This was both our second marriage and we wanted our ceremony and reception all in one venue. We had called and visited most of the "popular" catering facilities in Essex, Morris & Passaic Counties however they all wanted to sell us "their" wedding package however "we" didn't want the traditional wedding. I had worked with Frungillo Caterers years ago when they were strictly off-premise catering and were very happy with their service so when I found out they owned and operated The Villa I called them. From my first call I knew I was at the right place! The receptionist was very knowledgeable and understanding of what we were looking for and assured me that Ben, our Event Specialist, had been creating personalized events for over 20 years.....well she was right! We had a beautiful ceremony right on premise then moved right into another room for our cocktail/receiving hour - then into dinner and dancing! The night just flowed and our friends and relatives were so impressed with the ambiance and intimacy of the venue.....they are trying to have us plan an anniversary party! MV

We recently got married at the Villa. The service was great, they made sure everyone was happy and pleased. They made every little detail that we wanted in our wedding possible. The food was amazing and presented perfect, including the cake. I dealt with Alberto for all our final information and he was also our maitre'd. His intention to all my concerns were met.

My neice Marissa recently had her wedding at Villa at Mountain Lakes. It was my pleasure to help her plan and organize her wedding.
The folks at The Villa were very easy and flexible to work with as they seem to really know what they are doing.
We did get a chance to meet with one of the owners, Ben during the planning stages and he promised that all will go according to plan. He was correct because it did.
I would recommend The Villa to anyone that wants to have a first class wedding and all within the constraints of our budget.

I had my daughter's wedding at the Villa this past September and couldn't have chosen a better venue. The wedding was everything I had hoped for her and more. I chose the Villa and Frungillo Caterers because of their long standing reputation of providing amazing food, and I was not disappointed. Their attention to every last detail was unmatched. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with every last detail leading up to the day of the wedding and went above and beyond on our daughter's special day!

The Villa ruined my wedding.

It will be hard to keep this review brief, as the field only allows you to type so much.

My husband and I planned our NJ wedding from abroad, from two separate cities in Europe. That in itself was a challenge, along with which were concerns that we were very upfront in communicating to the Villa. Everyone was quite accommodating and understanding in that regard - right up until we signed a contract. Funny how that's when the trouble began.

Communication was a JOKE. Our phone calls and emails were almost always ignored. We never heard from our maitre'd before the wedding, ever. I met him as I entered the venue. The wrong name appeared on the sign directing people into the ballroom. I'm not sure anyone even looked at the seating arrangement we sent, which resulted in my own mother having to sit at a table set up at the last minute in front of all of our guests with no chair cover and no centerpiece. ROACHES IN THE SANGRIA - sangria that I paid extra for. I spent two days making trips to several craft stores and spent a lot of money on just the right string of crystals to put on the cake - they were never put on the cake, and I never saw them again. Rude staff. Simple requests completely ignored. We were told that the sweet sixteen happening in the room next door would be contained and supervised - instead, we had teenagers being rude to my guests and rifling through my toiletry baskets in the bathroom. My personalised champagne flutes were never returned, and when I emailed to ask about them, I was told I'd be gotten back to right away - I've never heard about them since. And I can go on.

What happened when we contacted Robert Frungillo and his staff? Nothing. We have been blown off for months, and told that the only way our issues will be addressed is if we see them in person. We live in Europe.

My stomach turns every time I think about my wedding day; choosing the Villa was a mistake I will forever regret.

We were married at The Villa on June 28th of 2014 and we had both our ceremony and reception there. What we really liked about the set up of The Villa is that there is a completely separate large room for the ceremony and another separate room for the reception. Other places we looked at didn't have that option. Both rooms are beautiful, but the Grand Ballroom for our Reception was exquisite. Plus there are other little rooms around The Villa that make it a great place to hang out especially for cocktail hour. Our wedding had two ceremonies - a traditional Indian one and a Catholic one. We also had another cater on top of The Villa food because we required Indian vegetarian options. Thus as you can tell we had a whole lot going on during our wedding day. Overall everything went very smoothly on The Villa side. Our Maitre'D for the day was Linda and she was with us the whole time and was able to accommodate all of our requests. We had issues with our outside cater and Linda tried to coordinate and put everything together as best as she could. The only part that we were not happy with is our Wedding Cake which was made by The Villa and was including as part of our package. Our Wedding Cake wasn't even close to what we asked for. We wanted chocolate mouse and red velvet layers and the cake had neither. It was basically some vanilla cake they did and it also looked nothing like the pictures we provided. All in all with all of the moving pieces we had during our wedding, we would say that overall we were pretty happy with how everything turned out at The Villa and are excited to go back for our friends' wedding in April of this year there.

The Villa is a beautiful venue and overall, we were happy with the quality of service on the day of our wedding. The grounds and rooms (including the grand ballroom) were well groomed and set up for the day. From what we could tell, the service staff also did a very good job in attending to everything.

For the most part all the details that we requested were taken care of on the day of the wedding. There were a few minor glitches, such as our cake not being brought out to the middle of the stage (instead, it was set up in a corner of the stage). Also, some of the lights in the ballroom didn't work on the day of, so we didn't have a full light on us for our grand entrance. But overall, these were somewhat minor issues, and overall we were very pleased with the services.

That said, we later learned from some other vendors that the venue event manager on the day of was at times uncooperative and unhelpful. We also had less than ideal interactions with him during the few months before the wedding. While he was very accommodating and flexible in ultimately meeting our needs, his communication style was quite poor. Often we did not hear back from him until we followed up several times, and his written communications were unclear. He was not attentive to details, and thus did not inspire confidence that our requests for the day-of would be addressed well. We and our wedding coordinator had to be persistent in following up and asking several times if certain details would be attended to.That said, we were pleasantly surprised on the day of that most of the details were carried out as we had requested and that things went very smoothly.

Overall, our guests really enjoyed the wedding, and so did we. So we have no regrets in picking the Villa. We just had to be very proactive along the way in getting the information we needed from the venue event manager.

Just stumbled across this site .....took a while to find The Villa at Mountain Lakes but I'm glad that I did. As a Verona High School Class of 1973 graduate, I was invited to Bob and Kate's wedding through their dad.
I must say that The Villa and Robert Frungillo really know how to pull out all of the stops! The food was delicious. The service was "quality" and "professional"....and The Villa is uniquely chic and glamorous.
The large band was loud and brassy but the large ballroom at The Villa worked well for the sound and plenty of room for dancing.
Desserts were out of this world.
Its nice to see professionals in action.....and all the while it looked like Bob and Kate were happily skipping through their reception without a care in the world.
Great job all around.
