They say it's all about location, location, location... and it's true! Have your dream wedding ceremony & reception at this breathtaking hilltop location in Gallatin near Old Hickory Lake. The Pick Inn is located on one of Tennessee's prettiest roads, down a tree-lined country lane, across from beautiful Bledsoe Creek State Park. A wonderful, romantic, rustic- yet elegant - private log cabin residence on 32 acres in a heavenly setting.

The ceremony site features a stone patio and an old-world iron gazebo & arch. Butterfly bushes on each side of the ceremony area attract butterflies for a special touch. The romantic & rustic log cabin is perfect for the setting. Separate and private dressing areas are in the log home for the bride & bridesmaids and the groom and his groomsmen.

The Pick Inn is perfect for destination weddings. The atmosphere and grounds are serene and tranquil. The Pick Inn has been greatly enjoyed by people from all over the country. The lovely old barn is a favorite spot for photos.

We are happy to announce the success of our event pavilion. Restrooms and a catering kitchen are located right off the pavilion. Large stage area. Great acoustics in the pavilion. Roll-down sidewalls and patio heaters, as well as fans are included so you are comfortable in any weather. Breathtaking views of rolling hills and wildlife all around. Many songbirds and families of deer & turkey live at the Pick Inn for your viewing enjoyment. We look forward to sharing what we consider nature's outdoor cathedral with you. Months of operation are late March through early November.

Thanks to all for a great 2012! 2013 fee is $3,500. for up to 160 guests. The deposit amount is 1/3 down to hold your date. Your wedding includes time the day before for decorating the pavilion and for your rehearsal. Pavilion comfortably holds 200 seated for dinner or 300 for a buffet. Fee includes use of our facility: the grounds, ceremony site, gazebo, arch, pavilion, tables & chairs, lighting, dance area, picnic area, use of the log home for dressing... you will have the Pick Inn for your rehearsal, wedding ceremony and reception. If there was a negative chart, the owner would fall into this chart. The property is a beautiful place, though the owner is frightful, overwehming and very ccondescending.
I have had the experience of planning a wedding. I was told about the Pick Inn, a beautiful venue for a wedding, which it is. Though, the owner of the venue is less than beautiful to work with on the execution of this wedding. I have planned a wedding before, though, I have never had the restrictions that were imposed with no flexibility than I had at the Pick Inn. I would rather have had it at the state prison; we would have probably had fewer rules than the Pick Inn.
We arranged to have the rehearsal at the Pick Inn with dinner to follow on Friday, which we did. We were allowed to come at 2:00 to set up, no exception, and 2:05 the gate opened, even after we requested to come earlier, due to the weather and transporting the wedding décor, etc. Once we arrived, the rules started. We carried in kegs of beer, ice, wine, flowers, table arrangements and much more. Needless to say we were thirsty after a bit, so we tapped a keg. You would have thought we lit a nuclear bomb; the owner was all over us... “I didn’t know there was going to be alcohol at the rehearsal” and so on and so forth. Now you must realize we only had 15 people there helping with the decorating, which only 5 were even trying to drink a beer and one was abc certified. It didn’t stop there; she was lurking around and commenting on everything we did. We transported the bottle water and beer 3 times into 3 different bins, because of one of her rules or another. " The cake stand is too heavy for that table, put the the drinks over there, you can’t cut the flowers here, I don’t want you to put the stems down the drain, (really), no water beads, but sparklers are ok"….she acted like we were 10 years old and were there to trash her place.

The Pick Inn responded with the following comments:

I believe this is coming from the mother of the bride.

To address this complaint, I'd like to state that there were no new rules imposed on this customer. She did not have to sign our contract. But once she did, we had an agreement to work together based on these rental rules.

Our start time was 2pm Friday. I got a phone call from this customer at 1:40pm, but was unable to open at that exact time. I told her I'd be there ASAP. I opened at 2 pm. She says 2:05, and that may be true, as I had to back up the cars that were blocking the entrance gate. I had no earlier start time request than this.

Our contract states you need a licensed bartender to serve alcohol. These are the rules I have been given by the county for alcohol being served here for any event. I could lose my business license if I'm found to be non-compliant. If it had been just a few bottles of beer, no problem. You brought in a relatively large amount of liquor in kegs for an average-sized wedding. You wanted the bar open for times other than the reception. Still, I tried to work with you. You had a woman in your group who said she was a bartender, so I agreed to the bar being open during rehearsal dinner.

During your set up, I offered you 2 large keg holders for your kegs. The ones you were using of mine only had your kegs half covered in ice. I was trying to help.

You brought in a large, heavy slice of a tree trunk and put it on a small table. It had to have weighed 40-50 pounds. I expressed concern for your cake and my table. It was wobbly. But that's what you wanted, so I agreed.

On Saturday I opened up at our contracted time, 11am. If it was 11:05, it took time to back the cars up away from the gate.

You personally opened your bar Saturday morning. I was looking for your help when I said "These kids are taking their cue from you." If you didn't convey our contract rules to them they had no idea. I suggested that the gentlemen & the ladies take a few pitchers of beer to their dressing areas. I thought that was a workable solution. I could not have an open bar from 11am until your end time of 10:30pm.

Since your caterer hadn't shown by ceremony time, I called them. I thought there was a miscommunication in the start time or that they had been detained. Most people appreciate that.

We care about the welfare of your guests, and have an obligation for this place to be here for our future brides.

I placed 2 signs in the house early on to remind everyone about responsible drinking, one in each dressing area. I wasn't singling you out. Those signs are for everyone. I don't have the time or the inclination to watch over people, so a few signs are helpful.

One of your well-behaved guests was found acting inappropriately and, in the ladies area, a hot curling iron was left operating on a settee in the cabin. It could have started a fire. We handled those things quietly, without disturbing you.

We're not a prison, but it's not the Wild West here either. We try to make this a safe, happy place to have an event.

At 10:10, your reception was winding down, with just a few guests left. The music was playing loudly and I suggested to the DJ they lower the volume gradually instead of cutting it off full blast. That was interpreted as me trying to stop the reception. It was only a suggestion to make the ending smoother.

After the reception you were adamant about my opening up at 8am Sunday morning, as that was when you wanted to come back for your decorations. Our usual Sunday time is between 10 and 11am. I agreed to your time change request, but you didn't arrive until 9:15. You offered no apology. I didn't complain. I don't know why you are complaining over 5minutes when you kept me waiting 75 minutes.

There was some damage &special cleaning needed at the end of your event. I treated you fairly in resolving those things. Your guests took our keg holder home and when it was returned the handle was ripped off. It was too heavy with all the ice to carry by the handles. I don't mind that you borrowed it, but you claim that the damage was my fault.

The main thing is that this customer ignored an important term of her contract when she opened her bar without a licensed bartender, and the bar is meant for the reception. I hope that anyone who reads this will remember that while we can be flexible in some things, when it comes to safety we must stick to the terms of our contract. Once this group realized the non-stop open bar couldn't happen, they found fault with everything.

During this wedding, I was trying to stay out of the background of the bride's pictures. This was interpreted as "lurking." I was trying to be kind & helpful. Not condescending. I'm no better than anyone else.

We deliver everything in our contract when it comes to any event, especially a wedding.

I don't understand why kindness & a spirit of cooperation was interpreted as condescension. That was surely not my intention.

It's difficult to please everybody all the time. Families come in with different expectations and their own idea of what is a good time. That's why the contract rules are so important.

Your daughter's wedding was lovely and I'm glad you had a good time. They are a lovely couple and I wish them all the best.

Everything went great but once we got close to the wedding weekend and I asked for specific requests, I felt like I was given an overwhelming number of rules that weren't set out in the contract and that I wasn't told about at the contract signing. I was told on more than one occasion about using the oven to warm food and the possibility of a fire. Everyone handling the cooking were adults handling so we were capable of not causing a fire. There was also a comment made about the house door being left open. We paid $3,000 for the use of the property as well as a $300 deposit which was surely enough to cover the electricity we used. Overall, we enjoyed our location and things were beautiful. I would just suggest not nitpicking every little thing. It was stressful.

The Pick Inn responded with the following comments:

Dear Meagan,
You were given a copy of our guidelines at the time we signed the contract. It is part of the contract, as you initialed on the contract indicating you would abide by them. Sometimes it is stressful for everyone when folks don't read them. I provided all the things I agreed to and only expected the same in return. I might have reminded you not to leave the oven unattended while it was in use. You agreed to that in the guidelines. And as far as leaving doors open, I can't crank the air conditioning down low enough to cool the house to satisfy everyone when the doors are standing open. You remarked on the security deposit. I returned your security deposit. A wedding venue is not an easy business. Damage and fires can happen so fast, even to adults. At the same time, I hope you realize what a great value it is.

The Pick Inn was the perfect place for our wedding and reception. It had everything we needed for a medium sized outdoor wedding, from a covered outdoor pavilion with closeable side panels and space heaters, a house for the bridal party to use encompassing 2 floors and a 'Man Cave', and the most beautiful location in TN! We wanted an outdoor location for both the wedding and reception that was affordable and worked with our schedule.

Also all chairs, tables, and tablecloths are provided, really saving on stress and money for rentals. The scenery was gorgeous for our October wedding, and the deer were an added bonus!

If you're looking for an affordable, beautiful, outdoor location, with flexible owners, I would strongly recommend The Pick Inn. They worked with us when there were scheduling conflicts and they were a dream to work with. You won't find a better deal on an outdoor venue in middle TN.

We decided to get married at the Pick Inn because of its stunningly beautiful location. The hills surrounding the place and the big old trees are gorgeous. We had planned to have our ceremony outside but it was unusually cold that day, so there was a last-minute decision to set up everything under the pavilion. The Pick Inn crew had it set up in no time, and it looked phenomenal--rustic-style ceilings, paper lanterns and twinkling lights everywhere. Joy McReynolds, the co-owner of the Pick Inn, had nice and toasty heat lamps ready to go, so no one noticed it was chilly outside. Everyone had a ball.

Joy and her team couldn't have been more accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure our guests (and us) were happy and taken care of. Her husband, Jesse McReynolds (the legendary bluegrass picker) actually came by and played at the reception a little bit--we were thrilled and all of our out-of-town guests had a genuine Tennessee night.

I recommend the Pick Inn to everyone. It's a beautiful place run by the nicest people you'll meet.

The quality and value of the service I got at The Pick Inn was far above and beyond what I could have asked. Not only is the site beautiful, but Joy and her workers were there to make sure everything was ready for my family and friends in time. Joy is very thoughtful and sweet. The staff work really hard to keep the facility well kept including the nature and animals. Joy and her husband even left my husband a few gifts that we did not expect to be included. Thanks Joy for all the hard work and the kindness you showed my entire wedding party and family!

Also, something to keep in mind is that this location is an outdoor wedding venue. Considering that I grew up in this area of TN, I would not plan to have an outdoor wedding in the middle of the summer. It can get extremely hot and humid. It could mean a pretty uncomfortable experience for those who were invited to the wedding. My husband and I had our wedding at the end of the summer in early September. The weather was perfect. The flowers on the bushes were beautiful, butterflies were flying around, deer and wild birds were wondering around out in the distance. I could not have asked God for a more beautiful and relaxed wedding!

There aren't enough wonderful things to say about Joy and Jesse McReynolds and The Pick Inn! This was the first hit I got when I searched Nashville wedding venues, and though I looked at a few others, something about this one kept pulling me back, and I am so glad that it did!

I wanted my wedding to be warm and welcoming, and those two qualities are inherent in The Pick Inn. Everything about the Inn--the lushly beautiful countryside, the wildlife that roam freely and without fear, the rustic but elegant chalet, the glow of tealights in the mason jars hanging from the trees next to the pavilion--will charm and enchant your guests and invite them to relax, celebrate, and enjoy your special day.

If you're practical and wondering about the cost, I can tell you that you won't get a better bargain. The Pick Inn is so affordable in comparison to other venues that you will be astonished at what you will be getting for that price.

Joy McReynolds is an absolute angel and remains our favorite vendor and the most dependable one with whom we dealt! I never had any trouble getting in touch with Joy and she was so flexible and willing to help. We actually needed to have some of the wedding photos of my husband and I re-taken (6 months later!) and she was sweet enough to let us use the venue again for a couple of hours in order to do that.

Do yourself a favor--check out The Pick Inn and make sure you call Joy and actually visit the site in person. The photographs are good but they don't do it justice--it's impossible to capture the magic of the Inn in a picture! Some people might dismiss The Pick Inn as a wedding venue, but those of us who have fallen under its spell know how priceless a treasure we have discovered!

The Pick Inn is a lovely spot to have your wedding! It captures nature and beauty all in one gorgeous setting! Joy was so fabulous to work with! For the price, you're getting an entire weekend... giving you plenty of time to set up/take down without having to rush! It was an excellent find and I would recommend it to ANYONE looking for a lovely outdoor site!

If you are looking for that perfect spot for an outdoor wedding that is affordable, with many amenities, look no further, because the Pick Inn is Nashville's best kept secret. The Pick Inn offers a secluded location that our guests absolutely fell in love with. Set on a hill, the views of the surrounding hills and lake are beautiful. During the ceremony, a couple of deer came out of the woods in the background as if on cue. A huge covered pavillion was the perfect setting for the reception. The festive lights in the pavillion, the candlelit mason jars hanging from the trees all added to the intimate, cozy atmosphere. Another wonderful benefit about the Pick Inn is the log home where you can stay and allow yourself some time to relax before and after the wedding. Joy McReynolds provides excellent service with attention to detail, and will make your experience a very positive, joyful one. She genuinely wanted us to have a good experience and was very accomodating in every way. Thank you to the Pick Inn for creating a wonderful memory for our family and guests!

My husband and I had our wedding at The Pick Inn in June of 2009. Joy was such a pleasure to work with. She helped with anything that we needed and provided so many 'little things' that other places would charge a lot for. The area is truley beautiful and full of wildlife that it was the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding. Across the street is a state park where we took a lot of pictures on their covered briges that turned out great! We stayed in the cabin on the property and it was so quiet and peaceful we didn't want to leave at the end of the weekend. I have been to many weddings where they charge by the hour for the site and have never seen one come to close to the value and beauty of The Pick Inn- I would recommend it to anyone, wheather they are having a large or small wedding, who wants a gorgeous wedding at a great price!!
