I couldn't believe all of the comments and compliments we received about our venue. A small place without a website, and the owner doesn't e-mail, it can feel like the best kept secret! Elizabeth Coleman has a great staff that maintain the property and help with a lot of the day of set-up. The property is absolutely beautiful and we had a wedding there that comfortably fit 185. There is also a house on the property that sleeps 16 and it was an amazing opportunity for all of our out of town wedding party to be together for 3 nights. The private pool house is perfect for the bride and groom for the wedding night. I could not have had a more magical and amazing experience!

This venue is truly a GEM. This is one of the most affordable wedding venues we found in all of Sonoma – and we did a lot of searching. We contacted / visited a total of approximately 15 venues before checking out Garden Pavilion – nearly all of which were significantly more expensive than Garden Pavilion. It is a private residence, with several housing structures and barn-esque buildings on the property. There are vineyards, flowers, wisteria…it is rich with natural beauty. Our favorite thing was that we could rent out the huge farm house on the property for 20 of our closest friends and family members. When you book the venue for a Saturday wedding, it is yours from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. There is an additional fee to rent out the farm house, but for us, it was significantly cheaper than it would have been to put everyone up in hotels. There is a separate pool house suite where my husband and I stayed for the weekend – very elegant and private. We held our rehearsal dinner at the property, and we all got ready at the property on Saturday and took photos before the ceremony. Had we wanted to, we could have had a Sunday morning brunch (we opted not to because most of our guests had flights to catch). Elisabeth (the property owner) takes great pride in the space, and it shows! Elisabeth’s daughter, Katharina, was our main POC for the event. She is super responsive on her cell, and she quickly answered all of our questions. Some other key things to note about this venue: Elisabeth encouraged me NOT to hire a wedding planner because she prefers to take care of things herself – loved that! We were allowed to hire any vendor that we wanted for catering, DJ services, etc. – there was no “preferred vendor list.” We were able to provide our own alcohol and choose our vendors freely – this peace of mind and freedom of choice is honestly priceless. One hard rule for the venue – the event has a hard stop at 10:00 pm. Love this place!

This is probably one of the hardest reviews for me to write. If I could rate this on the venue itself it would absolutely be 5 stars. We couldn't have picked a more beautiful place and we were able to have the type of wedding that we both envisioned. The area was full of flowers (warn people to take their allergy meds), and we got so many compliments. So what went wrong? From the very beginning we knew how the owner Elisabeth was. This is her home, she takes great pride in it and we were in complete compliance with her wishes and showed her nothing but respect. Unfortunately we were not given the same in return. I feel like so many of my beautiful moments were interrupting with her "barging". She interrupted my rehersal dinner and requested I fill out paperwork while I was eating. That was after she made us move all of our food because she thought the heat was ruining the table even though we had trivets down and heat was not touching the table. The wedding morning she interruptd the men getting ready as well as us in the bridal suite. And she doesn't knock...she just barges in. She demanded everyone move their cars at that very moment. As I was getting ready to walk down the aisle...seriously it was my turn, she is standing directly in front of me telling me about how the flower girls threw petals on the bridge. I'm sorry but this is my wedding, right in front of me and my father is not where you should be standing. And last but not least...at night time all of the refridgerators were unplugged without warning. That includes the ones in the catering area where we kept all of our left overs as well as the one in the rental house. Hundreds and hundrds of dollers worth of food was ruined. And the kicker...the day I got back from the honeymoon she calls me accusing me of taking a soap dish.

While I had a beautiful wedding, my day was perfect because I married my husband and spent time with my family,I really wish we were treated with more respect.

We completely enjoyed our experience at the Garden Pavilion and could not be happier with everything about our wedding. Elizabeth, the owner, can come off as intimidating but she just wants to make sure her property is taken care of, as she's had bad experiences in the past. She is very accommodating and truly wants your day to be everything you want it to be. Our guests have made so many nice comments on the venue and how beautiful it was, we could not have asked for anything more and wish we could have more parties here in the future.
