The New York Palace and the historic Villard Mansion is a beautiful place to have your wedding. It’s very grand and has lots of character throughout, whether you like a beautiful lobby complete with chandeliers, tall standing candelabras, and Italian renaissance paintings or a late nineteen century mansion with a marble staircase, multiple fireplaces, a wood paneled drawing room, and a library. I had absolutely no worries about weather leading up to my wedding day because I knew that I had a beautiful location for my guests and many spots to take pictures without ever having to step outside. An added bonus was that the weather was in fact beautiful on my wedding day and we also had use on the hotel’s courtyard, which was the old time carriage entrance to the Villard houses.

Aside from the beauty of the Palace, the staff is top notch and absolutely knows how to run a wedding. They had someone with me during the day and acting as maître d during the reception. Everything happened exactly as it was supposed to happen and exactly on schedule. The catering is also first rate. I will share that I had more than one unaffiliated vendor tell me that the New York Palace is their favorite place in NYC for a wedding. I absolutely understand why.

I would also like to add that you don't have to spend a fortune to get married at the New York Palace. They have one wedding package and setup that comfortably fits 150 people and another that comfortably fits 75 people. There is great flexibility. It is a hotel though, so I do agree with the previous reviewer that you have to be strategic about the date you pick and mindful of what else is going on in the hotel on that date.

All in, I have the most wonderful wedding memories thanks to the New York Palace and team. High praise!

All of the event spaces at the Palace are absolutely beautiful. However, they need to work on their customer service considering this is a "five star hotel" and you pay a lot of money for events at this hotel. It seems like they're short staffed as we had to follow up multiple times to get in touch with the room block coordinator and the accountant.

Additionally, I would recommend NOT getting married at this hotel during the United Nations General Assembly. They will most likely tell you that they don't know when the UNGA date actually is, which may be true, but it's usually held towards the end of September. The Hotel is occupied with high-profile dignitaries during the UNGA, which not only increases security at the hotel/Midtown area but also limits the usage of the infamous courtyard and your privacy (i.e. random people walking through your event space). Trust me, not worth the burden on your special day.

The team at The New York Palace led by Billy P. is simply superb! He is not only a pleasure to deal with, but also showers you with advice exemplified by his many years of experience in this industry. He was flexible on food options that we wanted and kept in touch over the year we were in planning process.

The renovations at the NYP were fantastic. I was a bit nervous booking our wedding with scaffolding all around but the design team did a fantastic job on making it look like an heirlroom with a modern touch - exactly my style!

The bridal suite was a dream with huge space for my BMs and moms to get ready - full of Molton Brown accessories and stunning views.

The package includes a Ron Ben Israel wedding cake - which was a generous budget that I used to get the cake I wanted.

The food:
During the tasting, we loved the lamb but did not love our crab salad and fish selection as much. We are major foodies with extremely high standards and food was very important to us at the wedding. We provided our critique to Billy and the chef and I have to say that our revised dishes came out spectacular. Our guests were raving about all the food at the wedding and some said it was the best meal they've had! So we were definitely impressed!
