My husband and I hosted our wedding reception in the Mission Inn's Grand Parisian Ballroom and could not have been happier with the outcome. Kristi, our assigned coordinator, did not overlook a single detail, and was always quick to respond to emails. Not one thing went wrong over the course of the reception--pretty incredible given all of the moving parts in a wedding.
We also appreciated the recommended vendors list we received when we first booked with the hotel. All of the vendors on this list know each other and have worked with each other at the Mission Inn before. Needless to say, it's amazing how little coordinating you have to do when your vendors already have the routine down!
The food was absolutely incredible. We did the fillet and salmon combo plate--very generous portions, and excellent quality and presentation. Our guests went home very full and very happy. We were also allowed to customize our hors d'oeuvres, and so add another personal touch to our big day.
Of course, the hotel itself is gorgeous. We stayed in the Amistad Suite (definitely worth the splurge if it's in the budget!), and were allowed to take photos anywhere on the premises. Our wedding photos are even more beautiful than we could have imagined. And I know guests really appreciated the opportunity to visit and explore such a beautiful place.
We also reserved a room block for our guests, and found the discount to be very generous (basically 50%). Even many local guests decided to stay the night.
Many people told us that ours was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. If you're looking for a timeless reception venue with options for a range of budgets, then the Mission Inn is your place.

I had my wedding in the St. Francis of Assis Chapel, cocktail hour in the the Atrio and my reception in the Spanish Art Gallery and the venue itself is remarkably beautiful! I have wanted to get married at the Mission Inn since I was a teenager in those exact locations. There is no other venue in the Inland Empire more historic, beautiful, or elegant than the Mission Inn. There is a magical & regal feeling once you step foot in the Historic Hotel. My wedding was planned in 6 weeks and I could not have asked for a better team to work with. My catering manager Ashley Shepard and my coordinator Kristina Pierce were professional, extremely responsive, accommodating and so easy to work with. They made me feel as though they were going to do any and everything to make my wedding perfect or close to it. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the event planning team. The Mission Inn does charge more than your average wedding venue but it is worth every single penny. The ceremony coordinator Molly and Kristina Pierce were such a great team, getting the bridal party together, made sure the decor in my reception was completed and even bustled my wedding gown, what service! I must have thanked them 1,000 times & their reply was always "not a problem, is there anything else we can do?" The banquet captain and servers were top notch, food was served hot, they were always refilling water glasses, champagne glasses, taking finished plates and so helpful with all of our needs. The food is also worth every penny, you truly are providing a fine dining experience for your guests. My wedding was so beautiful thanks to the entire team at the Mission Inn. The historic Spanish architecture of the atrio (courtyard in front of Chapel) and original tiffany stained glass windows in the Chapel and the Galleria ballroom made the most impeccable backdrop for our wedding! I highly recommend accentuating the already beautiful details of the location into your decor. This venue offers everything on location in the package and as customizable as you would like! Yes what a beautiful venue! Needless to say our wedding was a fairytale! As for the pre wedding plans were a bit hectic and crazy at times but if you don't mind a little craziness worth it in the end then this is the place for you!! Everything was so beautiful! Our ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful. The location and theme of the wedding are perfect for a fairy tale wedding. I have both negative and positive feedback about our experience. NEGATIVE: The only problem was with the wedding staff at the hotel. We initially were working with Anderson who is amazing, the rest of his co-workers were horrible. Our reception coordinator was Tina, who was horrible, she was unreachable on numerous occasions, sometimes for days. Victoria was our ceremony coordinator and was always available for our needs. Our rehearsal went perfectly the night before and we were told that our Bridal/Groom suites would be available to us at 1:30 p.m. on our wedding day. WHAT A LIE! When we were ready to walk in another party was in there. Our coordinators then call us minutes later to say that we cannot have until 4pm. 4pm came and the rooms were still not ready. Needless to say, this bride and groom became very frustrated quickly. We had less than an hour in our separate rooms prior to our 6pm ceremony. Ceremony was perfect. When the reception began, Tina dismissed herself knowing that we were so unhappy. Lucky for us, we have a good friend who is a wedding coordinator, immediately took over the task and not a single thing went wrong after that. Sorry Mission Inn, after seeing all the complaints from your prior customers about your wedding coordinators, we knew what to expect from your staff. All you care about is making the money.

POSITIVE: The banquets staff and servers inside taking care of our food and beverages was outstanding. We applaud your service. After the reception was over you packed up our leftover cake and helped us take all of our gifts and miscellaneous items back to our suite. The bell and valet staff was outstanding...thank you all so much for hauling all of our items for the wedding!

Our recommendation to future brides and grooms....make sure you know what you're getting into when selecting this venue!!

The Mission Inn is a beautiful venue to get married. Truthfully, the beauty is solely what makes it so worthwhile. There were some who should get individual credit for going the extra mile like Erin our Wedding coordinator. that you for supporting us on our special day! the complementary room was not that great unless you don't mind that the word complimentary actually means pay for it anyway. It was a little strange seeing the different wedding parties lined up like one after the next but well, to be expected on that day, Valentines Day! Our overall review was that we had the best and most memorable wedding we could have hoped for. slight time and financial difficulties but it didn't overshadow the awesome venue experience.

This is a tough review to write. For the venue location itself, the MI is BEAUTIFUL. Unparalleled views and photo ops. Seriously, there is nothing aesthetically wrong with this place. If you want to book here, I'd HIGHLY recommend also having an outside wedding coordinator, because the wedding offices at the MI have no idea how to coordinate anything. I wish I was exaggerating. Just had my wedding on 9/26/14, and here are the major 10 things that went wrong:

1. In our contract, I was supposed to get the "bridal suite" to get ready in. Night of the rehearsal dinner, I was told another wedding had already booked it and they could give me a conference room to get ready in. No. Way. They eventually booked me in a hotel room to get ready in, which would have been great if not for the fact that MI staff and two guests walked in on me getting ready and accused me of being in wrong room. Then they walked in on my wife as she was getting ready, without knocking or anything. I wish that was all. They eventually moved our stuff from room 318 to room 325 during our reception and in the process lost (or threw away, or stole) several items from us.

2. We paid for an "enhancement package" that never arrived and were supposed to pay for parking for our guests but the MI charged them anyway.

3. The day of the wedding, we had to track down security to get into our reception room to set up, our cake was wrong, and the lighting crew didn't have our information on file.

4. Finally, my wife couldn't walk down the aisle with her father, even after the MI assured us the night prior that she could. She found out seconds before she was going to walk out that they wouldn't both fit.

All in all, the MI is a wedding factory. They churn out more weddings than they can handle. Frankly, I doubt they could even handle one.
