Where do I begin…

Everything started out great. About a year and a few months before my wedding (right after I got engaged), I was scouring theknot.com for a day of coordinator and stumbled upon rave reviews for Christina Molina Events. She was a knot.com pick and everyone who had used her seemed more than pleased with her services. My future sister-in-law had even considered using her for her wedding. I visited her website and actually got some feedback from other knotties who had used her, reassuring me that she was fantastic. I emailed her with a few basic questions and she was quick to respond. I decided that I would go with her and made the deposit and signed the necessary contract for her Day Of Services.

As the month of my wedding began to approach, I became a bit concerned that I had not heard from her. About a month and half out I emailed her, asking if we could discuss some of the things for the wedding. Per her contract, we were allowed 2 in person meetings and however much contact we needed via email/phone. She told me that she normally doesn’t work with/meet those who book her just Day Of services until 30 days or less of the event. I found this to be a bit strange, but I figured she knew what she was doing and said okay. I ended up contacting her about 30 days out to go over details and explained her to that we would be traveling two weeks before the wedding so I would prefer to get as much ironed out in advance as possible. We tried to set up a time to meet together but between her location in northern Los Angeles and my location in Orange County we weren’t able to compromise. She suggested that we do a phone call instead and I said okay. We scheduled a date and time. On that date and time I called her and it went straight to voicemail. I tried two more times before I finally left a voicemail. About five minutes after I left a voicemail she called me back, saying that because my number wasn’t one she recognized, she didn’t pick up. I found this to be a bit strange because she knew we were going to have a call at that particular time on that particular day. We went over the details for the day of timeline and she asked if I had any other questions. I asked her a few things and she said that she would need my list of vendors and that once she got that she would compile everything and send it to me. After we got off the phone I promptly send her my vendor list. That same evening I also emailed her a few times with questions and things that I wanted to add to the timeline. Over the next few days I sent her a few more emails with more details. I sent probably about 10 emails and got 2 responses, which where short, few word answers. She failed to answer any of the actual questions I had.

I waited for 5 days for the timeline and for responses to the other questions. During this time, my site coordinator for the reception emailed Christina and introduced herself and also asked for the day of timeline so that she could finish the work she needed to do. Christina did not respond. Finally on the afternoon of the 5th day I was pretty annoyed. I called my fiancé and asked him to reach out to her. He called her multiple times in a row and it went to voicemail, unevenly at times showing that she was screening her calls. He left a voicemail and asked her to call him back. She then proceeded to call him back. He asked why she hadn’t responded to the emails and she said that she hadn’t gotten most of the emails and that they must have gone to spam. First, I didn’t have any of the emails bounce back. Second, unless she marked my email address as spam, why would they go there if they were normal correspondences with no attachments?

We made the decision not to use her for the day of coordination anymore because it felt like she would be more of a headache than a helpful person. When my fiancé informed her of this she was defensive (which I’m not really surprised at).

After reading the contract again we came to the realization that she probably didn’t want to meet more than 30 days out because once you are within 30 days of the wedding you are contractually bound to pay her the remaining balance. In addition to this I have searched and searched the internet for the original great posts on theknot.com and her event website and all of them have vanished. The check that we had originally made out to her was to her event company and the final one that we have to send to her she wants made out as check to her, not her business. This leads me to believe that her company has dissolved and that she is out of business.

As a client, I am really, really, really disappointed in her professionalism and her service. She should have the decency to be upfront with her clients about what is going on and if she can’t provide adequate service, she should cancel her contract and refund the money.

In addition, I am also a professional in the wedding industry and I have never worked with someone like her nor do I ever hope to. This post is more of a warning to other brides out there who are looking to hire a day of coordinator. Check up with your vendors and go with your instincts. The moment you feel uneasy or feel that something isn’t right, voice your worries. It’s your day and you should feel confident and reassured that everyone you have hired is going to do their job to the fullest. I hope that no other brides have to go through what I have.

A while back, I asked you, my fellow weddingbees for advise for a wedding coordinator. I received rave reviews about Christina Molina of Tina Molina Wedding Coordinator. After this past Saturday, I must admit, I regret ever signing a contract with her.

Worst mistake of my life. She never wanted to meet with me unless it was convenient for her, which was in her area of the valley ( I live in Long Beach). It was only after my mother spoke with her that she agreed to meet me closer to my home, after I am paying her.

I provided her with all of the vendor contact information and for some reason, they (the vendors) were still contacting me. I had to let her know they were still asking me question. What is she getting paid for.

The day of our wedding it rained. I would have thought it would have prompted her to contact all the vendors, including the caterer to follow up with any changes. NOPE! She accepted no blame for not contacting any of the vendors. Many of guest informed me that they noticed, the DJ and the Coordinator were not working together at all.

She never instructed my flower girls to toss their rose petals causing one of the flower girls to cry as she really wanted to toss her petals. In addition, I had to make the decision to cut the cake, as she nothing as my guest count became fewer and fewer. My fiance made mention she was sitting and texting throughout the reception, maybe thats why she did not notice anything.

The list could go on and on and at the end of the day, she would never accept blame for what did not do. HOwever, she was willing to blame me and everyone else for the mishaps. I would never advise anyone to use her.

Christina from TinaMolinaEvents was completely unprofessional and more importantly, she was rude to the wedding guests. I would never recommend her to anyone.

First of all, she was dressed unprofessionally. She showed up to the event in a pair of leggings and a tight, sweater that was too tight for her at a relatively formal wedding. Her ASSISTANT was dressed more professionally than she was!

Secondly, she was rude to the bridesmaids and other guests. Near the end of the wedding, several guests were waiting for their "photo booth" photos to be printed, not a problem. But instead of letting everything print, as the bride and groom had PAID FOR, she stopped printing the photos because it was taking too long and her excuse was that the bride and groom would be getting a disk of all the images.

She lied to the maid of honor saying that the bride had already picked up all of the printed photos (which we later found out was a lie). She also got snippy with me when I asked her why my photos had not printed. She made a rude comment under her breath and rolled her eyes at me in front of several other guests waiting to see their photos. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!

DON'T BOOK WITH THIS VENDOR! She has a serious problem with professional image. I hope she sees this review and changes her attitude.

I can honestly say my wedding was perfect. I told Christina exactly what I wanted and she went above and beyond to make everything perfect.
Christina made my save the dates, invitations, photo booth, and blinged out everything from my place cards to my sweetheart table. When I forgot my cake topper at home, Christina's assistant drove 3 hours in traffic to get my cake topper to the wedding. I can't emphasize how important she was to me.
Christina always responded to my emails so quickly and even dealt with the awful vendor at dress my chair. At last minute, the vendor refused to move the chairs from the lawn into the reception area even though, I had already paid them. Christina's team took care of that and moved the chairs themselves. I was so lucky to have been refered to her. She is awesome at what she does. I gave her ideas of what I liked, and she made them even better. I have never met someone so charming and sweet as her when it comes to her career. She is money well spent!!!

Christina was absolutely wonderful to work with. Not only was she our DOC, she also created my beautiful invitations, created our table numbers, and we booked her portrait booth for our wedding. I enjoyed working with her. She always responded to all my emails in a timely manner, and she would contact me on a regular basis to see how the planning was going.

On the day of our wedding, I felt at ease knowing that she was going to be there to set up, and to greet the other vendors, and handle anything that needed to be resolved. Our florist for example had said that there would be someone there to bring down the arrangements from the Gazebo and set them up on our sweet heart table. When I got there, I didn't see anyone there, so I let Christina know. She immediately contacted them and let them know of the situation, and was able to get someone there in time to bring everything down.

She also did a great job keeping us updated on how we were doing with time. I know that our wedding ran smoothly because of Christina!

This review is long over due, but the details of my wedding are still crystal clear. I am writing this now because I've been busy with so many other things that I have not made this a priority. Before the wedding, Christina was very prompt in responding to my calls/texts/emails. When it got closer to the wedding I had even requested a couple meetings to go over some of the details as well as vent to someone about how stressed I was. She listened and provided support. I was getting monthly emails from her, where she would check up to see how the brides were doing, but those emails slowly started to go away. Assuming she was busy with other things. As long as things were still being handled the monthly emails weren't a bid deal to me. As it got closer to the wedding I didn't hear back from Christina regarding the walk through we were supposed to do at the venue, so I reached out to her. She said she wasn't available the day I wanted to do it, but her assistant Elena would be there. That was perfectly fine with me. I gave Christina a list of my vendors and we went over my timeline during our last meeting. At this point I was fine with her services. Even on the day of the wedding, she asked me if I wanted to anything from starbucks. Things kind of took a wrong turn when she and one of my vendors (caterer) got into a little argument. Not sure of all the details because Christina did not want me to see or know about it. Because I was already stressed and I'm sure she did not want me to freak out even more. Which I really appreciated. Assuming that she tried to keep everything at ease for me. She asked one of my bridesmaids to help her intervene, even when I asked my friend what was going on, she told me not worry about it. Later on I found out that Christina had asked the catering company who was also responsible for decor to move the chairs which were at the reception site over to the ceremony site. The husband of our caterer yelled at her. We have witnesses to attest to this. My husband even told me that they had to help move the chairs and our caterer's husband was being very rude. This may have ruined Christina mood, but she tried to maintain a smile whenever I was around. Everything during the wedding ran smoothly, no wedding disasters, timeline followed through, everyone was seated where they were assigned, her and Elena handled the guests that didn't RSVP but showed up anyways. More importantly the guests had a ball. I down graded on the stars for some of the categories above for a few reasons, we didn't like it when we asked her a few questions, she would roll her eyes. One of my guests complained that they asked her to take a family picture with their personal camera she said the photographer would go around all the tables to do that. But my guest insisted so she finally did it. After the wedding when everyone started cleaning up, they didn't stay to help clean up but said the vendors would handle everything. It still would have been nice to have her there just to make sure that everything was cleaned up. Good thing we did because a lot of things were left. My husband wanted to note that Elena was great, my husband said that throughout the wedding Elena was on the move, talking with our guests, talking with our vendors...etc. I noticed it too, Elena was great, very warm and approachable. Christina and Elena from TinaMolina Events are the BEST investment we ever made. These girls deserve all the praise in the world ::period::

Without these girls on our special day....it would of have been truly a disaster.

As I got very ill the week of the wedding...my now husband and Christina became an awesome team. He made sure everything was detailed to Christina and Christina took care of the rest.

She totally got the vision to a "T"...she was there from day one that we hired her. Always checked in to see if we needed any help and on wedding day she made sure the set-up was to the liking to both. Since my husband was standing in for me...he ended up being the "nazi groom" he wanted to make sure everything was PERFECT just like my mental picture. He expected ALOT of Christina and she over passed every single thing.

Without her, nothing would of have been set-up on time. The venue didn't allow her to go in 30 min before reception...and these girls had it all done! I'm telling you this women is amazing. We had sooooo much stuff from candy buffets, to signs around the reception to manzanita tree seating chart to placecards and everything was done perfectly...in less than 30mins. We had so many hick-ups with our vendors and Christina just took it like a pro and rolled with the punches because at the end she knew what we wanted and that was her goal to keep us happy.

We got so many compliments from our guest...it truly became "Wonderland" but this would of NEVER happened with out Christina and Elena.

She even asked her husband to help out on wedding day...she didn't even charge us a penny for it. We also had a small dilemma of having my husbands car that held all the stuff for us and gifts ...Christina came to the rescue took his car held it for us while we returned from our mini moon.

Christina & Elena: Thank you Thank you and again Thank You! You both were truly a blessing.

No doubt they deserve 10 hearts!!!!!

Without these girls on our special day....it would of have been truly a disaster.

As I got very ill the week of the wedding...my now husband and Christina became an awesome team. He made sure everything was detailed to Christina and Christina took care of the rest.

She totally got the vision to a "T"...she was there from day one that we hired her. Always checked in to see if we needed any help and on wedding day she made sure the set-up was to the liking to both. Since my husband was standing in for me...he ended up being the "nazi groom" he wanted to make sure everything was PERFECT just like my mental picture. He expected ALOT of Christina and she over passed every single thing.

Without her, nothing would of have been set-up on time. The venue didn't allow her to go in 30 min before reception...and these girls had it all done! I'm telling you this women is amazing. We had sooooo much stuff from candy buffets, to signs around the reception to manzanita tree seating chart to placecards and everything was done perfectly...in less than 30mins. We had so many hick-ups with our vendors and Christina just took it like a pro and rolled with the punches because at the end she knew what we wanted and that was her goal to keep us happy.

We got so many compliments from our guest...it truly became "Wonderland" but this would of NEVER happened with out Christina and Elena.

She even asked her husband to help out on wedding day...she didn't even charge us a penny for it. We also had a small dilemma of having my husbands car that held all the stuff for us and gifts ...Christina came to the rescue took his car held it for us while we returned from our mini moon.

I had Christina and her assistant as my DOC and they were by far the best money spent on the wedding. Christina was more than happy to help with any questions or referrals the months prior to the wedding. She is extremely professional, organized and was a true pleasure to work with. I gave her a list of things I wanted done and some photos of how they should look and left my trust in her. Everything turned out perfectly and I hardly knew she was there. Which I think is a sign of a fantastic coordinator. We had a few drunken guests get out of hand and she handled the situations amazingly.

All I can say is that I’m so glad I had Tina Molina Events on my team  Christina and Melissa worked soooo hard for us on our wedding day. Our wedding was one of the best days of my life; it was organized and ran smoothly. My reception room looked AMAZING and I have Christina and Melissa to thank because they took my vision and made it a reality.

I hired Christina about 11 months before our wedding. We selected her 3 month package and day of coordination. But like others have mentioned each and every month Christina was so good about checking in (via email) to see if we needed anything. That small effort was so nice because knowing our wedding was still so far out, it was nice to know that we were on her radar and it felt like she cared about our wedding as much as we did.

Being a VERY anal bride – I knew how I wanted things set up and placed. At our final meeting it was nice to sit down with Christina and go over everything from; how I wanted our ceremony to look and where I wanted things placed (like reserved seats), to cocktail hour, to what I wanted on our escort card table, gift and card box table and guest book table, to how I wanted our tables set up for the reception and our sweetheart table and cake/grooms cake table. So there was A LOT I knew she was going to be responsible. Our meeting was long because I had so much to discuss but not once did she seem overwhelmed or pressured for time. That was so refreshing because I knew I had a lot of stuff but I would have been really nervous if she would have seemed overwhelmed because I would wonder if she could handle it. And not feeling pressured for time made me even more relaxed because it just shows that she really does care about our wedding and she wants to make sure that it looks like we want it to look like. Our rehearsal was the day before our wedding – Christina ran the rehearsal like a pro. This was a PLUS and something she didn’t have to do – she is amazing.

Needless to say – when I saw my room I was blown away – it looked better than I imagined. My tables were set up beautifully and my guestbook, card box and gift table looked fabulous. I couldn’t imagine setting all that stuff up before I got married. I wouldn’t want to do it nor have family and friends do it – it was nice to have professionals and now “friends” take on that responsibility.

Christina was the day-of coordinator for my December 26, 2009 wedding, and to be honest, she could be quite possibly the best money that I spent on the wedding! She did such an amazing job of making the day flow smoothly, and if there were any issues or hiccups that day, she never let me know. She took care of everything so that I was really able to just enjoy the day. And even though I hired Christina to do "day of" coordination, I would hardly call it that. I had originally contacted Christina a few months before the wedding, and to be honest I feel like I was in constant contact with her up until the wedding day. She would email me with monthly check-ins just to see how everything was progressing, and was so gracious about giving me referrals for my officiant and baby-sitting services. Not to mention that I met with her a week before the wedding to go over an outline for the day, and then she created a timeline of the day's events and sent a copy out to all of my vendors! She also made sure that all of my vendors knew where to go and what time to arrive. And on top of everything else that day, she also set up my favor display and my reception tables with table runners and centerpieces. And, I can be pretty particular about having things done a certain way, but Christina was so great and receptive to my ideas. I met Tina Molina at my friends wedding. She was her day of coordinator. I have to say I was impressed with her work and her ability to do so many things without breaking a sweat (or at least that's how good it looked.) My friend Erika and her husband Thomas talked very highly of Tina and highly recommended her. We wanted to hire Tina but we already had a coordinator that came with our venue. After meeting the coordinator from our venue I knew Tina was the person I wanted. Her price was very reasonable and I felt she could help the coordinator that was already hired. I felt very comfortable with her without really spending much time with her. That was a huge plus for us. On the day of our wedding she took care of everything and we never had to deal with a single thing. She made our lifes very easy. My husband and I had this "wonderful" idea for seating arrangements. Lets just say it was kinda messy. Tina took care of it all and we did not have to deal with a single thing. We did not even know how messy it was until after the wedding when a family member commented on how well Tina had taken care of our seating arrangements. When searching for a photo booth for my wedding, I was referred to Tina Molina Events (TME). Christina offered exactly what I was looking for: a plain backdrop, lots of fun props and a photographer to capture the fun. Christina offers a black or white background and tons of boas, hats, masks, chalkboards, you name it. She also provides scrapbook materials if you'd like your guests to create pages for you to keep. Guests get two 4"x6" prints, in color or black and white. We asked our guests to please use one copy for our scrapbook, and keep the other one as a souvenir.

Our guests raved about how much fun it was, and the photos are fantastic! I love that I was able to enjoy photos from the wedding immediately after the event, well before the photographer's shots were finished. It was particularly nice to be able to get so many people in each shot; unlike typical photo booths, the plain background gave us a lot of flexibility and Christina did a great job capturing the best moments.

Christina and her husband did a great job running the booth and their rates are SUPER reasonable. Seriously, shop around and you'll see that TME is hundreds of dollars less than the competition and delivers excellent service. I highly recommend TME for a fun wedding activity. Christina and her team are outstanding and I can’t speak about them highly enough. I hired her as my day of coordinator, she designed my invitations, place cards and table numbers, and I booked her photo booth. It was worth every penny! I must admit that I am a complete control freak and if I could have, I would have done everything by myself – but at some point, the bride must let go! I had a DIY wedding and she handled everything for me.

She was level-headed during a minor snafu that arose and acted quickly coming up with a solution. Right before the ceremony I noticed that the bartender I hired didn’t show up and she immediately got on the phone and called someone to step in. In the meantime, she got behind the bar and was pouring drinks for our guests – amazing!

The photo booth was by far the highlight of the reception. The majority of my guests spent the entire night in the photo booth and not on the dance floor as I had assumed they would. It was a hit! The props were great and my guests loved the instant gratification of having the picture to take home with them. Even my grandparents got in the booth and took some silly pictures. I’m so thankful to now have these memories.
