The wedding planner has changed since Oct.'08 and is fantastic.The Hotel is a great location to have a wedding and receptions. Our guests loved it. The staff was great. They were friendly and flexible. The new wedding planner is not only accomodating,but will stay in touch with you and respond back quickly to emails or calls.
My now husband and I truly felt that we were given the best service possible.
The photographer is a little less flexible but knows his job. I would recommend a meeting with the photgrapher before hand to discuss exactly what you want in terms of poses. I would still recommend him. He was not only professional but very quick when delivering the finished product.

The scenery and dining rooms at Mt Charleston are amazing and so unbelievably breathtaking! The staff and management are nothing but complete jerks and hands-down the most unprofessional, disorganized group of useless human beings I have even had the displeasure of having to do business with! I will try to give you a brief over-view of what happened. First, my guest staying at the hotel were supposed to get a discounted rate for staying there and being with my wedding party. They were all over charged by double what was agreed upon in our contract. It took months after our wedding to clear this up. Then half of the rooms were not in functional condition. The ac was not working in almost all of my guests rooms. Then, they were supposed to have everything set up ofr the rehursal the morning of my wedding at 8 am.. the manager was apparently out of town and i had to deal with the assistant manager. She promised that I would have access to the patio for my rehursal by 8 am. All of the wedding crap from the wedding that was the day before was never taken down and was soaked becuase it had been raining. So not only was nothing prepared for my rehursal, the assistant manager was not where to be found. I requested to speak with her and apparently she lives at the hotel and they told me she was still sleeping! It took them till almost 10am to get her ass out of bed to come handle this.. this was the beginging of the things that set me wedding back by hours. then she was rude to me when she finally came down !! so rude to me!! on my wedding day!! I could have ripped her head off, but she was not even worth it! then she was mad at my mom for making the staff being pulling chairs out to being setting up for the rehursal. she said my mom had no right to tell her staff what to do.. my mom was outside seetting up chairs b/c we couldn't get anyone to do anything around there! My rehursal breakfast wasn't served till noon and my wedding was at 2... Then at my reception, my guests were supposed to be served soda.. we paid for that!! they were only served water! the staff refused to serve my guests soda even though i had on paper a contract that said that i was supposed to get sodas for my guests. Then the hotel staff was supposed to do a head count and if i overpaid b/c a lot of people cancelled last minute, they were going to credit the surpless that i paid to credits for my guests' hotel rooms. they never did this! Then the next day, they did not properly check out the majority of my guests and a lot of people had to deal with additional charges on their credit cards. Then i callen and complained about all of this to the manager when her lazy ass got back in town and she was going to reimburse me for my rooms and reimburse my mom and send us each $500.00 worth of comps (which let me tell you, doesn't even beging to cover what we overpaid!!!). I never got reimbursed, my mom did. I never got the comps in the mail (which quite frankly, didn't matter b/c I was never going back to that horrible place after all that they did!!) but my mom did get her comps. My mom donated the comps to her church and when comeone went up there to redeem them, the "new" management would not honor them!! Then on top of all that, like 3 months after my wedding, I get charged an additional $150 bucks by the hotel and they could not find, nor explain the charge. I took me over a month to get that money back!! I hate this stupid place and I hate all the stupid people there. Their staff is awful and incompetent!! It's a beautiful place and my pictures were amazing but for all the crap that I had to put up with and for all if the money I paid for things that were not provided as agreed upon in our contract, It was not worth it!! Dont make the same mistake I did!! get married at red rock as an alternative!!

The Wedding planner was nerve racking on the day of the wedding. She seemed nice enough at first, but really wouldnt listen to us when it came down to it.
