Choosing The Putney Inn for our wedding was the best chose for us. We wanted an intimate wedding and were going to have our ceremony in the back meadow but due to the rain that had happened and was still threatening to start again we choose to move it the porch and lounge area and that was exactly what we were looking for and were so happy to work with the staff at the Inn and would recommend it to anyone.

We had our wedding here during Labor Day weekend and it was WONDERFUL! We booked this place over a year before the actual wedding day, and the person we originally worked with had moved on so I was a bit anxious. After my first meeting with Randi, I knew this place would be perfect! Like many brides, I had a small list of changes and Randi was very accommodating. She would just smile, make a note and let me know we were all set. The food was delicious, it was all organic and locally bought.
We also had our ceremony in the meadow behind the rooms, and it was beautiful. For anyone who is looking for a beautiful and affordable place to get married, the Putney Inn is perfect!

The Putney Inn, Putney, VT (near Brattleboro/Keene) www.putneyinn.com - A
We had our heart set on a VT wedding and it took a long time to find a venue we liked that was affordable. If you have your rehearsal dinner and you have guests booking rooms, the $500 site fee is waived except on high demand times. The food was outstanding for both RD and reception. This was the first place I could actually envision my wedding at, it’s very polished with a lot of character. They do them frequently and have a separate room for smaller weddings like mine that was secluded with its own bathroom. Randi, the owner and coordinator did a great job with handling most of my requests (they forgot to put a soda table out for the cocktail hour –no biggie) as well as accommodating guest dietary restrictions (we had vegans and diabetics). She also helped me keep within my budget and still be able to offer alcohol. The venue is just outside of Keene, NH and in driving range for most of my guests. We got married on the porch (it was raining) and it worked out just beautifully!

My only issue is that their website gives $88-168 as a range which I gave my guests in the save the dates. Guests were being told $88 was never a price and $168 is what it is when they called. I tried getting a better rate from Nelson (co-owner who I initially worked with), no budge, so I booked another hotel for $115. Eventually Nelson told me more guests need to book or I have to pay a fee (I was told there was no minimum before) so I told him to cancel my room too. He called again to tell me he’d do $118. We ended up booking the whole place but I had to give everyone the info for the 3rd time. It would’ve been easier for me if he accommodated me from the beginning.
