The Wedding Bell has been in business for over 69 years and is located at 2609 6th Avenue in Tacoma. The store has an interesting history. Mrs. Fontana was the original owner of The Wedding Bell, and she owned it for 47 years before she passed away. She kept newspaper clippings and photographs from every single bride during that time. Ask to see the albums when you visit. They are a unique insight into the history of Tacoma. It is our understanding that Mrs. Fontana even attended the weddings of all her brides and helped them get dressed. We routinely have Wedding Bell brides from 40, 50, even 60 years ago drop by with their daughters and grand-daughters. The Wedding Bell has changed ownership three times since then and is currently owned by Kim Miller. We deliver the individualized attention every bride deserves... So, come experience the difference of a full-service bridal boutique.

An appointment is strongly recommended. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are very busy in the salon, so we suggest making an appointment to guarantee that a consultant will be available to help you. If you're not quite sure of your schedule, give us a call to see if we have time for a walk-in appointment. We want to make your entire wedding experience as easy as saying "I do!" I had gone through a few different appointments at a few different Bridal shops.. I researched multiple places in the area, and I am happy that I had come across this boutique.
I must have tried on a total of 10-15 dresses through out my entire search. But the very first dress I tried on here.. I knew it was the one.
I had never felt so excited about any of the other dresses I had tried on. I tried on a few others, but nothing else hit me like that first dress...
I came in thinking I would be walking out empty handed, but it just fit and looked so perfect, that surprise! We ended up keeping it!

Very unprofessional especially for the amount of money people spend on wedding dresses. Found my dress at first appt, and was pressured into putting $400 deposit down aggressively by saleswoman even though they were not going to order the dress-she just wanted to make sure I came back and spent my money there. I told her I wanted to return with my mom to actually buy the dress, and she finally let it go and I re-scheduled for the following weekend and she put a list of the dresses I wanted to try in my account. I returned with my mom for appt 2 and had a brand new saleswoman who had very little knowledge of dresses, inventory, fit and no knowledge of what I wanted from 5 days prior. I knew what I wanted, and decided to order from Wedding Bell because they were $200 cheaper than Seattle stores, however they ordered the dress 2 sizes larger than I measured. I realized the error a couple weeks after initial order, and the manager was helpful and re-measured me & offered to re-order but I don't have time for them because I'm moving out of state. The only reason to shop here is to save a little money and convenience if you live in Tacoma. They need to work on organization, customer service, and store cleanliness-it needs a deep clean. I also didn't need 3 phone calls from 3 different receptionists the day before my appt.

I absolutely love Aimee and Kim. This store is fantastic and I got the bridal experience I was looking for. I found my dress on my first appointment and bought my whole look the same day. Aimee helped me find the perfect accessories with a smile on her face. I love this boutique so much that I made an appointment for my bridesmaids and plan on getting the Mom's looks her as well. I love The Wedding Bell and am so thankful that they are in Tacoma and so close to my home. To top things off my mother bought her dress here as well so there was a special feeling of nostalgia for her.

I absolutely love Aimee and Kim. This store is fantastic and I got the bridal experience I was looking for. I found my dress on my first appointment and bought my whole look the same day. I purchased my wedding dress at The Wedding Bell earlier this year for my July wedding. The truly unfortunate thing is, the staff here was good, it's the business owner who ruined my experience.

On my first trip to the wedding bell I purchased my dress, veil, accessories, undergarments, everything a bride could need! Needless to say my bill was quite hefty! A few weeks later, my mother found the veil she wore in her wedding, I decided I wanted to use her veil, for sentimental reasons instead. I asked The Wedding Bell if I could return or exchange the veil. I was told they would have to ask the owner and would get back to me. I never heard back. When I went for my alterations appointment, I again, inquired about the veil. Again, they told me they must ask the owner and get back to me. Again, no response. When I went to pick up my dress, I asked again, as I did not want to take the veil with me. After a lengthy conversation, they told me I could exchange the veil for something of equal or greater value, but I already, literally, had EVERYTHING!!! I decided to exchange the veil for a men's lavender tie, which was $15... Compared to my $183 veil... But the staff refused to let me complete the exchange (I was not requesting any money back)... Because the tie was not "equal or greater"... When I asked to have the owner call me (since the staff is not allowed to stray from this ridiculous policy) I was told she was unavailable. Later, a store associate called me and said the owner would not be calling me.

I think this situation is extremely unfortunate, for several reasons: 1. the store owner made me, the customer feel like a nussance (even though I spent thousands of dollars at her store). 2. Employees are not empowered to handle customer issues. 3. I would of been satisfied with an exchange, the $183 veil for a $15 tie... However that was denied. 4. Katie - This is absolutely not true. You signed an all sales final contract, and, yes, we enforce our contracts. When you asked the first time about this on April 25th, you were told that we would allow a one-time exception and allow you to use it on an accessory of equal or greater value. My staff simply repeated what you were told on April 25th over and over each time you were in, and there was no need to ask me anything. You kept insisting that we refund your money, and that simply was not going to happen. The contract terms were crystal clear, and we gave you an option to utilize that money on a different accessory (even though we did not have to per contract). The bottom line is that this is your issue. You had adequate time to review the contract before signing, and we enforce our contracts. It really is that simple. The other thing is that I did email you directly several times to let you know that exchanging your veil for another accessory was the only option and that we would not refund it. You kept insisting on a refund via those emails as well. So, yes, I did not call you, because my staff and I had already made it crystal clear many, many times what your options were, and I was on a Boy Scout camping trip with zero cell service.

The wedding bell definitely has a beautiful collection of dresses! I cannot remember the name of the consultant who worked with me, but she did a great job of pulling dresses based off of my inspiration pictures. I even had dress regret and decided to re-select, and they were very understanding and willing to work with me to get a new dress. The one thing that I thought was a little weird is that I had to take my dress home when it came in and bring it back for my first alterations appointment. I didn't think too much about it, but after talking with friends, I guess it is more standard for the dress to stay at the store until alterations are done.

I found my wedding gown at the Wedding Bell and was in love with it! They helped me find the perfect dress, and it arrived very quickly as well. We went on a weekday to dress shop and had the salon almost to ourselves, and the attendants were all very helpful, friendly and honest, which I really appreciated. We had a little hiccup with alterations, but they were quick to fix it at no additional charge.

I had the privilege to work with Ashley at The Wedding Bell to find my dream gown. From the moment I stepped into the store that Saturday morning for my private appointment she went above and beyond to make me feel special. She listened to what I wanted and made sure she was going to find it for me. She was very patient and very knowledgeable. Not only did she help me with my dress she also helped my bridesmaids and I find the perfect bridesmaid dresses. She has continued to be such an asset to my wedding planning and extremely helpful with any questions that I have. She has also made herself available every time I have called or needed to come in. WORST EXPERIENCE and CUSTOMER SERVICE by ASHLEY!!!!!! Let me start by saying dress shopping was a total surprise to me... My Maid of honor flew in from Boston and surprised me. Her and my bridesmaid had been planing this surprise for weeks. SO my BM called weeks in advance and told the shop the story of the surprise, MOH flying in etc. We get there and everyone was super nice... we go back and sit. Please keep in mind, I am 44 second marriage, getting married in Cancun and money is really not a concern, just don't want to spend allot.

I fill out the information, show her the styles I love and a couple dresses I have already tried on months ago. She asked my budget.... $500.00! She said okay,, we have the biggest selection of dresses in the PNW we will find you one. SHE TAKES NO MEASUREMENTS!!!!! Asked my bra size and that was it. She comes out with 4 dresses! FOUR!!!!!! Not only were ALL the dresses too small, none were anything like what I wanted. AS we are in the room I tell her to pick something she thinks would look great, take me out of the box of what I love and there is no budget. She brings me ONE lace dress. During this entire time she was so snotty and very rude. Not only to me but her co worker Hilz?

This was supposed to be the BEST experience with my ladies and it was horrible. I would never recommend this shop to ANYONE!!!! They actually missed out on two sales because they never bothered to call my BM who is getting married this July. She bought her dress at Something Blue Bridal Boutique for $1000.00 and I bought mine at Alford Angelo for $900.00. Everything worked out in the end and I found the dress. In all honesty, even if I had found the dress here, I would not have given them a penny of my money!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, the parking situation is what it is. However, there are around 40 parking spaces within 1/2 block of our store. Your consultant should've met you on time. Please email me at kim@theweddingbell.com with information on who your consultant was. We are like Say Yes to the Dress in that we do all of the hard work for you. Our consultants know the inventory very well and can pull dresses to fit your vision. We have over 700 dresses in stock, so it would be way too overwhelming to have you in our stock room. On the pictures, your consultant could've made arrangements to Facetime or Skpe your top picks with your family. We do not allow pictures per designer contract (and we firmly adhere to them). Please let me know if you have any other concerns. - Kim
