Frequently Asked Questions for Officiant
What religious affiliations do you serve?
Christian (no denomination)
Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
What is your attire for the ceremony?
It really depends on the wedding. Typically I am in a suit in tie unless we are on the beach.
Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
Absolutely. Every wedding is going to be different. In some cases, the bride and groom will have their vows written. More often, based on our discussions I will write their vows and we will bounce ideas off one another.
Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
It is always great to come in with your own ideas. If you need help, I would love to.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
Part of making a wedding personal is selecting your own reading. Whether it is from the Bible, a favorite poem, or something special to the two of you, it is important for it to have significance to the most important people there. The bride and groom!
How long are your ceremonies?
The ceremonies are typically 25 minutes. It all depends how large the bridal party is, if there is a reading, candle ceremony, etc.
Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
It is up to you. I am happy to work with couples and also can refer you to an excellent MFCC.
Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
I am happy to be there but I always suggest for couples to save their money. We will go over everything before the wedding day. Typically people will want me there if there are a lot of out of town guest or if there is no coordinator.
Do you supply a sound system?
