Run. and if you cant run, triple check your measurements that they take with the dress manufacturers size chart online. Have them write your measurements down on your receipt and sign them. Don't listen to them that the "online version is wrong." Its not, they are. If you ignore these two pieces of advice, and your dress comes in wrong (which it will), take it somewhere else to be altered.

I went in looking for a veil for my dress that I purchased at another shop. The woman were extremely friendly and helpful, even though they were very busy. Carol even pulled my dress, that they also carried, so that we could compare the lace. She sold me the veil off the rack even though it was new and she did not have another to put out right away.

My experience at the Town Shop was fantastic. Carol, my dress consultant, could not have been better. She was genuine, friendly, and helpful, and made me feel extremely comfortable. I knew the kind of dress I was looking for before I went in, and I found THE DRESS on my third try. I was a bit nervous about finding a dress since I needed to buy one off the rack and have it altered before I flew back to England, but the consultant assured me I could have it fitted and altered before going back, which was a huge relief. After finding the dress, the owner even informed me a brand new, smaller size was coming in at the end of the week and I could have that one. Even paying the deposit was stress free as I was able to put only a small amount down until I was able to pay the full amount. I highly recommend the Town Shop if you are looking for a gorgeous yet affordable dress with a quick, stress-free, and great experience.

Extremely rude and pompous. What a terrible atmosphere. They will disgust you with their filled up non-sense egos. Don't even bother calling--I was informed of their rudeness but had to see first hand i guess. What a waste of beautiful dresses accompanied by rude snobs.

I have dealt with them in the past, and had issues however my best friend is getting married and she wanted to go to them, so I wanted to make this easy and painless for her so I went. We got fitted for the dresses on May 5th, 2013. We all started asking the bride when the dresses would be in because if there is something wrong we need time. I got there today to pick mine up after getting a call this week (one month before the wedding) I paid the balance and left because when they fitted us in May I was told I was between a 16 and 18, they told me it was up to me on what size however I am not in the professional dress industry so asked the girl that measured me what she thought, she then turned to the owner Gary and asked him he said the 16 should be fine for me. So I went with it. Today I went to put it on and the back would not even zip up!!! I called them, they put Gary on the phone he obviously as I learned a 2nd time does not believe in the customer being right! He told me they did "nothing wrong" I said I do not care, I just need an 18, he proceeded to tell me because the wedding is in one month there is no time to order another size it will not be here in time. But come back have his seamstress look at it, and then I can have them fix this when I live an hour away. I said well if I do that I will be charged by then to do so, he laughed at me and said well of course you will be. Next I went to the alterations shop he did his measurements realized the dress is a 14 with a 16 label on it!!! Furthermore it was labeled a petite 16 when if anything the dress needed to be woman's. Gary was continuously oblivious to the idea they messed up and would not fix it. Now I have to pay another $125 to have the dress taken out and extra material put under the arms!! This establishment is a scam because they wait till last minute to get orders just so that they give the consumer no choice but to use them for everything!

I had a disappointing experience at the Town Shop. So, many of our vendors were absolutely amazing but the Town Shop can not be added to that list. It started from the selection process, where the sales lady that I worked with was pushy and rude when it came down to if "I was saying Yes to the dress". I ultimately decided to purchase my dress with them because it was the dress that I loved. When the dress came in I set up appointments for my fittings. The first one was great, the seamstresses were friendly and made me feel comfortable through the fitting process. I then scheduled my second fitting which was about 3 weeks away from my wedding day. They had to cancel because it was not ready. I rescheduled about a week and half later and when I came in ready to see the progress I was told that I needed to come back in a half an hour because it wasn't ready yet. When I came back and put the dress on the only alterations that had been done was a single button for the bustle (my dress had only minor alterations needed, the primary alteration was a hem at the bottom). I was very upset because at this point my wedding was almost a week away! I asked to talk to the manager and they told me they were behind and that it is like that during this time of year because of that large amount of weddings in the fall. 5 days after that my dress was due for pick up. Thankfully it was ready and was everything I wanted it to be but the process to get there was disappointing for one of the few dress shops local to the Hudson Valley. My bridesmaids also purchased their dresses through the Town Shop. Each of my bridesmaids needed alterations to the dress because the size was not ordered correctly. Bridesmaids alterations were not included in their cost of the dress like they are for the brides dress. Looking back I would have gone to a few dress shops before choosing the Town Shop. I ultimately purchased the dress there because of convenience and location.

The town shop was my 3rd stop to find a dress. I loved how they had so many wedding dresses to choose from in stock. My consultant was Grace and she was very helpful and gave me the advise I needed and was looking for. Once I new what dress was "the one" the order was placed. I received amazing help to find the perfect bridesmaids dresses. There was even a problem with my veil (which I bought at another store), Gary helped me find a new veil a week before the wedding and marked it down. Very helpful staff. My only complain would be that they are horrible for returning phone calls. But overall a great experience.

I live out of state and literally had 1 day to find a wedding dress. My friend had told me about this place in Poughkeepsie, which was a little far from where I was staying in NY, but when I called them and told them I had 1 day, they seemed accomodating so i decided to give them a try.
When I drove up to the place, I thought oh man, is this really it? It is in an old shopping center in the middle of no where!
To my suprise, when I walked in, they had a whole bunch of books for me to look at to give them an idea of what i was looking for. Within 10 minutes, they had half of a dozen dresses ready for me to try on. I fell in love with one of them within 30 minutes.
They never once even blinked at the suggestion that I may be for hours trying on, with my 4 bridesmaids, step mother, and future mother in law. ( luckily for all it was much quicker )
They were also great about the fact that I was not going to be able to come back until 2 days before the wedding, as that was the next time I was making it to NY.
I went in, had a fiiting, and picked up the dress of my dreams the next day....perfection!

If I could give Town shop Bridal all ZERO's I could. We went in 8 months prior to the wedding date to order bridesmaid dresses because my bridesmaids live all over the united states and ordering these dresses early was important to be able to ship them out and get their fittings in plenty of time. They said it would take a few months. We started to call to check the status of the dresses 3 months after placing the order, the response from the staff there is that the manufacturer is taking a long time they should be in within a week or two. A week or two would pass, we would call again and get the same answer. Do you know that in August, literally a month before the wedding, these people had the nerve to call and say there was an issue with the manufacturer and they never got the order??!! How do you tell a client for months that the dresses have been ordered and should be in any minute and come to find out they really did not even make an effort to ensure the order went through properly? My calls were ignored, the staff was rude. I was so worried about my bridesmaids getting their fittings in time and having the dresses ready for the wedding which when the dresses finally came in was 3 weeks away and my girls were all over the united states. So the dresses still needed to be shipped out and fitted in 3 weeks. Kathy is a BIG ZERO, when I asked her how she ran a business with such terrible professionalism her response was, "technically all we need to do is provide you with the dress the day before the wedding" She didn't care if the dresses fit the girls or not. She was rude, curt, ill-mannered, just the worst. I can't imagine anyone would give any decent reviews to this place. They did a terrible job fitting the girls, one of my bridesmaids had her fitting and tailoring done in a different state and her dress looked so much better than those from Town shop. The whole staff is a big ZERO. I would never recommend them to anyone, unless I hated that person.

The selection of gowns here was amazing! They had the entire collection I wanted to look at, and they are the only shop in a 50 mile radius that carried the collection (Alfred Angelo Color).
The woman who worked with us the day I found my gown was a bit on the rude side, but everyone else I worked with there was wonderful!
The seamstress was very precise in all of the information she took from me about how to alter the dress to my specifications as well as double and triple checking everything.
They were a bit cold shoulder-esque when my bridesmaids went to shop for dresses, so they went elsewhere.
The alterations for the gown are included in the price which was nice, but they failed to let me know that the bustle alterations were NOT included until after I'd had them done... Overall, I would still recommend the shop for the selection and the value, but I wasn't 100% thrilled.

There is not a better selection of dresses anywhere, truly! My experience was unsurpassed by none. It was perfect!!! From my dress, veil and fittings everything was seamless ( and I was a cross country bride!) the seamstresses are impeccable and truly that is not something you can overlook!

The staff is amazingly helpful and the owner, Kathy, actually was the one who found my dress for me! she said try this one and I didn't want to take it off. When you work with people who have been in the industry as long as they have it just made me feel comfortable in knowing I made the right choice! I felt amazing and beautiful on my wedding day and that is 100% credit to Town Shop!

Despite reading some bad reviews online, I chose to go to the Town Shop because they were listed as a Premier Retailer for Maggie Sottero gowns. I have been dreaming of Maggie dresses for a long time, and fell in love with 2 on the website. When I called to see if they had those 2 gowns in stock for my appointment, they said they did not. However, they were able to get them through Maggie's loaner program for me! The day of my appointment, Maria was my consultant and she was great. She knew exactly what I was looking for but still encouraged me to try on all different styles. She did not rush me at all. Poor woman even broke a nail while helping me in a dress and didn't even care! I ended up choosing a different Maggie dress than the 2 I had specially requested but it is absolutely perfect and I can't wait til it comes in so I can try it on again! Overall it was a wonderful appointment, Kathy, Maria, and the whole staff were easy to work with in finding my dress. The only thing was that we didn't discuss price before I fell in love with my gown so it was just a tad more expensive than what I was prepared for. But for me, the dress is a huge deal and I'm willing to shell out the extra $ for the perfect dress. I highly recommend Town Shop Bridal and will be going back next month to pick out bridesmaid dresses!

My bridesmaids, mother and I all went to this shop to try and find a dress. I live in Florida and was up in ny for a short time, so my mom booked me the appt and we hoped to find my dress that day. I was very clear to the shop workers that I needed to buy a dress and would return at a very specific time 4 months from then to try on my dress and pick it up. I told them I would need to do all of my fittings in 1 week. They assured me they could handle this. We did find a dress that I loved, however the lady who worked with us never asked us about our budget. The dress I found was beautiful but quite expensive. She didn't tell us the price until AFTER I tried it on and loved it. Despite the price, we bought the dress. In addition to buying my wedding dress, we bought my mother a dress, and 3 bridesmaid dresses (two of my 3 bridesmaids were in the store, got measured, and paid. The third bridesmaid had her measurements called in and paid by phone the next day). My bridesmaid dresses were not ready on time and when they finally did come, they were huge! when they confronted the shop owner upon picking them up, he said they "must have lost weight." But let's get to my $3,000 wedding dress. When I put it on and as the seamstress was pinning it, she pricked her finger and got blood all over the dress! She then quickly ran out of the room and came back telling me I must be bleeding, it couldn't be her! They told me to get out of the dress and it would be fixed at my next fitting. At this point I said, "next fitting, I don't have a next fitting! We scheduled one fitting to do all alterations." The seamstress proceeded to yell at the manager saying she knew nothing about this and wouldn't be able to finish it. Finally they agreed to complete it, but wouldn't not be able to get it to me until just prior to my flight out. I ended up taking my dress, but the hem in front was clearly uneven.

I couldn't have had a better experience at the Town Shop. Debbie and Emily were so helpful and fun to work with. We talked about the styles I was interested in and they helped me select some options. The first dress I tried on was "the one!" The alterations process was easy and the seamstresses were fantastic. Scheduling for me wasn't easy since I was living 6 hours away, but the Town Shop was very accommodating. I highly recommend them!

I just purchased my gown here and had Giovanna as my consultant. She was fantastic! I absolutely loved her... she was quite the ball of energy! When my Nana told her that she bought her dress from the Town Shop when she got married, Giovanna went and brought the owner over so that he could personally thank her, it was really sweet. Although the owner did seem like a huge jerk (he was constantly yelling at all of the sales-girls and wouldn't let Giovanna finish her sale with me because he apparently needed her elsewhere).
She really listened to what I liked and didn't... if there was one little thing that I didn't like, she took note of it and made sure I left there with the gown of my dreams. She also made sure to shoot down any family member who suggested I try on a gown that had something i didn't like, which was pretty funny! She really made the experience a lot of fun, although I wouldn't recommend going there on a weekend - it was quite chaotic (I was traveling from Brooklyn, so weekends are the only times I could go gown shopping).
One of the main reasons why I came here was because all of the alterations are included in the price of the gown, which is always a good thing! I'll have to add to this once I go through my fittings.

My dress is so beautiful and I’m so happy that I found the dress of my dreams! However, the journey from purchasing my dress to my wedding day was just a nightmare. Before actually paying, the staff was nothing but pleasant and helpful, but the second I bought my dress that all ended. My dress was supposed to be purchased a size up because I am busty, but it was not. At my first fitting, it did not fit but I was assured that it would be fine with alterations. At my second fitting, my measurements were finally taken and by the end of my appointment, everything had fit - all that was left was to take up the length. I made my next appointment for 4 weeks later.

When I came in, they could not find my dress and it took them an hour to see me. I put on my dress and it didn't fit. It didn't make sense that it was fine a few weeks ago and now I couldn't even zip it up. The lace was all torn, the layers were ripped...it broke my heart to look at it. They said that they had to retake my measurements and then accused me of gaining 30+ pounds since my last fitting. I had actually lost weight, but whatever. I ended up just leaving the store and said I would be back the next week to try it on AGAIN. When I came in for the last time, the dress had miraculously fit and everything looked perfect. I'm not sure what happened, but I do know that I’m not The Incredible Shrinking (and Expanding) Woman.

I can't say that my experience was the worst that I have read because in the end, everything was okay, but I had to deal with numerous headaches that I might not have encountered had I gone elsewhere. Did I have horrible customer service every time I talked to someone? No, but I should have felt like a princess ALL the time, and I was always ashamed and embarrassed. To be told that you are overweight in front of a whole store full of people is humiliating.

However, in the end, I did get a gorgeous dress that I am in love with, so I guess that counts for something.

I am a Town Shop bride and am SO HAPPY! I just bought my gown this weekend and I have to write to recommend the Town Shop to everyone -- this place is a must. I had not expected to find "the dress", but Debbie, the woman I worked with, was so incredibly helpful she found exactly what I was looking for. She was patient, she listened, she knew what dresses they had (and they have quite a lot -- more than 300 in stock), and the entire experience was wonderful. The seamstress, Rosie, was equally wonderful. She took my measurements and explained exactly what should could to make my dress custom. Everyone was so lovely, my mother, sister and I had the best time. If you want to be treated like a princess, and work with people who listen and care, you must go to the Town Shop!!!

My overall experience with Town Shop was great. I walked in one day without an appointment, and was able to find THE DRESS! It was within budget and was absolutely beautiful. When it came time for alterations, I was surprised to find that some alterations were not included, as I had been told that only the bustle was not included. The bustle broke by the end of the night, which was disappointing, but I had been jumping around and doing a ton of dancing. I would recommend though to make sure the bustle is reinforced.

My bridesmaids were able to find dresses here that were very similar to cheaper-quality ones found at the big-box bridal store, and were the same price! Plus, the fabric was so much nicer (Bari Jay) and I didn't have to settle for a different color than what I wanted (which I was going to have to do at the big box store). Alterations were not included, but this was known up front. Plus, the girls did not have to pay all at once, which made finances easier.

The service I received at Town Shop was overall very friendly and helpful. There were a few instances where I was met with rudeness, but not enough to never recommend. To be honest, I was skeptical about purchasing from Town Shop because of the stories I heard. Please do not disregard unless you have had your own terrible experience there. Mine was absolutely fine. Would recommend completely--the selection of dresses was fabulous!

I went to Town Shop while in NY visiting family. They fit me in last minute and then gave me a great service. I wasn't exactly sure what style I wanted, so they helped me pick all different styles to try on. Once I narrowed it down they were so professional, careful, and attentive in helping me find the one. Due to my short engagement, I was pushing it by choosing a dress so late. Town Shop told me I would probably get the dress (in North Carolina) by mid-December, but I got it early (weeks early)!! Tried it on again and they were so careful about picking a size for me that I don't have to do any major alterations. I could not be happier! Town Shop did a wonderful job!

I read mixed reviews about Town Shop and I was leary to go with them. I'm very glad I did! I went into NYC and all over 3 counties looking for my dress. I made an appointment with them even though they are an hour from my house. I showed up and told them the style I wanted the consultant told me a dress ID # (they don't go by names) and sure enough she was right-that was my dress! I tried on 5 dresses there and went with the 2nd one. It was a bargain as the price includes alterations except the bustle which was only $100. I had great service the whole time I worked with them. Very happy!

I have NO idea what store the negative comments went to, but they certainly could not have been talking about this place! I had such a horrible experience EVERYWHERE else I looked- and then when I made a last minute (which they accommodated) appointment here, they let me stay for 2 HOURS trying on any and all dresses I wanted. They knew my name when I returned for fittings and always, always, always made me feel special. The prices are cheaper than any flagship, and that includes alterations. The people are the nicest people I have dealt with, especially the owner, who knows his clients by name. Ask for Debbie- she is THE BEST! When I chose my Pronovias gown, which was $500 less than the flagship...I was handed a goodie bag with a bottle of wine. Talk about class. This is the place to go for a wedding gown, wedding party attire and mother of bride dress without a question.

I had excellant service at Town Shop. I know there have been a lot of brides who complain about their service but I have no complaints. I first tried on dresses with Maria and I valued her honest opinion. She helped me pick out several dresses and even showed me a few I hadn't picked out. I bought my dress almost a year before the wedding and there was a small issue with the sizing. The owner of the store spoke to the dress maker and worked out the problem without any added stress on my end.

For the rest of the process I worked mostly with Grace, Maureen and the seamstress Rosie. All of them are funny, honest and very social. I liked knowing that when I stepped into the shop I would leave in a good mood. Rosie is an amazing seamstress and altered my dress perfectly! She even talked me into taking a layer of fabric out of my dress which really helped! She knows what she is talking about, listen to her :)

I will definitely recommend Town Shop to other brides I meet. I would also like to add that I'm a plus size bride and they were very open to working with me. I have heard many complaints that they do not like working with plus size brides. This was not my case. They were honest about what dresses/styles would work for me and which ones would not. I appreciated the honesty and advice.

I had not been to Town Shop before, but after seeing it was "The Best of 2012" according to The Knot, I figured I should give it a shot. I gave them the benefit of a doubt when I stood around for 30 minutes waiting for help because it was prom season so my MOH and I searched on our own. We also took it upon ourselves to grab a TINY fitting room with weird doors and decided on a beautiful dress for my bridesmaids. We finally got help from a really sweet, young girl who asked us the style number and color. She took all our information down and my sister ordered her dress on the spot (this was late March). We were told the dresses would take about 4 months given it was prom season. As I was showing all my bridesmaids the beautiful dress on the designer's website, I noticed the color we gave the girl at the shop was not available. We had to call the shop to double check, and they said "oh yeah, we don't have the color, you'll have to come in and choose another." When I returned, they referred to me as "that girl who chose the wrong color." I waited the 4 months and received no phone call. The woman I spoke to needed ALL of my information (which is kept on file--hello!) and kept me on hold for several minutes before telling me she didn't even see the dresses in the system and would have to have Gary call the vendor to get the whereabouts. 5 days passed, and I got no call. When I called again after 5 days, she told me Gary wasn't in and would have to call me later. I STILL got no call "Later," so my MOH called to see what was going on. She asked to speak to Gary directly, who told her the dresses WERE in and my sister asked why we hadn't been contacted, to which he replied, "I have no idea!" They're sarcastic, idiotic (what kind of dress shop that has been around for so long doesn't know their products or common courtesy?!) and RUDE. It makes me sad and sick that people who are taking your money can be so careless and unknowledgeable.

I don't know where to start with this disappointing store. My wedding was this past weekend and I had nothing but horrific customer service from start to finish. Although I live an hour away, the only reason for choosing to order my bridesmaids dresses from here was because my cousins who were in the wedding live close by. When the dresses came in and we picked them up, ALL 5 dresses were more than 3x too big on each girl. When I visited the store with 3 of the girls, the sample dress which was a size 10 was too big on 2 of them, and fit perfectly on 1. Pam, the girl who was helping us, took measurements of all 3 girls with their clothes on, which I found extremely odd. I'm not too sure how she was expecting to receive accurate sizes by doing so. The bridesmaid who fit perfectly into the sample dress (size 10) asked Pam to please order her dress in a 10 due to the sample dress fitting her just right. Pam replied "not a problem, I will mark down a size 10 for you". When the dresses arrived for these 3 bridesmaids, the one who was supposed to receive a size 10, was ordered a size 16, and the other 2 bridesmaids received dresses that were 3 times the size too big for them. Not to mention, this store charges for alterations accordingly, therefore, they thought they were going to make their money off of the necessary alterations. One of my bridesmaids happened to back out of the wedding, so I called up to see what my options were about the dress. The girl on the phone told me its not a problem, I could use the amount of the dress as store credit and use it towards anything in the store. About 10 minutes after hanging up the phone with her, she called me back to tell me that she gave me false information and that basically I lost the money and I am stuck with the dress. Even if that is their policy, which I completely understand, it is BAD business to tell a customer one thing and take it back to do another. Bad, bad business. SEE MORE ON GOOGLE REVIEWS!!!!

How can I say that the customer service I have received from The Town Shop (www.townshopbridal.com) in Poughkeepsie is THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED? Let me describe what happened. My son is getting married 9/8. In mid-July, the gowns for two of the bridesmaids were stolen from them while they were traveling back home (long story). Needless to say, my son's fiancee and her bridesmaids were devastated and didn't know where to turn. They needed a guaranteed super rush order delivery. They called numerous salons in NYC (including the one they bought the gowns from in the first place), but not one would help them. I live nearby the Town Shop and called them for help. I was impressed by the fact that the store manager, Gary, called me back immediately and reassured me that they could not only get the gowns, but have them shipped to his store by 8/31. It was such a relief! I ordered them immediately. Gary personally checked in with the manufacturer and tracked them until they arrived at the store on 8/30, one day early! I must add, that whenever I called the store, the entire staff was always courteous, professional and understanding. I have never experienced this type of personal customer service before. I felt like I was part of a team and we were working together.
Why would you consider going anywhere else to purchase your formal attire, when you have the Town Shop in Poughkeepsie? You absolutely know that the Town Shop has excellent, long-standing relationships with the manufacturers of the dresses, when they can place a super rush order with the utmost confidence. And you want the store you entrust your wedding to, to have those excellent relationships so that you receive the order "first time right" and with time to spare. This amazing experience at the Town Shop has made me a customer for life. My sincere thanks to Gary and his team for stepping forward to help us and for making my future daughter-in-law's dreams come true.

My best friend used them for her wedding. My maid of honor dress was 2 sizes too small and they didn't say sorry for messing it up and then charged me 45.00 to let it out! They also messed up her shoes and got pink dye on them...it was obvious. According to them it was "red fibers" coming through and not dye yet admitted the spot they got off that matched the "red fibers" was dye. I was stunned when they said this with a straight face. To top it all off, the day of the wedding, the bustle was uneven and the clasp was missing and we had to safety pin the bride into her dress.

I would not recommend that any bride use this shop. I gave a 5 for value because my wedding gown was truly gorgeous, and the quality was top notch. For that I am very thankful. However, that is where my positive remarks end. The staff is unbelievably rude. The personalities of many of the women working in the store are downright deplorable. My entire bridal party bought there gowns at the Townshop - a total of 10 gowns were purchased. For this kind of purchase, I would have at least expected happy employees. There were three women in the shop (Maureen, a slender young girl, and an older woman with shoulder length brown hair) who were always pleasant and amicable. However, the other employees could be downright nasty, and often fought in front of the customers - very uncomfortable! To make matters worse, three of my bridesmaids had issues with their alternations being done in correctly, and the staff was less than helpful in rectifying these issues. My maid of honor was forced to wear flip flops because her dress was altered too short and nothing could be done for her. Another bridesmaid's dress was taken in too much. When she went to her final fitting, she was stuffed into the dress and told it was fine. The morning of the wedding, the zipper on the dress broke, and it took over an hour to literally sew into the dress. I would not recommend this shop to anyone getting married - there are plenty of other places in the Hudson Valley to shop.

I have purchased all my daughter's gowns at the Town Shop over the years since she was in 8th grade. I know people seem to take issue with them in many reviews, but my own experience has always been positive. My daughter's gowns have always looked spectacular on her and the alterations have always been perfect. We recently purchased her wedding gown there and my daughter tried on so many and they helped her narrow it down. She first went in with the thought of buying something plain and they suggested she try on some gowns outside her confort zone just to check and they were right. They gown she chose was amazing and so detailed. They measured her perfectly for the length since the dress had a very ornate bottom. The alteration sessions were fun. All we heard all day was wow, that dress was beautiful, she looked amazing. They also have the most selection in this area without having to travel to NYC or Westchester. The other thing is you have to ensure you choose a place that has a history, they have been in business for years so you do not need to worry about them closing their doors and you not being able to get your dress. My daughter fell in love with a dress there for her prom, it was size 10, she was size 2. The dress was no longer being made. The owner spoke to me and offered to do all the alterations for free since they could not provide the gown at her size. We bought the gown as a Christmas surprise and they altered the gown absolutly perfect.

Everyone needs to know to stop giving this place business!! The salesgirls are nice and helpful, but the owner is the biggest a--hole. They lie and will never admit when they made a mistake! I was so nervous about getting my dress from them seeing all the poor reviews. They do have the biggest selection of dresses in the area, but I'm telling you 1. they overcharge you on the price of some the dresses and 2. find your dress and then go to Mary Abdoos and place the order there. My mil ordered a dress, but a longer version of a dress she tried. The owner told her she wasn't obligated to buy it. She a $200 deposit on the dress and was told it was the same dress just a long version. Well, when we went in to pick it up it was a completely different style dress!! Gary, the owner told my mil to stop saying it's the wrong dress and just try it on. We showed him the two dresses side by side and how completely different they were (and it was obvious) and he denied that the wrong dress was ordered. He talked down to her and told her "she thought it was wrong" and he was completely an a--hole. He gave her a hard time about giving her money back, but the next day finally did after her daughter called. After that they ruined dying my shoes. There was pink marks all over the soles of the shoes and a pink mark on the strap and the girls had the balls to lie and say it was because red thread comes through on cheaper shoes, when anyone could see it was from the dye. They did nothing for me with that and I paid for it!!! On my wedding day, my dress had no latch on the back so it had to be safety pinned on and the bustle, that I paid $90 for, was missing a button. Please look at these reviews on this company and please listen to us!!! Do NOT shop here!! Mary Abdoo knew about everything and all I bought there was a clutch and when I called Jean knew exactly who I was on the phone. They tried to dye my clutch and they didn't like how it came out and ordered a brand new one already dyed. That's what a bride needs.

I'd heard great things about the Townshop for years, but it wasn't until this June, when my daughter married, that I actually had the fortune to experience the joy and pride of a gorgeous bride. The folks at the Townshop were brilliant.
From the get go, the focus for them was a stunningly beautiful and confident bride and a sane mother-of-the-bride! Of all the dresses we looked at, the one our daughter chose was the first choice for all the family. And Bruna"s work with the lace and alteration was perfection. Shall I go on? OK..Just one more note....our memories of a remarkable wedding that went off without a hitch will include the attention-to-detail professionalism of the crew at the Townshop. Thank you Kathy and Gary and all the girls who helped make the day so sweet.

Hello, My name is Jennifer and I bought my wedding dress from you guys in 2011. I just want to say what an excellent job Justine did helping me find my perfect dress. I don't know if she still works with you guys, but my dress turned out fabulous. Her suggestions to trim the inside part of my train in order to make it look "stained glass" like, was an awesome idea. I have attached some pictures so that you can see. It is so ironic that we went to Kleinfeld's and stopped at your store on the way home (we are from rochester), only to find my perfect dress there. Please pass this along

I cannot believe this store is still in business. I am the mother of the bride and they were very nice when I was shopping for the dress but once they got money their customer service went downhill. They pinned the dress for alterations but said since I was losing weight they were not going to touch the dress till it was closer to the wedding. 4 days later I get a call the dress is ready for pick up. I called to complain and told them I will not pay for more alterations. When I had my fitting a week before the wedding they could not take in the shoulders as it was making the dress to short because they had already hemmed the dress. They pinned the sides of the dress to make it more form fitting. 3 days before the wedding I came in for pick up and one last try on and the dress was still way to big and they blamed me for losing too much weight in a week. Yes I lost 1 pound in a week that would not make the dress still way to big and they told me that they worked on my dress enough and if i wanted the to take it in they would charge me more money! I was in tears and finally told them to just give me the dress and I was never coming back. As I was in the dressing room taking the dress off I could hear them talking about me. They also insulted one of the bridesmaids by telling her she needed to lose weight (because they ordered the wrong size for her). They finally admitted their mistake and ordered a new dress. When it finally arrived the yellow sash was more of an orange and didn't match the other bridesmaid dresses. What a nightmare!! DO NOT SHOP HERE

Overall, I would say that I had a positive experience there (although I think a big part of that was that I found a gorgeous dress for a great price). The sales lady I worked with (Giovanna) was very helpful, although slightly pushy (like an Italian mom). The only time I got really upset with her was when I was trying on veils. I was having a difficult time choosing and all I really wanted was some time alone so that I could make a decision. She wouldn't leave and after a while said "If you stay any longer, I'm going to have to charge you." I didn't feel like I had been there THAT long and regardless of that, I thought her comment was rude. Also, I found it annoying that they say the alterations are included, but then charge you $60 for the bustle. The seamstress was amazing though - very sweet and she listened to everything I said and really took her time.

If you gals would like a great bridal selection and service, go to The Town Shop in Poughkeepsie. We bought an gorgeous wedding gown for our daughter there . Her wedding was last weekend in the Langham Hotel in Boston. She always knew that she'd purchase her gown from the Town Shop even after looking at many places in Boston.

Her gown was satin, had a long train and was embellished with swarovski crystals, and pearls. It wasn't overdone. It was stunning. She looked like a snow princess. She also ordered her bridesmaids gowns there as well. They were long and in plum satin. Her matron-of-honor became pregnant during the spring and was 8 months pregnant at the time of the wedding! Cathy at the Town Shop was very understanding and ordered her a new gown, in the same material and color. They actually had to totally re-make the gown. It was beautiful.

Our daughter's gown was a show stopper. The alterations, veil, and tiara were all beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Town Shop in Poughkeepsie for all wedding needs.

I had a great experience with them. If you go ask to work with Giavonna. She is the BEST! First dress she picked for me was the one but I insisted on trying on at least 10 others anyway. She was very patient and extremely helpful with suggestions for everything. What I love most about her is her honesty and frankness. She really knows her stuff. There alterations department did a perfect job on my dress and all of my guest commented on how beautiful it looked on me. Including the time I first tried on the dress to when I picked it up I was there about 5 times and each time was a positive experience. They also altered my daughter's dress even though we had gotten it somewhere else and it came out perfectly. I can understand why some brides are put off by them because the owner can be a little rough around the edges. Regardless, I had a perfect experience with them. Also, I forgot to mention that I had bought a veil there but then I decided I wanted a longer one and even though all of their sales are final, they let me exchange the one I bought for a longer one.

This store has the rudest staff I have ever encountered. They kept me waiting 30 min. for my appt. and then rushed me out because they were getting ready to close. When my mother stopped to ask a question, the owner literally grabbed her arm, pushed her out the door and locked it behind her. Prices are drastically increased and then they tell you alterations are included. I paid less with alterations at another store than I would have if I gave Town Shop my business. Most people I have spoken to who have shopped here have similar stories. They told my friend's mother not to bother spending a lot of money on a nice dress because she's too big to look nice in it anyway. Another friend's veil got lost and they gave her the run-around for weeks. Don't give them your business. They don't deserve it. Neither do you when it comes to your wedding day!

I am not sure why this store isn't getting 5.0's all around, but after visiting many other shops before them, including some of the biggest names in Westchester and NYC, I have to say that my best experience was with Town Shop. They has been in business for over 40 years for a good reason...consistently providing people with great service. They are exactly what a bridal salon should be. Town Shop gives great attention to customer service, friendly atmosphere and great selection of merchandise. They have REAL expert tailoring on site, helpful sales people and a store that has ample room to get fitted and is well kept, clean and pleasant to look at. I was able to find a gown that I had been searching all over for and no one had it but Town Shop. My bridesmaids got a discount on thier dresses because I purchased my gown there, and they even gave me a bottle of wine, flowers and a wedding planning booklet after I put down my down payment! Totally opposite of what I experienced elsewhere. The ladies here were warm and not pushy or rude like some other places I had gone to. Everything arrived on time or earlier than expected, perfect condition and no issues whatsoever. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone looking for a formal gown, wedding gown or bridesmaids' attire. Don't go to a chain store.. shops like this have lasted due to reputation and word of mouth. I am so happy I bought my gown here!

Dress was beautiful (but that is thanks to the designer, not them) They say they don't work on comission- for anyone that has been there- you will see it doesn't FEEL that way. The minute they know you are not going to buy something they are gone in a flash. Thought they were pushy in the begining and were rude. I would not really reccommend them, and I wouldn't use them again. I had several people warn me NOT to buy my dress from them, but that was unfortunately AFTER I already had bought it. They also didn't tell me the bustle wasn't included in the "all included" tailoring until AFTER I signed the receipt.

Overall the bridal gown turned out beautiful. However, the dress needed to be custom ordered for length. The bride wore the exact shoes she wore on her wedding day for the measurement. The sales associate measured the bride incorrectly. The dress came in far too long, and needed to be hemmed three different times to try and accomodate the correct length. In doing so, it compromised the design of the front of the dress. If you are going to get a gown here, or anywhere, have a seamstress measure you, not the sales associate. Also, some of the sales associates come across less sweet than others. Danielle was superb!

the Town Shop really made my wedding dress buying experience wonderful. Their staff was very professional and didn't rest until I found the perfect dress and the most perfect accessories to match. The service received here is unheard. I even now purchased a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding from them because they were so pleasant to work with. The hour drive from my house is worth it to actually be treated like a customer should. (and they wouldn't rest until I looked absolutely gorgous for my wedding day...love them!)

this place was horrible. I ordered my gown a year prior to my wedding. when asking the sales person certain characteristics about the dress such as the top being a certain way she assured my mother and myself everything would be fine. When i went to go do my fittings the seamstress said there was only one thing they could do but it would ruin the beauty of the dress and would be very uncomfortable. I than left and tried to find another dress since this one was not working at all. I called the male owner to explain how disappointing i was and he began to yell at me saying i went behind their backs getting another dress also he would give me nothing back no reimbursement . THE OWNER WAS HORRIBLE NASTY MADE ME CRY TRYING TO EXPLAIN THAT THE DRESS DONE WRONG AND I WAS PART OF THE US ARMY AND NOT ABLE TO COME IN AGAIN THERE WAS NO WAY. HE SAID HE ISN'T GOING TO ARGUE I TOLD HIM I WOULDNT RECOMMEND HIM AND HE SAID THATS FIND AND HUNG THE PHONE UP....BEWARE THEY R NICE AT FIRST AND THEN HORRIBLE PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE

I was nervous about getting my dress at the Town Shop, so let me say right off the bat, I had no REAL reason to be. The end result of my dress experience was a gorgeous, well-fitting dress that I wish I could wear every day. Maria was a pleasure to work with. Some of the other ladies who work there were a bit, strange, I guess would be the best way to put it. Hey, listen, if my career choice was to work at a bridal shop and that was what I had been doing for 20+ years, maybe I'd be a bit sick of it/strange too, but can you put on an act for a little while? Anyway, overall I loved my dress and veil. Rose the seamstress is a doll and made me feel very comfortable. There were one or two last minute touches that needed to be put on my dress that were really done last minute (the day before I picked up my dress) when I thought they should have been done days before, but again, overall, a generally positive experience and a killer dress came out of The Town Shop.

I bought my Jasmine wedding dress at this shop. I called to make an appointment before coming in and was told by the owner to come at anytime. I came in 1 1/2 hours before closing because I live/work more than an hour away so that was the soonest I could make it. The sales lady was very rude and told me that there was no way she could help me, there wasn't enough time. When I told her I lived far away and would not be coming back she finally helped me - by pointing me to the sales rack! When I told her there was nothing there I wanted, she looked at my mother and I like we couldn't afford a full-priced dress. Little did she know we had a $5000 budget and nothing in that store even came close to our max.

After all those issues she finally let me try on the full price dresses and I found one I absolutely loved. I bought it because it was way under my budget $1100 and I was tired of looking for dresses. I should have listened to my gut and gotten out of there because while the alterations went fine - when I went to pick up my dress it wasn't ready - my mother actually had to get it because I was getting married out of the country and was flying out the next day. Then my bustle which we paid $65 for broke after the 2nd dance. all of the hooks popped. It was very poorly done.

The prices are right at this store, but if you want good service and a strong bustle, go somewhere else!

We worked with Justina and she really helped me find the perfect dresses for me and my wedding party. The alteration staff was wonderful as well, making sure my dress fit perfectly. I have mixed reviews about this shop. I can see how they can come off as snooty because when my mother in law and I walked in I got the impression they didnt think we could afford a dress there (kind of true!) Anyway, I ended up trying dresses on that night with Giovanna (who is nice if not a bit flighty) and I actually found THE DRESS that same night, a relief after trying on the crap at DB. My Maggie Sottero was way out of my price range but my fiance told me to get it if it was what I wanted. I was the firt one to try my dress on, it still had the tags, and Giovanna said if I bought the floor model they take 15% off, and alterations were included, so you bet I jumped on that! they kept it at the store of about a year while I paid if off and came in twice more to try it on a buy accessories. The fittings were fine, Rosie did a great job and my dress fit like glove. I had to pay $80 for the bustle but no big deal. They *forgot* to order the veil I wanted so a month before the wedding I got bridezilla on them and I had my veil within 4 days. They also *forgot* to order my MIL's $400 dress, resulting in her not getting the color she wanted in that specific dress, but she still looked fabulous anyway. I had one issue with them, being that I bought a tiara from the store for $150 and they put it with my dress. when I came back 6 months later the tiara just didnt look right with that dress and they refused to exchange it for the price of the veil I wanted. I was very upset and crying, and the man I married ended up calling them the next day while I was at work and speaking to the manager Gary, who did an even exchange- the veil for the tiara. The tiara never left the store so I dont see why they couldnt exchange it. I can see how some people think this store is just out to get your $$ but such is the wedding business. I cant justify ever spending that much on a dress again, but if you are going to get a fabulous dress thats the place to go!!

In fact, everyone that helped me (I ordered my dress more than a year in a advance and dealt with more than just Justine) was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend The Town Shop.

I have mixed reviews about the Town Shop. I never heard anything bad about this place but I guess it is because I'm new to the area. When I was picking dresses the bridal consultant kept telling me every dress I liked wouldn’t look good on me. I tried on several dresses and settled on one because she kept telling me nothing else would look good because I'm short and a little chunky. I picked a pretty dress but not one that I really wanted. I was called 3 weeks later to say the dress was no longer available and I had to pick a new one. I demanded she let me try on whatever I wanted this time and she did. Of course, this time I got the dress I really wanted. When the dress came in 2 months before the wedding it was huge. The neckline was over my head and 6 inches had to be taken in on each side. The seamstress Rosie was wonderful and told me not to worry. She was right- she did all the alterations perfectly and even customized the dress without charging any extra (except the bustle). However the major problem with this place is the owner Gary. He screamed at me, my mother and my sister because we asked questions about the dress sizing. The cursed at us to get the –blank- out of his store and even said he would call the cops. Just because we asked a question! There were other girls trying on dresses in the store and one even walked out. If I had known this man treated people this way I would have never bought my dress at his store. Stay away and stop giving business to this hot head owner Gary!

I'm not the girl who has dreamed of her wedding or her dress her whole life, and did not expect to have the experience of tears when finding "the" dress. After visiting several bridal shops with varying experiences we went to Town Shop. The shop is packed with all styles of prom dresses, bridal party dresses, mother dresses & every type of bridal gown you could want - it's crowded & they are busy.

I received consultant Jiavanna - she started me off looking at books for an idea of what I wanted. After trying on several saying "it's ok, but I wish..." she went to the rack, pulled one off & said just try this on. in the fitting room, not even fully on - a tear (again, so not me). I compose myself walk out & my MOH immediately says her hairs are standing up & gets tears.

Jiavanna was amazing, being able to figure out exactly what I wanted based on a few simple comments. Every visit back she was so excited to see me & very helpful.

The dress needed alterations, which they did for no charge - I did find the owners less than friendly & very business like. But, overall a positive experience. (bustle & bra cups were extra, but reasonable)

I was nervous to go in because I heard mixed reviews. I had actually bought my prom dress from the Town Shop when I was in HS. The woman who helped me was incredible! She helped me in and out of each and every dress until I found the one. I truly enjoyed my experience there.

Alterations were perfect as well. Two days before the wedding they were doing all the fixings and did it that day. I only had to wait 10 minutes for them to fix the bottom hem. They wouldn't let me leave until they and I thought it was perfect.

I went to the town shop for my dress. I found my Maggie Sottero dress online and knew that no one would have it in stock because it was quite unique. I didnt even try on any other dresses, just got fitted and ordered it. They told me I would have it in under 4 weeks so I counted down the days and called when the 4 weeks were up, they told me that no one ever told me that and it would be in in about another 3-4 weeks. I was so dissappointed and upset, like I made that up?? NO, the attendent told me that. Also charged me over 1300$ for a dress I found online for 500$. I could understand if it needed a lot of alterations or i tried on a million dresses but it didnt and i didnt. I had a great experience with town shop for my wedding gown. I found a wtoo dress for 1,000 including unlimited alterations... so I don't know what one of the other people were talking about. Alterations are included in the dress price, I ended up having 3 to slowly take the chest in because my chest is a lot smaller than my hips. I think my seamstresses name was Rosie, she was fabulous, and my dress fit me amazingly, it looked like it was made for my body. The only thing that cost extra was my bustle, which I think was $50 and I had some padding put into the chest and I think that was $20. Definitely not as bad as spending 2,000-3,000 on a dress. They have dresses in all price ranges going up to I think 3,000 or 4,000. The women helping were also very friendly and helpful. The only people I found to be a bit rude were some of the young girls working at the counter. But other than that I found everyone to be very patient and helpful.

The Town Shop can be a wonderful place, if you know exactly what you want and do not back down. Understand that there are many there who are very, very good at what they do, but there are also some who don't seem to care very much. MY dress turned out beautiful, it fit me like a glove, and I looked wonderful in it. The price was good for what I received. However, I paid $70 for a bustle that fell in the middle of the father-daughter dance - a button popped off and half my train was hanging while the other half was bustled - to me, this was a problem of attention and craftsmanship - that particular button hadn't been through anything the others hadn't been through - so why did it pop? Perhaps it wasn't a strong enough thread? Or it wasn't sewn tight enough? Or too tightly? I don't know from sewing and mending, but I do blame this on them - something must have been off for one to pop out and not all the others - and I feel that $70 was a little pricey for the simple bustle I had done. Otherwise, they were wonderful and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, that one thing can mess it up and leave you asking "What went wrong?" If you are going to use them, I won't tell you it's a bad idea, but pay attention - unfortunately you can't trust everyone who works there to do the same quality/consistent work as their coworkers. I wish I had said something about the bustle seeming inadequate but I thought "they're the experts, trust them." So my advice is, use them because they are decently priced and very helpful, the customer service is wonderful, but do pay attention, and speak up.

I had a wonderful experience with The Town Shop...in particular with jiovanna (my salesperson), Kathy (the owner) and Bruna (my seamstress). There was an issue with my dress and they assured me that a new one would come in before my wedding...it DID! And all alterations were done...I never felt rushed and truly felt like they took care of me. i could not have asked for a better experience.

I did not have a great experience with the Towne Shop but I was pre-warned. I had looked all over for the perfect dress going to boutique after boutique until I finally found the PERFECT dress. I had found my dress in a shop in Mamaroneck but did not have a pleasant experience there either so I took all of the information from the dress I LOVED (maggie sotterro-victorianna) and looked for the dress at a shop in my area. I didn't want to go to the Towne Shop but they were the closest place that carried my dress so I had to settle for there. They were quite accomodating to me when I went to try on the dress..Giovanna helped me and she is a riot! *(Her and Danielle are the best people to work with there.) My bridesmaids all got their dresses there as well. Everything with my dress went well up until I picked it up and my veil was missing...it was later found so I wasnt too angry about the situtation. It was also frustrating to go to fittings because I would have an appy and each time I went back and nothing was changed about my dress...sort of pointless if you ask me. My bridemaids had the worst experience there...there was always a problem with one of their dresses when they did alterations and were re-fitted, their dresses didnt fit due to seamstress error then it would have to be redone. The staff there besides, Giovanna and Danielle, are quite nasty including the owner who is always yelling at everyone. The lady who seems to be a "manager" is quite rude and is often talking about customers who just left-very unprofessional. If you have to get your dress here it is not horrible but they are not over-the-top or make or make you excited to be purchasing your dress from them. I have to admit that they are nicer to the brides than the bridesmaids. They have a wide selection of dresses and are convenient thats why they are still in business...

The Town Shop is an amazing store with a great staff. They have hundreds of bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses for every shape, size and color! My Mom and 5 bridesmaids all got their dresses here and had great experiences. I would HIGHLY recommend the Town Shop- especially if you're in the NY/CT area =) I don't know of any stores that can compete with their selection and service!

Townshop was the only wedding dress store I went to. I found my gown and brides maid's gowns the 2nd visit. Everyone is very friendly and patient. People in the area have been going to them for years...all family run. A lot of dress and veil options. They did all the alterations without charging extra. I had a special request too. My dad past away a year before my wedding and the seamstress put a patch my dad's shirt in my dress. (it was my something blue). Except she cut it out as a heart (not the square I would have expected) and sewed this beautiful blue heart in my dress. I was so touched. I do not know of any other dress store that would do something as beautiful as that. They also help preserve the dress after the wedding.

The people at The Town Shop cannot be trusted. They all lie and cover for each other. The selection is great, but the service is awful. Phone calls not made in a timely manner, incorrect alterations, and just plain rude owners. While I dealt with the woman owner, I have been told they do the good cop bad cop routine frequently switching roles. I was extremely unhappy with the result.

I found a David's Bridal dress for $40. It needed to be taken in and hemmed. I worked with the ladies at The Town Shop to alter my dress. This is my second wedding. I could not budget for a $900 dress. That is what mine was worth. It was in mint condition. We even added a chiffon cap sleeve to hide my worst feature, my arms. The dress was strapless. I was very insecure about my arms. They assured me that I looked beautiful, despite what I thought. I found a Bolero jacket at the David's Bridal in Danbury a week before the wedding.( they were not there before that) I was extremely happy at the way the jacket looked. I called the Town Shop and asked them to remove the chiffon cap sleeves just days before the wedding. I was ecstatic! I was finally happy with my choice. The women were very understanding and encouraging. They were just like family.

These people act like if they don't get as much money out of you as possible, someone will chop off their fingers later. There is always drama (someone yelling in the back), it is really bizarre. The owner is a very emotional and sometimes hysterical man, once he was yelling at a sales lady who I was talking to because she let someone sit in the back or something I don't even know but he was so nasty and it was very uncomfortable to watch. We were there at least 6 times and he was always in a tizzy about something. Phone calls are returned days later.

One skinny, incredibly annoying sales lady even made a comment to my already insecure-about-dress-shopping sister about her being too fat for a dress, saying they'd "have to work a miracle on this dress." Loud enough for her to hear and become upset and my sister is by no means obese. I picked them because I was tired of looking and they had my dress, but I should have kept looking. Everything was such a hassle. One lady even tried to hassle me into paying full price ($170) for a worn veil on the floor with a hole in it, I finally had to say, "Look lady I am not buying this veil." But I have to say the seamstress we had was truly talented, so if you need extensive alterations and you live locally and you can stand up to people trying to trick you into spending tons of money, then consider it.

They were great when I ordered the dress and even ordered me a dress that I found online that they didn't have in stock with no obligation to purchase that specific dress. I only had to leave a $200 deposit and agree to purchase my dress there. The dress came in in less than a month!

Unfortunately they were not good at getting back to me on when my bridesmaid dresses were in and didn't return calls. My dress was supposed to be ready at 1PM the day before the wedding (I live 45 minutes away) and it wasn't ready until 3PM.

It took me months and 12 shops to find a dress I loved. I finally found it at the Town Shop. I ordered the dress, shoes, bra, slip, tiara, earrings, bridesmaids dresses, mother-of-the-bride dress, grandmothers dress and flower girl dress all in the same day. We were all measured and paid for. In total, almost $5000 worth of stuff. I ordered all dresses 9 months before wedding.

After we were measured, I was told I would be called after the dresses came in. Four months later I get a call and am told MY dress is discontinued...so I go in with only 5 months until the wedding and find another one (why did it take 4 months to tell me??). Order dress #2 and am told it will be rushed and should come in within 6 weeks for the 2 fittings. It finally came in with 3 weeks to spare before my wedding....it was 3 inches too short!! I wore ballet shoes so it was not a shoe issue...THEY MEASURED wrong. Then i was told that this dress too was discontinued and had to pick another dress but I only had THREE weeks to my wedding that cost me $60,000!!!

So I fought with them, they called the supplier and had them make me another dress (the 2nd one I picked). It came in one week later in the wrong color!! I was freaking out bc my flower girls dress matched the correct color (ivory and the new dress was stark white, like scary white). With 3 days left I got the correct dress but it was too long (by 2 inches). They could not take it up bc the dress was A-line and there was no stomach seam...so I was tripping on my dress all night. The 2 Italian seamstresses were telling each other that I was a bitch and crazy (right in front of me) in Italian...little did they know that I am an Italian teacher! After I responded to them, in Italian, they got up and ran into the back room.

PS...I lived 2 hours away from the shop and had to keep traveling back and forth for all this business. I ordered the dress in the beginning bc I was told I only had to come in 2 times after I ordered it. I was there 15 times in 4 months!! Then, after everything was said and done the owner "did me a favor for my trouble" and gave me 10% off my $300 tiara...what a nice guy (note the sarcasm).

Oh yeah, they also did the alterations on my bridesmaids and mother. They lengths were wrong on every one. My mother and sisters dresses were so long that they had to be pinned up so they did not trip on them and the other bridesmaids dress was so short that it looked like she had on a tea length dress. IT was a disaster.

I had the best experience picking out my wedding dress. I bought a Mora Lee gown that ended up being discontinued. The Town Shop sold it to me for HALF the cost AND included all the alterations on it. Because I bought the floor model that was a size 4, they had to alter it...They created an entirely new back, instead of a zipper closure, they created a beautiful masterpiece. My dress was absolutely exquisite and I absolutely loved it. All the salespeople were wonderful to work with as well. Highly recommend this vendor.

What a nightmare!!!! I was so dissappointed by the lack of professionalism. That was the last thing I needed to deal with 2 days before my wedding. And don't think the owner will come to your rescue, he was the nastiest of them all. I will say that the dress was absolutely gorgeous and I later heard that the sales lady was no longer there but I would still be very careful.
