My new husband and I just had our wedding at the Carlisle on Friday, and we could not be happier with our experience. From the beginning of our search process, the staff at the Carlisle (primarily Stephanie and Maureen) were kind, helpful, and timely in getting back to me. From the time we booked them, I must have sent Stephanie close to 50 emails with all sorts of questions, and she was always kind and incredibly thorough with her responses. Another great thing about the Carlisle is that they were extremely flexible and generous with the contract. There were some aspects of different packages that we loved, some that we didn't love, but Stephanie and Maureen worked with us to be sure that the package we decided on (from the appetizers to the food to the liquor to the chair covers) was exactly perfect for our vision. As the wedding date got closer, and with SO many other things to worry about the day of, I knew that the reception hall was in good hands. We had a very large wedding (250+ people), so we had two of the three rooms, and it looked absolutely stunning. Even though I wasn't there to actually set everything up, the Carlisle staff took care of everything, and when we walked in the doors, EVERYTHING was executed exactly as we wanted it to be (things like our place cards, card table, grandparents' photo table, table numbers, favors, etc). As the night went on, the whole staff was attentive to our needs. The bartenders (we had two bars set up because of the size of the wedding) were fabulous, and many of our friends told us how generous they were with the drinks they were making. The biggest and most common compliment we got throughout the night was how delicious the food was. It was SO GOOD. We had the minestrone soup, Carlisle salad, chicken, steak, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with red peppers, and hot fudge sundaes, and all of the guests were raving about everything. I had my wedding here and it was quite disappointing to say the least. The planning process was a joke because when we signed the contract we were told that we would stay with one Event Coordinator which I loved, but they lied. We got pushed to different Coordinators, even part time ones! How the heck am I going to successfully plan my wedding with a part-time coordinator. Especially the part-timer I worked with, Stephanie, seemed to care less. Then there is a coordinator, Maureen, who seems pissed off at the world and she can hardly walk so how the heck is she going to set up for my wedding. The only thing about her was that she was a push over when you complained! She gave us stuff for free (nothing major) which was nice BUT I would have rather had a nice coordinator that was not ready for retirement! When you don't stay with one coordinator things can slip through the cracks and that is exactly what happened!
Then the day of our wedding I was promised a hostess to run our wedding. Well, they lied again. I got an 80 year old MAN that ran our wedding. We hardly saw him and our timing for things were off. I was told the hostess would keep us stay on track and that never happened. We had to line up ourselves with the help of our DJ for our entrance of the wedding party and then it took forever for food to come out. I really don't even think he knew what was going on. No offense to older people but that man should be retired not running weddings!
The wait staff could hardly speak any English and their uniforms looked like they ran through a mud pit and had never seen an iron! And most of them their uniforms didn't even fit, too small. They must not care if their wait staff's appearance is sloppy. The amount of money we paid you would think the wait staff would look presentable, but they didn't. It was embarrassing.
Then they promised us centerpieces and used only one rose.
There is so many venues out there! Do your homework and don't settle!

My wife reviewed and now it is my turn. I am so angry after all the negative things I am still hearing from our guests. In my opinion, RUN DON"T WALK RUN! My opinion, what they promise you they wont deliver the day of your wedding. Management is horrific. Sales Department is a nightmare! We were pushed around by so many other women it was confusing and frustrating, Especially Maureen she seemed like she was pissed at the world! And to try to get a phone call back from her was nearly impossible! Then we worked with a part-timer! What venue has part-timers work there when planning events! And as far as her there are no words, careless! The dinner plates and silverware I expected to be nice, NO, they were used from the 80's! If you do go there make sure they show you what they serve the day of your wedding. My plates and silverware are nicer at home! And the burgundy banquet chairs horrible. Didn't they remodel recently and then they don't spend the money on getting new banquet chairs! Great job, pass the expense to your clients to cover them up or replace them.
Oh our "hostess" was an 80 year old man! Yes an 80 year old man! I didn't think he was going to make it through the evening! That is the hostess we were promised! Our Martini luge was a joke all our guests complained the vodka tasted cheap! Isn't against the law to pour cheap vodka into premium bottles! In my opinion, that is what they might do.
If anything happened that night all we got was "we will take care of it" and never did! Best part was the sewer smell when you walked through the front doors. Welcome guests...somebody just pooped in our lobby!
The carpeting...get new carpeting or have a company come in and clean it!
In my opinion, I wouldn't leave your belongings in the bridal suite, bathroom is shared and doesn't lock! Easy access to your room.
In my opinion, we had high hopes for that day and nothing was delivered of what was promised to us.

The Carlisle did a great job with putting together all our ideas for our wedding day! The food was amazing, the staff was friendly. I highly recommend working with Stephanie. She was so amazing with giving us everything we wanted and somehow making it work with out budget. She's very prompt and always can get in touch with. The Carlisle was phenomenal! Not only did we use this venue for our reception but wedding ceremony as well. One month before the wedding, my on-site coordinator at the Carlisle no longer worked at the venue and I was nervous about who ever they would place us with so close to the wedding, but I could not have been any more satisfied! ALL of the staff were AMAZING! The quality was great! The facility is up to date with a modern feel and I have heard nothing but great things about the food! They were beyond accommodating, making sure they met our every needs. The value was beyond comparison of any other local banquet hall with the same quality! The Carlisle has made my wedding experience one to remember. I am forever grateful for the amazing staff for taking care of us and ensuring that I had the wedding that I ALWAYS dreamed of. From the first meeting with the Carlisle to the day of the wedding they handled every aspect of the wedding perfectly! As Parents of the Bride they were fantastic to work with on the details! I would plan another event with them with out a doubt. We just had our wedding at the Carlisle on Saturday, April 5th. Everything was wonderful! Megan was our planner, and she was so responsive and helpful with everything. The rooms turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our only little complaint is that not all tables got served cake. Other than that, it was amazing! :)
