About Tim Blake's Photographic StudioWhether photographing a High Fashion wedding, family portrait or high school senior, I love the interaction I have with my clients.
When I was twelve I purchased my first Minolta 102 camera and with the enlarger I received for Christmas that same year I quickly turned a room in my parents basement into a darkroom. Hours were spent creating prints of any people that would stand still long enough for me to shoot (OK, there were frogs too). I soon learned to see the beauty in everything around us in the people, nature, and architecture.
When older I spent hundreds of hours studying and with working with wonderful photographers throughout the world and still love the two weeks I take every year to continue to find and release the wonderful creativity inside and the way I see people and the world around us. The wonderful part of photography is being able to continue to mold the way I capture the love between people I meet and the ability to see the beautiful little things all around us in an artistic way.
Wedding photography is a blend of artistry and rapport. Artistically, using the light around me as a paint brush, I use the connection between a bride and groom and their friends and family to create timeless portraits. These don't just happen by taking hundreds of snapshots. They are created by having a wonderful relationship with my clients and knowing how they interact together. This allows me design a wedding book that shows this true love and connection they share.
Building rapport with your photographer allows you to be comfortable with and to trust the photographer to portray this wonderful story. The relationship between a photographer and a Bride and Groom is a very intimate one. We are together all day to tell this story of love. I offer a very contemporary style with a traditional flare. Every wedding and couple is different and I see that when I'm creating your images.
When you begin your journey of hiring a photographer, the two most important things to look for are: Style and and a Connection. Look closely at style of portraiture and candid photography. This is your photographers comfort zone and most will not veer far from it. I truly believe the connection you have with your photographer is extremely important In order to obtain those unique shots, the Bride and Groom, their family, and their guests must feel at ease with the artist. A combination of both will thrill you for generations!
Photography has always been a very passionate subject for me. Wedding and Portrait Photography are the most exciting avenues there are in an artistic sense. Hands down! Where else can you interact with wonderful people, witness their most important day, and capture these timeless treasures for lifetimes of enjoyment?
I am an artist who uses the camera to portray my visions. I capture the world around us that we don’t always notice. As a member of the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), and Professional Photographers of America (PPA), my learning process continues to stretch the artistic flavor that I offer my clients.
