreciated the help with the wine.
