My initial phone call to the Orchard, March 2009 I was told there was no fee to rent the place and that meals would be $12-16 a plate. So I booked. Called many times to verify, and the same guy told me that no contracts had been written up yet. Finally, in June, a woman called me back and said they are ready to start planning for banquets. It was $1000 to rent the room and the cheapest plate they had was $13.95. Unfortunately, it was too late in the game to find a different vendor to use for my September wedding. So we were using them no matter what. That increased my budget by $1500 right there! My DJ wanted to set up during the ceremony so he wouldn't have to make two trips to town, she wouldn't allow him to. So he had to set up the night before and I had to pay him to make a special trip. My In-Laws all drink Captain Morgan rum, and when we told her that, she increased the price of that beverage alone from $3.00 to $3.25. When we got our final bill the night of the wedding, she charged $3.50!!! The night of the wedding, she came to me all the time with her concerns. She thought there were too many people there that we didin't have enough room, and she made me (the bride) panic about it, she got into a huge fight with my DJ and drug me into it too, and then, to wrap it all up, kicked our party out at 12:30am so they could clean up when my DJ was paid until 1:00am. After spending more than $6,000 at their brand new establishment, I DIDN'T EVEN GET A THANK YOU CARD IN THE MAIL!!!!! Not a phone call, a thank you letter, not a word since the day. I will eat there again, but I must say, as a new business, they have a lot to learn. My guests all said the food was great and the service was better. That's all that mattered I guess! But I was pretty hurt.
