What a wonderful wedding we had! We had invited over 200 people to our wedding, and everything came out perfectly. My husband and I met Kathy when we first booked our date for June 22, 2014. My husband is a foodie, and wanted to make sure that the food was excellent—he was not let down. We went to several tastings thanks to Kathy, and we were pleased every time. After the wedding, people were calling us and telling us what a great time they had and how excellent the food was. Scott (the bartender) made sure that everyone always had a full glass.
The highlight of our night was the bridal attendant, Mildred. She always made sure that I was comfortable: she helped bustle my dress, made sure we were well fed, and she even fanned me when I was sweating from dancing.
Overall, we highly recommend this hall. The food was stellar, the view was spectacular, and the service was remarkable. After the wedding, people were calling us and telling us what a good time they had, what great pictures they got with the view, and how excellent their food was. Our day went perfectly, and Waters Edge largely attributed to that.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Water's Edge and it was wonderful. We booked the event through Kathy and she was so warm and friendly...she would respond to my (many) emails quickly and thoroughly. She was also helpful in coordinating our alternative wedding cake - we opted for a variety of pies and ice cream bar...she even helped us get one that was gluten-free so I could enjoy it! Mildred - our lady in waiting - was AMAZING! She made sure we both ate during the cocktail hour, shooed away unwanted guests stopping by the bridal suite and even sewed my dress when I had a wardrobe malfunction. All of our guests raved about the food and some said it was the best filet they ever had (and these guests came from Texas). Not to mention the view...it was perfect.

We just had our wedding on April 11th, 2014. I could not be happier that we chose Waters Edge in Long Island City for our wedding venue!
My fiancé and I wanted a New York City feel for our venue, and Waters Edge was perfect! They delivered above and beyond our expectations. The view from Water's Edge is priceless....amazing during the day and spectacular at night. The venue has such a great outdoor space that allowed our guests to filter outside for our cocktail hour to enjoy fresh air and take beautiful pictures with the NYC skyline in the background. Everyone was in awe.
In addition, our family and friends could not stop raving about how great the food was...and I come from a very picky Italian family. In order to make sure myself, my husband and our bridal party got to eat, they even set aside a sampling of the cocktail hour food for us eat before our cocktail hour even began! This enabled us to get food into our stomachs since eating while mingling with our guests at the cocktail hour was very much a challenge as the bride and groom.
Every single person we worked with at Waters Edge was fabulous! They really know customer service and how to put on a great event. Everything ran flawless. Staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating...from the managers to the servers. Kathy, Abhi, Lateef, Scott, Matilda....You guys deserve a huge "Thank You" for all the hard work you put into making the Shea/Griffin Wedding a night to remember.
I would recommend Waters Edge to everyone. And I'm sure the 220 guests at our wedding will be talking about this place too!

Water's Edge pulled off our wedding flawlessly. From the signature cocktails, to the service, to tiny little details - they executed my vision perfectly. We received so many compliments on the food, people hardly noticed the view... but I mean - THE VIEW! You can't beat it - it was everything I had dreamed it could be. We had a great time, and it was so easy - I didn't stress at all. It's a bit of a higher price tag, but worth every penny. I couldn't have been happier.

We had our wedding here in February and it was absolutely amazing. The views of the NYC skyline and the 59th st bridge are unparalleled and our out of town guests were falling over themselves taking pictures of the incredible backdrop. Abhi is the new wedding coordinator there and he did an incredible job. He met with us before the wedding and walked us through every detail to make sure they were able to meet every request we had. The cocktail hour food was plentiful and VERY good, the Coney Island station was a huge hit. The dinner food was excellent, normally at weddings people aren't expecting steaks to be cooked to perfection but our friends and family were very impressed, as was my husband who eats at a lot of steakhouses. The staff did everything imaginable to make the night perfect, especially Mildred the bridal assistant who never let our glasses of champagne, water and cocktails get below half way. She made sure we ate some dinner and made us a reserved table at our cocktail hour to eat some appetizers. She also packed all of our gifts, envelopes, extra favors, koozies, napkins, etc. for our family to take home after we had left, it was so helpful. Overall this was the perfect setting for our wedding. Everything was absolutely beautiful and we would HIGHLY recommend to anyone considering this venue, you won't be disappointed.

We were blessed with a beeeautiful weather weekend so Manhattan was gorgeous from Water's Edge. Besides the ambiance, we had a great time with Latif, our maitre'd who was cool, calm, and collected throughout the entire reception. He definitely made the party flow the right way and allowed us to relax and enjoy. The guests raved about how delicious the food was and noted that it was unlike any other wedding caterer they've been to. Daniella and Kathy were very responsive to emails throughout the coordinating process and overall our experience with Water's Edge was EXCELLENT!! If you're looking for a skyline venue, there's nothing better :)

I have had dinner there numerous times and just had my wedding there last month! First about my experiences with dinner: everything has always been perfect. The food, the wine, the service, the view, all spectacular. I've eaten a wide variety of food here for dinner: steak, seafood, chicken breast and plenty of desserts. All have been perfectly cooked and delicious. The skyline is so gorgeous and breathtaking that it creates such a romantic, intimate environment. Everything about this place is wonderful!

Between the food and the view, that was enough to convince me to have my wedding there, which was also such a wonderful, dream-come-true kind of night. Everything was perfectly planned and executed. From day 1, we worked with Kathy, and she was so easy to work with, so relaxed (in a good way) and SO thorough. She made the process easy, fun and stress free. The night was flawless. She also made great suggestions for other vendors which was awesome!

The night of, Mildred, the bridal attendant, was amazing. She made sure that my husband and I were well fed, my dress was steamed and wrinkle free, my glass was full and that I was having a good time. She also made sure to put all of our gifts and mementos together at the end of the night so packing up was nice and easy. The maître d' as well as the head bartender were also so thorough and organized, which made the evening go so smoothly and fun for all! Everyone working together made the evening such an incredible night for me and my husband and we couldn't be more thankful to Kathy and team for it!

I cannot express enough how wonderful the Water's Edge venue was for our wedding ceremony and reception. Kathy and Daniela were helpful from the very start and responded quickly to any questions that we had throughout the entire planning process. Day of: Mildred- the bridal attendant of our dreams, she made sure that me and the groom and entire wedding party were taken care of the entire night, she had a special spread in the bridal suite of all of the cocktail hour hors d'vours so that the groom and I could actually enjoy. She was amazing. Paul: Maitre D': Made sure everything ran smoothly and we did not have to worry about any details. Scott: Head bartender, our glasses were never empty and he made the perfect bride and groom signature drinks. After the wedding, two of our guests took a cab to Brooklyn instead of going with the shuttle back to Manhattan and he actually waited outside with them until the car came. Very impressive. The bridal suite was locked the entire time and Mildred made sure to pack up all of our wedding items gifts, cards, table placements, even my grandmother's rosary that was wrapped around my bouquet, so that when we left, we had it all ready to go in a plastic bin. Our gift card box was placed behind us in the main reception room and in plain sight the entire time and they took very special care to make sure that it was never left unattended. We have gotten tons of compliments on the food, views, service, etc from our guests and we could not be happier. Food was incredible, views were spectacular. My one suggestion would be to make sure that if you have your ceremony here, you plan for the sun to have already set, we started at 6:30pm and until the sun went behind the buildings, it was a bit uncomfortable. Our one thing we would change is having the ceremony start at 6:45pm so that the ceremony would have been a bit more comfortable. Besides that, it was perfect and we are very happy!

The Water’s Edge was an amazing venue! They went above and beyond my expectations. There was no detail that was over looked. Daniella, Mildred, Paul, Scott and the entire Water’s Edge staff were incredible. They were so attentive to our needs and our guest needs. Our guest raved for weeks about the food, the service and the view. I cannot express enough how happy I am that we selected the Water’s Edge as our venue. They really made our wedding special. The only little problem I had was the air condition, during cocktail hour and the first part of dinner it was fine. However, when the band started playing with all our guest dancing mixed with the July temperature it became way too warm for me as a bride with all the layers. The problem was fixed just make sure it’s cool before all your guest start dancing.

We had our reception at Water's Edge - we were married at a church before hand. The views are what sold us on the venue before we even tasted the food. To our delight, the food was AMAZING. People of all ages raved about how good it was, many saying it was the best "wedding food" they ever had. And the abundance of it was unbelievable. The cocktail hour stations were especially beautiful. The staff who take care of you during the event really know what they are doing, they really anticipated our every need. Each staff member operated at a very high level of professionalism, from start to finish. They were all warm and full of hospitality.

I cannot recommend The Water's Edge highly enough. The venue and the staff are stellar. We worked with Daniella who was so accommodating and responsive; she easily made the stress of wedding planning disappear and I felt very comfortable knowing we were in such good hands. The food at the Water's Edge was phenomenal. Our guests are still talking about how much food they were given and how good it was. People thought that the cocktail hour was dinner because there was so much food! The venue is stunning. We couldn't have been happier with the views and the proximity to Manhattan. Paul the Maitre'D was so nice and took great care of us. I had Mildred as my bridal attendant and she was FANTASTIC! She steamed my dress, bustled it, and made sure I ate-- it was like having another bridesmaid! For the price and everything that's included with booking at the Water's Edge, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The only thing that was slightly lacking was the cake (it was beautiful, but overly sweet), but since they gave us dessert in addition to the wedding cake, no one really noticed.

My husband and I were married at the Water’s Edge on January 15, 2012. Every ounce of our wedding was magnificent, thanks in tremendous part to the staff at the Water’s Edge. Our guests were first blown away by the atmosphere and the view, then by the incredible service, and then by the magnificent food. Our officient (Susan Turchin), the flowers (by Spitz & Peck), the music (by our fabulous DJ, Carol Moore of A Starry Night), and our photographer (Amber Johnson) also helped make our wedding day magnificent.

From the day we reached out to the Water’s Edge to see the venue (in November 2010), sales manager Kathy Thelian was extremely helpful and responsive. She also referred us to Susan, our officient, who did a wonderful job on our ceremony.

We had the ceremony on site at 4PM, followed by a cocktail hour at 5, and the reception from 6 to 10. We began taking pictures about two hours before the ceremony. From the moment we arrived, Kathy was there to greet us, Paul the PHENOMINAL maître d was at our beck and call, Victor the dining room Captain was working to see that everything was prepared, and Scott the bartender made sure our glasses were never empty (after politely pulling me aside and asking whether it would be alright to serve the bridal party before the ceremony began – answer was obviously “YES!” – but it was very nice of him to ask), and Mildred – our bridal attendant – made sure that my dress and I were perfect. More on Mildred later – that wonderful, wonderful woman.

The ceremony took place between 4:15 and 4:45 in the afternoon. After, our guests moved to the next room for the cocktail hour. Since we had 140 guests, we used only the second floor of the venue, and the cocktail hour room was separated from the ceremony/reception room by a partitioned wall. My husband and I were escorted to the small, but comfortable bridal suite where a tremendous spread of all of the cocktail hour food had been laid out for us. We spent about twenty minutes together talking and snacking before heading to our cocktail hour to greet our guests. Everyone was settled in – there was plenty of room to sit or to stand or to wander around socializing.

About 15 minutes into the cocktail hour, potential disaster struck – an entire glass of wine was spilled on my dress - red wine on ivory satin. As everyone gasped in horror, Mildred swept me back to the bridal suite where some magical combination of dish soap and club soda (and a lot of scrubbing by Mildred and aunt Sharon) removed the stain to such a degree that people who hadn’t seen what happened couldn’t even tell. Mildred = Superwoman.

We returned to the cocktail hour with about fifteen minutes to go, and at 6, Paul brought us back to the bridal suite as our guests were seated for the reception. At 6:15, the bridal party and my husband and I were introduced (all orchestrated by Paul and Carol). We had our first dance, and after fifteen minutes or so of everybody dancing, appetizers were served. We had a warm pear and gorgonzola salad that was outrageous. After appetizers, Carol kicked up the music and we all danced for about a half hour until dinner was served. For dinner, we had a choice of filet mignon (several people told me it was one of the best steaks they had ever had), Chilean Seabass (which my extremely picky mother absolutely loved), and a sautéed chicken dish that was out-of-this world. This was not ordinary “wedding food” – not even “good wedding food” – which is pretty mediocre. These meals could have been served at any New York City restaurant and would have received raves. The rest of the night was devoted to dancing, more dancing, and more dancing. Dessert and wedding cake were served and very well received, although I can’t speak to them personally because I was too busy dancing. If they tasted anything like they did at our tasting session in December – they must have been amazing as well.

Mildred, Victor, Scott, and Paul took tremendous care of us and our families throughout the night. Our guests raved about their servers, the bartenders, and the attendants. I cannot speak highly enough of the Water’s Edge – they made our night very special for us, for our families, and for our guests.

Amazing views, awesome food, and very professional. All my guest were extremely impressed with the venue. They only hold one wedding at a time which is wonderful. They also do the cake which is so much more simpler to have it done in house.

I cannot say enough about Water's Edge and their staff- from our 1st visit to the restaurant, last September, for our anniversary dinner, to meeting with them, booking and planning our wedding, the staff at Water's Edge made every aspect and decision easy and virtually painless.
Maureen Murphy, their V. P. of Banquet Sales, was incredibly patient and guided us throughout the process- she assuaged my fears and made me feel very comfortable. Mildred Lopez, my incredible wedding attendant, made sure I ate, drank and enjoyed myself- she even pressed my veil!
The food was delicious and plentiful and our guests were so impressed with the quality and service. We're still getting compliments on our wedding from guests. Water's Edge is on the water, so the views of the sunset and Manhattan skyline only added to our special evening.
Lastly, our wedding on May 31st coincided with the 100th anniversary of the 59th Street Bridge nearby, so we had the added feature of fireworks- it made for a truly magical evening!

Water's Edge provides an incredible view of New York City. They could rest on that alone - but they strive to make the experience wonderful in every way. We had a winter wedding. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Several of our guests remarked that they felt like the guests of honor the way they were served. In addition, the food was superb! This is not your rubber chicken - dry fish dinner. The food you sample at the tasting is of the same quality that your guests will enjoy. The neighborhood is relatively industrial. If you can look past that - this is the ideal spot for a fantastic wedding with a modern, metropolitan feel.

We had our wedding at the Water's Edge this past weekend. The venue was truly beautiful and elegant and so many of guests exclaimed over lovely it was. The view is really breathtaking. The service was also excellent. In particular, I would like to commend the maitre d, Latif, and the bridal attendant, Mildred. Both were wonderful work with and made everything run seamlessly. Our band was caught in traffic and Latif was able to contact them when we could not to make sure they were en route, thus calming down a very anxious bride. Mildred was so sweet and anticipated my every need or concern before I did. I also think the Water's Edge provides tremendous value. We had a breathtaking view that many venue charged triple fo.

The Water's Edge provides an unparalleled Manhattan view, as well as great service. Everyone the day of was fantastic, including the bridal attendant, Mildred, who helped my wife with uncounted numbers of things. They even helped out when our band seemed to be missing, by digging up a cell phone number (so that we could find out that the band was merely stuck in traffic). On top of which, they gave a great value, too.

I would like to strongly disagree with any negative reviews for Water's Edge NYC on this site. I have had nothing but an amazing experience with Water's Edge. The staff was attentive, and a pleasure to work with. The value for the money cannot be beat. The ambiance and decor are beautiful. I have been especially impressed with the updated new interior; sleek and classic. I have been to many weddings here, in the past and recently, and all were fantastic. We had a beautiful wedding with delicious food, and our guests are still raving about it. I have noticed the one crazy bride on here who has written a bad review (the same one mind you) on every imaginable wedding site and made me nervous about my own wedding despite all the beautiful weddings I had attended here (UNFAIR considering she left her envelopes unattended for 2 hours???) and I just want other brides out there to know this is a beautiful venue, and absolutley a great choice for your special day. The only reason I gave 4 stars on flexibilty is if you want a later cocktail hour they have to charge you for use of the restaurant but I can understand that. Some reccommended vendors I used- Hank Lane Music (Park Avenue), Pristine Events (florist I worked with Maria Nino- incredible, creative and immaculate attention to detail). Happy planning!

Yum! Waters edge's food was amazing! We had a pescaterian‎ wedding. (that is we eat fish but no meat). This made our search very difficult. We went to tons of venues and every time we asked for vegetarian/pescaterian‎ we were met with "eggplant rollatini", "salmon" and "vegetable medley"... I am nauseated thinking of it. Water's edge was an absolutely beautiful. The view is amazing and the food was phenomenal! I was upset by the person running the show the day of because he didn't give me a heads up on things that were happening (like the start of the cocktail hour or speeches for example) he also was a bit rude to me. Also we had asked for the meals of guests who we're "no-shows" and we didn't get even half of them. The person who was overall in charge and was very nice (but not there day-of) was kind enough to make it up to us after the wedding so I have to say that customer service on her part was very good. The overall value was very high. The price we paid for such a beautiful venue with amazing food was far less than other places we looked at in NYC. Our guests loved the view, the ambiance and the food and that says a lot given that most of them didn't even realize there was no meat at out wedding!

The Water's Edge was the location for our reception. It was beautiful. The pictures with the background are gorgeous. All of the guests were mesmorized by the view. They were absolutely amazed at the amount of food, at cocktail hour and dinner, and how good it was. We are still getting guests raving about the food. They were extremely flexible with the menu, and did exactly what we asked for. The cake came out beautifully and I heard it tasted good too!! It is the PERFECT location if you want the reception on the water and near the city. They were worth every penny, considering the amount of food, and the fact that open bar and wedding cake is included in price per head.

The only suggestion I have is that if pictures are being taken by the bridal party at the Water's Edge, to have the bridal attendant solely bringing food to the bridal party. We started drinking when we got there and were unable to eat/attend cocktail hour since we were taking pictures. One, maybe two, small plates of food were brought up to us, but there was 16 of us in total (7 groomsmen, 7 bridesmaids plus bride and groom) ... so needless to say everyone was starving. The bridal attendant was more worried about helping me with my dress, bouquet, veil etc... but that's what the maid of honor and bridesmaids are for!! The help was very much appreciated, but there were already 7 girls there to attend to me; so I think the bridal attendant should be there to attend to the bridal party as a whole (mainly by bringing cocktail hour food).

We love Water's Edge and so did all of our guests! The food is outstanding and the staff makes you and your guests feel like royalty. The champagne is always pouring and the ferries are so much fun for your guests who commute to and from Manhattan. The view is out of this world - our pictures are incredible - largely because of that amazing city-scape in the background.

The wedding cake was gorgeous and delicious. You don't have as many choices for what you want it to look like as you'd have someplace else - but it came out beautiful and again tasted really really good.

A few downsides - all of which can be overcome if you're organized - there are a lot of people on staff and not everyone is up to par. Some are amazing - some aren't. Find your one or two people that you know and trust and make sure all of your correspondence goes through them. Trust me - things get lost. Always call to make sure faxes are received. Also - a few of the day-of people got things wrong like which favors go where so make sure your instructions are very clear. And if you do "captain's seating" make sure your guests names are clear and correct - you'll see what I mean if you choose this venue. Don't mean to scare anybody - Water's Edge is great - just not everyone who works there is created equal.

We had our wedding at The Water's Edge and they were great on the day of. They had a very responsive and professional staff that made sure my wife and I were fully attended too, and they were able to heavily customize the food selections based on what we wanted and all of the food was met with high praise from our guests.

That said their communication before the wedding left a lot to be desired, they were often unresponsive and at one point our main contact there was replaced and we were left uninformed and had to rebuild our ideas with the new contact since they did not transition us properly. Beyond that, we had a pre-event tasting but it was irrelevant to our customized menu and left us (fortunately baselessly) worried about the event with only a few weeks to go. If this had gone more smoothly they most likely would get 5s across the board from us as they were otherwise wonderful.

The reason my husband and I chose water’s edge was because they had the best view from what we’ve seen and the food was delicious. All the feedback we’ve received mentioned how great the food was. The city view is unbeatable. All our guests kept taking pictures with the amazing backdrop.

A few negatives, which are not deal breakers but just annoying. We had wanted the crème brulee for dessert and was told we couldn't have that because they didn't have enough plates for 150 people which I thought was odd since 150 people was the minimum to have a wedding on a Saturday. I was more disappointed in the fact there wasn't an asterisk or that they didn't tell us this when they gave us the menu 11 months ago and instead waited to my final menu selections one week before my wedding. I mean this is a restaurant after all, how do you not have enough plates?? The venue provides the cake but your decor options are limited and you only get one flavor. I wanted this beautiful white cake I saw online and I wanted vanilla and red velvet so I ordered my cake from an outside vendor. So, we lost money by having to buy our own cake because we were not willing to sacrifice the look or taste of my wedding cake. May I add that the menu stated that we have to pay an additional cost to add a second flavor which we were willing to pay but the manager clearly told us we can only have one flavor. This is the reason I gave low marks for flexibility.
Again, all of these things are annoying but it didn't affect the guest’s experience and my husband and I had an amazing time at our wedding. The maître d and bridal assistant were very tentative the day of the wedding.

Read less

The biggest draw for this venue (besides the great food) is the amazing view of Manhattan. The ceiling to floor windows in the banquet space on the second floor of the restaurant provided the perfect backdrop for the reception. Our cocktail hour was during the sunset and the skyline of the city was breathtaking.

It has taken me almost a month to work up the courage to write my wedding day experience. After I type this, I plan on forgetting what happened and do my best at putting all of this behind me; remembering my wedding day for what it was, a beautiful day.

I am going to do my best at keeping this factual, so hopefully as many brides in the New York area can learn from this:

Water's Edge, Long Island City, NY

The Water's Edge, is now under new management/owners AFTER we signed our contract last year to have our wedding there. Many things were promised to us by the previous owners that we never received during the switchover. After a food tasting, where the venue treated us very well, and some extra's were thrown into our wedding package because of the unfulfilled promises, the two of us were feeling good, and we prepared for our big day.

We arrived at the Water's Edge on the day of our wedding with our wedding party ready to celebrate. There were 3 people introduced to us, the Maitre d and 2 bridal attendants. Our Maitre d, whom we had already met at another meeting, seemed warm and friendly. The other 2 were very much aloof and not really with it, but with the chaos of a wedding I was not too concerned.

The gifts that were handed to us were transferred to our bridal suite throughout the night until the end of the wedding celebration where many gifts were put on our table and never brought to the bridal suite (which by the way does not lock)
Exactly at midnight when the wedding ended, we had numerous first hand accounts from a few of our friends who saw about 25 envelopes and a small red box (I think a Macy's jewelry box) still sitting on our bride and groom table. During the chaos of the wedding ending, and half the guests being ushered to the after party boat cruise, we forgot about the gifts that were left on our table while we went on the boat ride. From that point on, those 25 envelopes and red box with cash in it were never found again.

On a separate issue, two of my bridesmaid's and the groom's mother were ASSURED by our Maitre d that we would have access to the Bridal Suite upon our return which was at 2am. Upon returning to the venue, my husband and I were shocked when we found ALL of our personal belongings (veil, shoes, makeup, bags, purses, and what we had of the GIFTS) on a push cart sitting in a hallway on the lower level of the venue. So long story short our personal stuff was picked up, picked through and brought down to a high traffic area without anyone standing with our belongings. Thinking we had everything, we loaded up our limo and headed to our hotel.

The next day and after a long night, and a morning Brunch, we were finally able to open our gifts at 5pm Saturday, (day after our wedding). To our dismay about
1/3 of our gifts were missing. We knew we would have some people who would order off the registry and/ or mail us gifts in a few months, but 1/3 seemed like a very large amount to be missing. After making a separate list of who we did not receive gifts from, we realized that many of the people on this list physically handed us gifts.

We knew we had to make a decision before our gifts were put into the wrong hands and as humiliating as it was, literally called every single person we did not receive a gift from, asking them if they did hand us an envelope, get their story and kindly ask that they cancel their checks.
We then proceeded to call the venue and tell them what happened. The coordinator assured us everything would be okay, and agreed to show us the surveillance tapes so we could see firsthand what happened to the red box and envelopes.

We offered to come to the Water's Edge and sift through the trash for our missing gifts (what we estimated were around $5,000 in cash and checks) a few hours before we left for our honeymoon, just in case they had been thrown out by mistake. We were denied access, and were blatantly told 'none of the Water's Edge staff would throw out such a large amount of envelopes and a jewelry box.' We TOLD the Water's Edge that we unfortunately will not be around for 2 weeks (as hard as it was for us to leave), but that the groom's parents would be calling to schedule an appointment to watch the tapes so we all could have peace of mind and TRY to get to the bottom of the mystery as to where the gifts went, knowing they never made it from the bride and groom table to the Bridal Suite.

The banquet manager agreed to comply and meet with our parents while we were away. My husband's parents called the Water's Edge trying to set up a time to watch the tapes but had a very difficult time getting in touch with the manager. A severe lack of customer service and callbacks were to blame for the more than 2 week time lapse for scheduling a few minutes to look at the tapes that had recorded the bride/groom table the entire night. The way that our family was treated regarding this serious issue was a complete joke and outright wrong. I am appalled at how this was all handled, especially after spending so much of our hard earned money to have our wedding here. I felt that we were owed respect and courtesy, NONE of which were received.

My husband and I were on our way to the venue for our scheduled appointment to view the tapes and literally 15 minutes before, we received a call saying the tapes had been deleted. The call was from someone that we had never dealt with before.

I can't explain what I think of when I think of my wedding day, but imagine a crime being committed on what is supposed to be the most memorable night of your life. The Water's Edge has been so awful to us and our family since our wedding night that we are shocked and angry; and never want anyone to experience what we did. From managers blatantly telling us to sue them if we are insinuating that one of their employees did something with the envelopes, to not calling us back. The only way we are going to get over this is to put this behind us, but not until as many people as possible know about what we went through with this venue. If we didn't do this, it would be an injustice to other people getting married at the Water's Edge.

Even though writing this was somewhat therapeutic, the only advice I can offer if you are getting married at the Water's Edge is to WATCH YOUR BELONGINGS because you never know who will touch them without your permission. Surveillance tapes were deleted after they knew we had gifts missing from their venue. Our only assumption is that there was something on those tapes the venue did not want us to see.

The Waters Edge says that we could pay an outside company $1200-2500 to recover the surveillance tapes (which we cannot afford to do). They should have saved the video recordings from our wedding night immediately after we called about the stolen/misplaced envelopes; there is no excuse for them not doing that. At the very least, it would have shed light as to what happened, absolving the venue of any wrongdoing, and not having such an angry customer along with dozens of our guests who know how we were treated.

All I can do is keep thinking positive thoughts and look at the pictures I took before this crime was committed and my day was ruined.
