NO...!!!
What is your usual attire?
Tuxedo
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
I ensure that, given enough time, I will have the client's song.
How many other DJs do you work with?
Right now I work with 4 other dj's in my area.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
4 hours is the minimum because will ensure I can get in everything my client wants.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
All meet with client before booking unless they are out of town in which case I have them send a family or friend to meet with me before booking my service.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
I try to please my clients in all styles both ethnic and/or international events.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
I ask my client to submit a do-not-play. I wouldn't want a play a song which may have bad memories for them, family or friends.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes I bring my own equipment and ensure that it is in working order hours before the event begins.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
If a client is wanting a disco balls or any other special item I will ensure to provide it for them.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Generally it takes me 30 minutes to setup once I get to the event location. I always bring a table with me in case one isn't provided.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
Depending on the size of the event and equipment required, general a 6 feet by 6 feet area will be just fine.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
Sorry, that would be a no. If and only when a quests ask for a card will I provide one to them.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I will MC a event and only to the point of passing out information to the guests as far as letting them know what is coming up next. I don't find a need to talk between songs.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
This is a great question and one that is asked all the time by my clients and without going into details right now I can tell you this. It takes more the a DJ/MC to motivate a crowd and help my clients understand what we all need to do to make this happen.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Generally, events in California run between 4 to 6 hours which gives me enough time to eat before and later after the event. I don't take breaks because songs needs to be adjust and change as the event continues. I work off a play list from the client but I need to select which song goes with the moment.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Again, I don't take breaks and my event continue to run from the moment the bride and groom gets there all the way to the last song.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I come the double equipment. Double backup music, speakers, mixers, sound cards, laptops, hard drives, microphones, etc...
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
No. I did that once but never again...
What is your overtime rate?
That really depends on the event. I can be anywhere from $100 to $300.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
No. All expenses are included in my finial price.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
I ask the same for all events which is $200 retainer fee with the balance being paid two weeks before the event.
