Malissa Laws came recommended by a good friend and recent bride. I attended a bridal show and had her information packet she hands out. I made an appointment with her and she was pleasant. Her home office was "professional". At our appointment she had all of my information (I was married on May 9, 2009 in Austin, TX). She wanted to get an idea of what I was looking for my florals. I am a very laid back person and the flowers weren't a concern of mine. I just wanted something nice that would hold up in TX heat. I brought pictures of the color scheme and bouquets that I liked. I wanted her "expert" opinion on flowers and she talked a good talk and showed me pics of previous weddings she's done. I was so impressed that i wanted to add her as a preferred vendor at the prominent hotel I work for (with the economy the way it was, everyone could use quality but not super expensive... this would have been a HUGE contract for her). At the end of the meeting, she gave me a price list... which was over $500 more than what she was passing out at the bridal event... when I pulled out my pricing list from her... she said "that's an old pricing guide and I'll give you a discount off my current prices but I can't honor those prices.. when I told her the bridal show was 2 weeks ago... she told me "I don't know where you got that from but it's old and I will NOT honor it"...
Bullet points from here on out...
****We met to pick out flowers at a floral warehouse and she asked me again about what flowers I would like... I asked her if she had the pics I printed for her and she said "No, I have other brides and weddings to take care of. Just tell me what you want."
****I wanted only roses in my bouquet and the flower girls... I picked out the specific rose (white with light pink edges) and the day of the wedding they were all white roses with a few pink roses in the bouquet... and the petals were bent with brown spots and the petal were falling off...
****All the bouquets were in vases with water at the church
****The boutonnieres were a single flower (renuculus sp?? her suggestion to the TX heat) with some green balls on it... the flowers didn't last after we took pics outside of the church... it went limp and shriveled up... I have the pics to prove it...
****After the church we were on our way to the venue and I saw Malissa at the dining area doors and I walked up to her and she said "You look look tired and you have black circles under your eyes" (my maid of Honor wanted to punch her in her face... my father passed away 4 days before my wedding and wanted to cry)... after I told her about my father, she asked "can you make sure you return my vases from the church?"... I looked at her and told her the bridesmaid bouquets (hydreaga and peonies sp??... once again a suggestion by Malissa to with stand the TX Heat) were dead they were limp and looked horrible... she said "I'm done here and need your s***"... My caterer (Sterling Affairs- Love them) stepped in at that point and told her to leave the premises...

Malissa Laws is the most unprofessional wedding vendor I know... she has no floral experience WHATSOEVER.. please don't give her your business...
