Three words describe why the historic Sacramento Grand Ballroom, which is currently managed by Event Architects, is the ideal venue for all kinds of gatherings: Size, Location, and Ambiance. With over 6,000 sq. ft. of space, it can accommodate 125-420 guests for a seated event, and up to 600 guests for a cocktail-style event.

The facility is located in downtown Sacramento, near many of the major hotels, including the Citizen, Sheraton Grand, Holiday Inn, and Hyatt. It serves as a perfect setting for weddings and wedding receptions, and is right down the street from the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and a few blocks from the California State Capitol Park. Built in 1912, the Ballroom has 45-foot, gold leafed ceilings, and beautiful chandeliers that capture this unique time period…coupled with all the necessities for modern celebrations.

In order to ensure that our clients get a one of a kind event, we offer in-house rentals and catering, or the option for our clients to bring in their own chosen vendors. We can provide full-service wedding planning on-site, or minimal planning if our clients prefer. For business meetings and corporate events, we have professional meeting planners on staff and the Ballroom building has smaller rooms available.

We asked our clients what they liked so much about having their event at the Ballroom:

• They are happy with the endless choices we offer and our overall customer service.
• They appreciate being able to attend our monthly food tastings.
• They are pleased with their event photos taken in the beautiful garden terrace.
• They are impressed with our extensive vendor relationships. Read less

Beautiful Venue, nice ambiance but very low flexibility from vendor. our wedding coordinator was very good. she took care of most of the thing before the wedding begin. but unfortunately she left after 2 hours in our wedding however we paid her for staying in whole night and everybody had hard time to manage the rest of wedding, of course thanks to my wedding coordinator that i hired her separately from San jose ,with out her my wedding didn't go through. $20,000.00 for venue include balcony on the roof with out and any food or bevrage, still lots of problem on lighting , elevator, parking which we paid for valet parking till 1 Am but they wanted to leave at 11... and God know... Im writing this to make sure every couple knows that this is a very beautiful venue , but Pleaseeeeeee make sure your venue coordinator stays till need of your wedding !!

Although the venue is pretty, the catering isnt worth the 60/person. Event architects does not give each guest even close to the 8 oz per person they said they would. My guests got a 1 inch strip of tri tip and 2 inch chicken breast. the servers are teenagers hired off the street. You will regret having ur reception here as I did

I fell in love with this venue the first walk through we had. I loved the bar was the old teller stations, the marble floors, the coffered ceilings, and the grandness of the whole space. First issue I had was the responsiveness via email with event architects. Sometimes I didn't hear back till the following week, or I had to send a follow up email to get their attention. Another problem was the constant issues with invoices being wrong and never adding up to a correct amount, be it more or less... it just caused confusion for bride and groom when trying to budget for the big day. My last issue was some of the "selling points" or promises of the venue were not held true and were not brought to light until the day before or on the wedding day. Overall my big day was amazing, the room looked beautiful, and everyone had a great time.

I had a fairly large wedding reception (approximately 330 people) at the Sacramento Grand Ballroom. This building is magnificent!!! It has beautiful gold and turquoise ceiling, spacious bar area, large women’s restroom, a private bridal suite, and a lush green room at the roof top (perfect for taking sunset photos)! The ballroom is very spacious. In addition to the 33 guest tables, I also had a photo station, a live band, a DJ, and very large dance floor. It felt spacious and everything looked amazing. These were a few of the perks that sold me on this venue.
Not only is the building beautiful and photographed amazingly well, the ballroom is managed by Event Architects which provided wedding coordinating and catering services. It was SO EASY to work with EA and their staff!! When we were unsure about something, their staff was always available to offer various options. They had endless ideas and solutions to work with any budget. They responded quickly and professionally to inquiries, and you can reach them easily by phone, email, or in person! They also have a vast list of preferred vendors. I highly recommend Conrad Hughes for your floral arraignment (he is a floral genius), and Freeport Bakery for your cake and desserts. Beth Baugher at True Love Photo was SO FUN to work with, and Chris Terry at Encore Entertainment was the best DJ (he was SO EASY to work with)!!
On the day of our wedding, the ballroom was decorated exactly how I had envisioned it. The reception started at 4pm, and the staffs were passing the wines and hors d'oeuvres as guests walked into the ballroom. Dinner was served promptly at 5pm (per our request) and the food was piping hot and cooked to perfection. Our guests raved about the prime rib and oven baked salmon! The staff was very professional and courteous to us and our guests. We were so happy with all the services that EA provided. They were instrumental in the success of our wedding, and they made it so easy for us to relax and party!

Jeremy at Event Architects did an amazing job w/our dinner. The food was delicious and he was very easy to work with. He's open to any suggestions and will help you build your perfect menu. We were having a Mexican American wedding and Event Architects prepared a chicken and steak fajita dinner.

I am so in love with my reception site - the Grand Ballroom - and my event coordinator, Deirdre, is one of the big reasons why. Event Architects manages the Grand Ballroom for events, and it is an absolutely beautiful building. Deirdre was so prefessional during all of our meetings and she took diligent notes about the decisions I made for the event. She answered all of my emails and phone calls within a day or two, and she gave me great ideas when I wasn't sure what to do. During the event she was on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and according to the timeline we had created. Thanks to her there were smooth transitions between all the little parts of the re eption and it never felt slow or lagging. If you are in the Sacramento area and need an indoor reception site you need to call Event Architects and check out the Grand Ballroom.

This is a very beautiful and lovely venue! My sister and her husband booked this venue for their wedding and I was absolutely amazed by how elegant and gorgeous this venue truly is. The ballroom is huge with high ceilings and large windows that bring in the beautiful natural light, which you can also put curtains up if you prefer. The Grand Ballroom was a bank at one point. The teller station windows now serves as the bar area with bartenders serving cocktails from the teller window. It’s so neat! My sister’s wedding consists of about 335 guests which was enough space for everyone to sit comfortably and also a rather large dance floor. The restrooms were clean with many stalls (thank goodness because think wedding, great music and open bar) and located downstairs. There is a large bridal suite upstairs for the bride to freshen up and change if she needs to. There’s also a beautiful garden on the top of the venue for the bride and groom to take pictures overlooking Sacramento.

The staff was amazing! They did an amazing job with my sister’s wedding because each event throughout that night was smooth sailing. The bartenders did a great job pouring drinks for the guests and assisting the bride and groom as they did the traditional “thank you shot of Remy” with guests. The staff was very polite, professional and made sure the event carried out as planned. The servers did a lovely job serving guests dinner and on top of that made everything look beautiful!

What an awesome and gorgeous place to have a beautiful wedding. I love that this venue was able to fit 300+ guests comfortably and still be able to accommodate more. The staff made the experience even more memorable by being polite and professional. The Grand Ballroom is located off J Street and is very easy to find. Parking is either on the street or in the garage across the street. Be sure to have your camera and phones fully charged because with a hot venue like this, you will be snapping a lot of pictures!
