If I could give the Westfields a million star rating I would in a heartbeat. The staff and services they provided for our wedding were absolutely impeccable. I had the pleasure of working with Michelle M., our event planner and Sara our sales associate and we were treated with the utmost respect and hospitality. Michelle was a godsend on the day of our wedding and checked in on me throughout the event to make sure every single one of my needs were addressed. The hotel staff accommodated all of the needs of our guests and were so courteous and kind throughout their stay. The Westfields Marriott was not only a gorgeous, regal, elegant, and FABULOUS venue, but the event coordinator and all of the staff were extremely helpful. Everything at the reception went smoothly and we were so pleased with the outcome of our wedding reception!
We did have 2 sets of wedding crashers from a wedding down the hall - which i promptly shooed away (the only issue the entire night!)

This venue is everything we every dreamed of and more. My husband and I are amazed that this jewel is literally in our back yard (8miles from home) and while we were there, you could've told us we were in the middle of tucked away resort somewhere and we would believe you. I didn't want to have my wedding in a hotel. The hustle and bustle of a tall obnoxious building had zero appeal to me. We looked at several country clubs, and private estate locations, before stumbling upon the Westfields Marriott. As soon as we got there, we knew it was the one! Zero hotel feel to it. It looks and feels like a beautiful resort inside and out. The service is impeccable, and the event planning staff is the most professional I have ever come across. Top notch! I LOVE Westfield's Marriott!! The hotel is beautiful and the staff exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be any happier with our decision to go with them.

Sad to say, I am a little OCD when it comes to planning and John Neetz, our Event Manager made my planning a breeze! He was exceptional: VERY responsive, helpful and detailed. I was so relaxed the week of my wedding and enjoyed every moment of it because of him and their staff's exceptional service!! They really go out of their way to make your event a very memorable one! Oh and the food was GREAT too!!

We LOVED working with the Marriott. We had narrowed down our choice to the Westfields and a few other hotels in the area, and we're very happy we went with the Westfields. They are INCREDIBLY professional. If anything went wrong during our wedding or reception, I had no idea - everything went super smoothly for us, even though we changed both the ceremony AND cocktail hour locations at the very last minute. Our coordinator, Rachel Lewis, handled everything for us on the day of - I never even saw the florist, but everything was set up perfectly as if by magic :) We always had a response back IMMEDIATELY to any questions or concerns, and our guests raved about how well everything went and especially how delicious the food was. Our wedding reception was done beautifully by the Marriott staff. Jennifer and Leslie were our event managers and both were responsive and worked diligently with us to make everything perfect. We had both our rehearsal dinner and reception at the Marriott. Both nights the food was amazing. Jennifer Simmons was our event coordinator and she was wonderful, responsive, flexible and very sweet! We booked the Marriott over a year in advance so we started working with a few people that no longer worked there by the time our wedding actually came around but that never got in the way. Ellen Ouellette the director of event planning even reached out to us to make sure everything was going smooth with our transition. The hotel itself is beautiful and makes for amazing pictures both inside and out. I recommend booking the suite for the night before the wedding as well. It was perfect to get ready in with my girls and really makes you feel like royalty the whole weekend! The only issue that we had was that the lighting people did not actually respond to our emails and we did not get the up lights that we wanted. I believe they are contracted out but be on top of that if it is something you really want.

From the start of the planning process through to us departing the hotel, the Westfields Marriott did an exceptional job with our wedding! John Neetz was a fantastic Event Manager to work with - responsive, professional and offered great suggestions/advice throughout the process! The Banquet Chef and staff prepared an excellent menu (all of our guests raved and left saying "I can't eat anymore!")! It wasn't just the banquet staff that did a superior job, but it was the entire hotel staff. We heard from most of our guests that everyone said hello or enjoy the celebration. Although there were 2 other weddings that day, the staff was amazing and made my husband and I feel special as if we were the only wedding they had. The Westfields helped us pull off our wedding that far exceeded our expectations! I cannot recommend them enough!

If you get married anywhere in Northern Virginia, this is the place to do it. The Westfields staff, specifically Jennifer Simmons, is hands-down the most service-oriented team you could ever want. My DJ didn't show to do my ceremony music (see review on Washington Talent Agency) and Jennifer and her team were able to ensure that my ceremony still had music and that the guests never even had a clue. She literally saved the day. The food was absolutely delicious, the service fantastic (we had a lot of compliments on how they got the food out to everyone so quickly) and it was the most beautiful setting. They literally think of everything for you and make it as worry-free as possible. Our banquet captain was incredible as well. They'll even help you with all the rentals and your lighting needs!
The only minor thing is that if you are like me and like to get started on planning, you just need to be aware that they have a LOT of weddings going on, so you may not get as much attention when your date is further out. Once you hit the 3-month mark, though, they are awesome.
Our guests had an incredible time and it was due to Westfields' amazing hospitality, service, and attitude. Thank you!!

When searching out for the perfect location for our wedding, my first thought that came to mind was the Westfield’s Marriott. I had stayed at this hotel years ago and remember thinking then, it was just the most gorgeous hotel I had ever seen. This is an extraordinary beautiful hotel with top notch exceptional service. I could have not asked for anything better. The staff went above and beyond my expectations which made our day extra special. As soon as you turn in the gates,the scenic large trees surround you down a path to the grand entrance. It literally is such a jaw dropping experience that takes you to a feeling like you are in some sort of a different land. The front of the hotel is gorgeous, and the garden terrace in the back of the hotel are awesome for pictures. From the very first moment we visited the hotel everyone we met was so professional and courteous. The events coordinator graciously gave my fiance a tour of the property and went over all the packages they offered. After looking at several other hotels that offered mediocre services where everything was additional we knew, this was the place. They offer three packages and were willing to work with us to customize a package that worked for us. The food and service were beyond our expectations. The events manager, John Neetz made sure our every whim was taken care of, right down to all the last minute logistical details, i.e. placement of the menus, escort cards, and table settings. There was nothing I had to worry about because the staff took care of our every wish. They even put together over 150 mini fairy berry lights upon my request. There were even two other weddings going on that evening, but you would never even know it. I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know. Overall great experience with Westfields Marriott. The price was reasonable and they were really accommodating and helpful every step of the way. My coordinator was Jennifer and she was amazing. She took care of every detail for me and literally rolled up her sleeves and get her hands dirty to help set things up. She was a total pro and knew how to manage everything with very little input from me. My day was totally stress free thanks to her!

Also, I do have to mention that the food was actually good. Hotel food usually sucks especially when you have 200+ guests but their food was not bad at all!

One name comes to mind when I think of my wedding and its JOHN NEETZ!!! What an amazing and caring guy! Marriott should award him for his quick responses and great ability to fix last minute problems!! He was very professional and provided detailed information as we worked towards building our wedding. During the wedding he was there early in the morning making sure everything was set and everyone was updated with information. He was there until after the dinner to make sure everything ran smoothly! What a great guy!

The venue was beautiful! We got the presidential suite and it was huge! haha. Very clean and the staff was quick with everything we needed.

One name comes to mind when I think of my wedding and its JOHN NEETZ!!! What an amazing and caring guy! This hotel made the wedding absolutely beautiful. The staff is very kind and friendly. The event coordinator, John, did a great job with keeping up and making our wedding perfect. We were in the Grand Dominion Ballroom and had 500 people. We had unique party favors (Jones Soda Bottles) which we asked him to lay out in abc order and according to the groom and brides side and they were exactly how we wanted it. The ballroom decor is perfect and the layout is very spacious. We were given the complimentary bridal suite for the night and it is absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't have picked a better hotel. Our guests were all very satisfied with their hotel rooms as well!

We are so thankful to have chosen Westfields Marriott as our wedding reception site - very beautiful location and wonderful, supportive staff! We booked about 6months prior to our event date (6/29/13). The location is outside the busy, traffic-congested wash DC area and in a quiet part of northern VA still easily accessible to main roads/highways. The staff we worked with included Sarah, Christine, Leslie and John - all of them made the planning process that much easier for us. The inside/outside decor is elegantly designed, lots of space and ballrooms to choose from, as well plenty of sunshine and areas to capture photos. The various entrees and hors d'oeuvres choices are so delicious!! The chef was able to accommodate our food options, including a few gluten-free entrees some guests needed.

Our coordinator was John. He was so fun to work with - easy going and attentive to details we discussed. He is organized and responsive to emails/phone calls. He went out of his way to make sure the ballroom and cocktail area layout was to what we wanted. If there were inquiries he didn't have an immediate answer for, he'd be sure to do some research, discuss with other staff, and get back to me in a timely fashion. On the day of our reception, John was there to assure us that everything was going well, and to ask if we needed anything. He was very smiley and upbeat, which made the entire wedding party so happy too!

We reserved a room block at this hotel without scheduling a wedding or reception there. We reserved only a relatively small number of rooms for a very affordable price.

Yet, the event coordinator (Kristin) was incredibly responsive and helpful with not only setting up our room block but also with other wedding-related tasks (e.g. arranging for those wedding party to prepare at the hotel, allowing late check-out times, etc.). We can't imagine how much more helpful she would have been if we had an actual event at the hotel.

Besides the services of Kristin and others, the hotel itself is beautiful with spacious accommodations and public areas.

I don't think I have enough space to say all of the good things that I want to say about Westfields Marriott. I booked this venue for my April 13, 2013 wedding back in November 2011. Ana got me started and was very understanding of the fact that I wanted to book so early on! Once the time came, we were given Courtney Walsh as our event coordinator. Just to name a few characteristics about Courtney: Professional, prompt, helpful, flexible, organized, reliable... I could go on and on. I couldn't have asked for a better coordinator. Courtney was ALWAYS available, either in person or via e-mail. She was a trooper with last minute changes the week before our event. She was so calm and organized and gave me such peace of mind!

The venue itself? Beautiful. You can't beat it. Gorgeous architecture, paintings, furniture... This isn't your typical Marriott! All of my wedding guests raved about the hotel. The food is also phenomenal. Our tasting appointment offered us SO much food to taste. Again, our guests raved about how delicious the food was.

As a very organized and determined bride, I have to say that our reception in the Fairfax Dining Room went flawlessly. Every staff member involved was absolutely incredible. I have not ONE complaint (I am a pessimist keep in mind!) Every staff member was accommodating, professional, friendly, flexible, etc etc! At our reception, Courtney was so present and remembered everything that was important to us.

My family, guests, and husband and I were so genuinely impressed and thrilled with the overall experience we had at the Westfields Marriott. I wouldn't have changed anything.

From the moment we walked into Westfields Marriott 5 years before our actual wedding, we knew that we would one day have our reception there. I did not have to worry one second about whether the food or service would be good on the night of our wedding. Everything was perfect the entire evening. She took care of everything, including my last minute request for a plasma tv to display a slide show. The food is amazing and is definitely not your normal wedding food. Everything far surpassed our expectations. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make sure that all the guests had a great time while staying at the hotel. There was another wedding reception at the same time as ours in an upstairs ballroom and you would never have known. They do such a good job keeping the receptions separate. Northern VA Brides - LOOK NO FURTHER!! HAVE YOUR WEDDING AT THE WESTFIELDS MARRIOTT!!! My husband and I looked at a lot of different venues as we were planning our wedding, and were referred to the Westfields Marriott by a friend whose company held their holiday party there. We made an appointment and met with Katie Kulp, one of their Sales Representatives, who went through all of the different rooms that were available on our date and explained the costs (they have a minimum food and beverage amount that must be met, and that minimum changes depending on the month). Although their prices were a little higher per plate than other venues we had visited, since we knew people who had stayed and eaten there, we knew that the higher price would come with much higher quality service. We are SO happy that we chose to have our reception at the Westfields Marriott because 2 months later we are still getting compliments from our wedding guests about the amazing service that they received at the Westfields!

My husband and I worked with Lynann Dumas, a Senior Event Manager, to plan our wedding and she was AMAZING!! She was so responsive when we emailed or called with questions, and accommodated all of our requests. We had an idea of what we wanted the table arrangement to be (we booked the Fairfax Dining Room), and Lynann and her team were able to make that idea come to fruition. We cannot say enough great things about Lynann and the Westfields staff!

On the day of the reception, we were introduced to our banquet captain, Koji, who was in charge of making sure that my husband and I were taken care of. Since I love to dance, and am therefore constantly parched, I asked Koji to bring me water periodically throughout the dancing, and about 3 songs into dancing, there he was with my water!! Amazing!!

We would whole heartedly recommend the Westfields Marriott as a Wedding Reception site (we held our ceremony at a local church)!!

If this website allowed for more stars I would give every one of them! My husband and I were supposed to get married on the Jersey Shore on what turned out to be the weekend after Hurricane Sandy. The Wednesday before our scheduled wedding, we found out our NJ venue couldn't host the wedding. We walked into Westfields Marriott on Thursday morning and asked Sarah, Ellen, and their team to pull off the impossible --relocate our wedding on 48 hours notice. Not only were they up for the challenge (they could have easily told us we were crazy), but they managed to pull off the wedding of our dreams replete with delicious food, gorgeous lighting, and an incredibly attentive staff. Our guests remarked that if not for the change in city, they never would have known the wedding had been replanned 48 hours in advance. 12 hours after we first walked into the Westfields Mariott, our guests began arriving and were greeted by the hotels warm, friendly, and incredibly flexible staff.

Words cannot express our gratitude for making our dream wedding possible in what can only be described as trying circumstances.

I knew I wanted my wedding at the Westfields Marriott about a year in advance, so we booked it right away. From the start, the hotel was very accommodating of our requests (during the initial contract planning stage and onwards). We had a very large Indian wedding, and the hotel is very experienced in handling weddings of our type and scale...which made everything so easy! We had over 100 guests coming from out of town and staying in the hotel, and the Marriott was very flexible in making everyone feel welcome and taken care of. We had some issues along the way, but the Marriott was able to resolve every single one of them. And they found ways to accommodate even our most specific requests. Courtney was our event coordinator, and she was so flexible, responsive, and helpful. Even on the day of the wedding, she made sure we got everything we needed. I cannot emphasize how happy we were with our venue for the ceremony and reception. I had been here years before for a company party (ahem...of an ex...ahem) and had fallen in love. It was beautiful, reasonable priced, flexible, accommodating, helpful...if I could, I would give them 100 stars! My now husband and I planned for a 4/29/12 wedding. After the venue we had selected neglected to tell us they were going to be under construction during that time, it was late January and we were desparate to search for a new venue that met our budget constraints. I live near the Westfields Marriott but decided to check it out anyway. I met with Christine and explained my situation - she said she would do all she can to try and accomodate their costs to our budget. A tour with the parents and the fiance later, I had a contract that was barely $4k over my original budget for venue/food and beverage. I expected it to be so much more, considering Westfields Marriott's hotel star rating, but they bent over backwards for me to help me stay close to budget in a timely manner. The star of the hour was my Event Planner, Leslie. She went above and beyond and kept me on top of things while the madness that is wedding planning ensued. She kept me in the loop, was always available to chat, and adhered to my crazy work hours just so I could run by the hotel to meet with her in person. And of course, on my wedding day, everything was set up to our liking, everything started ON TIME (which almost never happens!), and the event went off without a hitch! Food was great, ambience was wonderful, and my husband and I heard nothing but rave reviews for Leslie, the staff, the location, and everything you could possibly think of. If you have a somewhat flexible budget, I highly recommend the Westfields Marriott for your wedding venue.

It would have been perfect but mother nature had other plans so we had to move it inside. The biggest concern was flipping the ballroom from ceremony to dinner during cocktail hour but the Marriott staff worked so hard they did a great job! Everybody raved about the food! They said it was so good both during the cocktail hour and at dinner. The staff did everything they could to make sure my husband and I were comfortable and having fun - this included providing us with food, beverages, and whatever else we needed. That night we got to stay in the presidential suite which was so amazing and spacious! It included a jacuzzi tub and a shower and a huge bed!

As a bride with precious little time on her hands and lots of out of town family, having our ceremony and reception at a central and single location was crucial. Westfields Marriott met every expectation my husband and I had, and our wedding coordinator Sara Twigg went above and beyond to ensure that no detail was missed and our day was perfect. The packages offered by Westfields are competitively priced, the food/beverage quality is outstanding, and Sara and the team were willing to work through any and all changes and modifications without hesitation or question. Sara and team even assisted in reservations for the room blocks and worked to ensure our guests had no issues with their stay. Westfields Marriott met every expectation my husband and I had, and our wedding coordinator Sara Twigg went above and beyond to ensure that no detail was missed and our day was perfect. The packages offered by Westfields are competitively priced, the food/beverage quality is outstanding, and Sara and the team were willing to work through any and all changes and modifications without hesitation or question. Sara and team even assisted in reservations for the room blocks and worked to ensure our guests had no issues with their stay. The Westfields Marriott did a fantastic job! My husband and I could not have asked for more. Every associate went out of their way to make sure our weekend was incredibly special, not only for us but for all of our guests. Marissa my Event Manager was outstanding! She is responsive, flexible and calm. Knowing she was there that day made me calm all day. Kodjo was our Banquet Captain, he executed the event flawlessly. The servers were fantastic and the food was amazing!! People are still talking about how incredible the food was, thank you so much Chef Sullivan!! Thank you to the front desk staff, especially Mary Ashe at the Front Desk and Nazila in reservations. You both are amazing and truly appreciated for all that you helped us with. From the moment I saw the Marriott, I knew I wanted to haveu wedding there. The salespeople there were very kind and accomodating. The wedding coordinator I worked with was great. She helped redone our ideas and gave us options for linens and thinggs that fit our price range as well as the look we were going for. On the day of the wedding, they were just phenomenal. Our reception was held in the Palm Court restaurant/Fairfax Dining Room and it was absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious, the service was great, and our guests told us that they felt like they were being treated like royalty! There were other wedding receptions taking place at Westfields on the night of our reception and yet we wouldn't have known if we hadn't seen the other newlywed couples in passing, which was fun because we happily congratulated each other! Each wedding has their own event management team and they take care of you as if you were the only ones there. I can't recommend this place enough! Westfields will always have a special place in our hearts.

We had our wedding reception at the Westfields Marriott in May. I don't think that we could have chose a better place. The service was outstanding, we were waited on hand and foot the night of our wedding. The ballroom was beautiful, they made sure every detail was perfect. I could not have asked for a better place to get married. Every person we worked with made us feel like a king and queen on our wedding day and every day leading up to it. They seemed very flexible with prices- all you had to do was ask. They threw in many perks they didn't make a big deal about letting us know about (upgraded bar, discounted plates for guests who didn't show, an extra hour of open bar). When I first visited the Westfields Marriott hotel, I found it to be absolutely stunning, so much so that I figured it would be out of our budget. But I was hopeful as I knew that the hotel would lend itself for amazing pictures and to my surprise, Virginia Keeler accommodated my budget to a T. I was then able to work with their event coordinator, Jason Horni, who made sure we were well taken care of and provided us with many options to keep us within budget and worked with us when I changed my mind a million and one times and even when we decided to work with vendors outside the hotel.
The day of our wedding did not go without a hitch, but Jason worked with vendors and family to help make the day go as smooth as possible. He also made himself available to both my husband and I and made it a point to accommodate us at all times.
The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception hall was beautifully decorated; everything I had asked for was met, and when I thought it could not get any better, their service staff treated everyone like royalty! I had numerous complements on how everything looked, but most importantly on how well they were all treated and well taken care of. The complementary honeymoon suite provided by the hotel was not only beautiful but very romantic, it was a huge suite that came with a fireplace, balcony, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
We would like to thank the Westfields Marriott family for making the wedding day of my dreams come true! We had our reception at Westfields in May. I began looking for a venue when I knew I was getting married...but before the ring and the date. Anne Wood helped us with all the "pre-date" selections. Anne was very patient, knowing I wanted to have the reception there but just not having a date yet. She would check in with me via email periodically to make sure I didn't have any unanswered questions.

When he finally popped the question and we picked a date, Anne handed us off to our event coordinator, Kelly Andrews. Kelly was as professional and as accommodating as Anne was. What a great staff they have there! Kelly answered my questions, no matter how many emails I sent in one day! We met twice before the big day to review table set ups, linens, centerpieces, the meals, etc. I had a lot of items to place on the tables the day of, and Kelly took all these into her hands the week before my wedding. It was great to not have to worry about all the centerpieces and extra items the day of the wedding.

We were given options for our floor plan, Kelly reviewed and tweaked my reception timeline I had given the DJ [and even volunteered to contact the DJ with the changes so I wouldn't have to worry about it], and put all my worries at ease. Everything was perfect and my wedding coordinator was very easy to get a hold of. She and her team contacted and organized with all of my vendors. I was only upset with one little thing - our breakout room for the bridal party didn't have the cocktail hour food already set up. The waiters were bringing it in as we sat in there. We worked with our event planner (Sara Twigg) for about 7 months in planning, and she was with us every step of the way, including the actual day of the wedding, where she was there pretty much the whole day before the ceremony and during the reception - making sure everything went as planned. My husband and I are very detailed and organized people, and wanted everything to go exactly as we wanted, and they were very accommodating and patient with us. We created our own "script" for both the ceremony and reception (how things would be laid out, order of events, etc) and the Marriott paid attention and abided by our script/wishes, and were always very respectful. The food was incredible - kudos to the chef and his crew. The Banquet staff was very helpful and professional. Our guests were so impressed - I don't think they knew what to expect, and they were just all so impressed with how nice and elegant everything was. It was also so convenient and smooth to have the ceremony and reception right there at the same place. I absolutely loved this venue, and got rave reviews about it from all my guests. Not only was it a beautiful setting, but the service and the food was amazing. They were very flexible in adjusting the wedding package to accommodate what we wanted. I only had one small problem the entire year I worked with them, and that was when my event coordinator changed twice without me being notified. I only found out when I tried to contact them. However, I loved the event coordinator I ended up with; Leslie was a pleasure to work with and answered all my questions promptly and completely. Also, the bridal suite is awesome and a nice bonus. All in all, I am beyond satisfied with my wedding at Westfields Marriott and would highly recommend it.

The service at the westfields Marriott is top notch. Rachel at the Westfields was extremely professional and accommodating. She was extremely responsive with every question or concern I had and did all should could to go above and beyond my needs and the needs of my guests. We had 110+ rooms booked for our wedding weekend and all of our guests kept raving about the friendly and accommodating staff. We used Westfields Marriott for our Wedding/Reception Venue for it's beautiful Sunset Terrace for our outdoor ceremony and because it could accommodate the large size of our wedding reception. Although we were limited in capacity to 200 for the ceremony, we couldn't have been more thrilled with the privacy, spectacular grounds, proximity to Dulles Airport, the wonderful accommodations (especially the complimentary bridal suite) and especially the kindness of the staff. Even with our wedding being held on Memorial Day Weekend, they were able to give us an intimate experience and accommodate our various requests- provided us extra rooms for our guests as they became available, added on last-minute breakfast accommodations, gave us extra space for our bridal party to practice a surprise the night before and even worked with our decorator to ensure she had adequate time/space for setup. We couldn't have asked for a more picturesque venue or better wedding day!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Westfields Marriott, which is an absolutely stunning property! The ceremony was outside on the beautiful Sunset Terrace, along with the cocktail hour. Our evening reception was held inside the Palm Court restaurant/Fairfax Dining Room, which is a wonderful and stylish alternative to a ballroom. Everything was beautiful! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the one word my guests used to describe the entire wedding was elegant.

Our Wedding Event Coordinator was Carla, and she was so nice and helpful. I will say the one thing that was frustrating was we were passed to several coordinators throughout the planning process. Apparently one quit/was fired, and there was a good amount of time reverifying what was already said/agreed upon by the previous coordinators. However, the Marriott has incomparable customer service, and the service staff was very attentive and nice to everyone. I have been to weddings at very nice hotels, like the Ritz Carlton, and the Westfields Marriott was a more beautiful venue with more attentive service and more elegance. All of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen.

Overall, our wedding could not have been any better – everything was elegant and just perfect. After the months of research, I firmly believe this is the best place to have your wedding and reception in the Washington DC area. I highly recommend the Westfields Marriott.

It is hard in the Washington DC area to find something that is beautiful, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and something that can make your wedding day the day of your dreams. We thought this was all true until we found the Westfields Marriott. Pulling up, it gives the ambiance of a (very, very large) mansion, not a skyscraper hotel. The inside is massive, with plenty of hotel rooms and places to have a wedding! Our photographer LOVED the different places for pictures and picture opportunities outside, it was wonderful.

The Jefferson ballroom was where we had our reception event, and it was absolutely PERFECT. We dealt with Virginia Keeler concerning our contract, and she was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional and listened to our needs and helped us to create a contract fitting to the wedding we wanted. She was an absolute professional, and very helpful all the way to the wedding day!

Our coordinator was Kelly Andrews, and she was an absolute sweetheart and really knew her stuff! Kelly coordinated with me, and kept me on top of things! She would give suggestions if she was asked and always made sure to send me e-mails verifying what we had discussed or chosen. Very professional, and a pleasure to work with!

The room was set up perfect, and was better than I could have imagined. The food was PERFECT, everyone was complementing the food. We had new york strip steak, grouper filet, stuffed breast of chicken, and a vegan meal. It was PERFECT. They were so willing to work with us for our 3 vegan guests, it was wonderful.

The package was fantastic, our bridal suite was included and was an extra large, fantastic room! The wait staff that night was wonderful, all the plated meals were served at the same time, everyone was professional, we were extremely pleased! I don't think the night could have gone better. I don't think a better reception place exists in the DC area. It was the perfect wedding, I could not have asked for more.

I looked at several reception sites before choosing Westfields Marriott. One factor that played heavily into my decision was that most of our wedding guests were from out of town so I wanted to make sure my guests would have a nice hotel to stay at that was convenient to the airport and would provide them with enough to do on-site. Westfields is a beautiful hotel and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Westfields offers a lot for guests - spacious and clean rooms, outdoor pool, spa, tennis courts, nearby golf course, and a bar area with pool tables. Plus, there are at least four ballrooms to chose from for events.

My event coordinator was Brennan Schilling and she was GREAT to work with!!! I had a lot of questions and changes throughout the planning process and she was extremely gracious with me and gave me everything I needed. We had a tasting prior to the wedding to pick out all of hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and entrees. The food there is not typical hotel food. It was delicious and the chef will work with you to achieve whatever taste you want. Westfields gives you a HUGE bridal suite for day of/night. My bridesmaids and I got ready in the suite the day of and we had so much room.

We decided we wanted to have the cocktail hour on the outdoor terrace and have the dinner/dance in one of their smaller ballrooms. Unfortunately, it was way too hot the day of the wedding to have cocktails on the terrace, so at the last minute, I decided to move the cocktail reception inside and everyone was fabulous at accommodating my request without complaint. The waitstaff was very professional during cocktail/dinner service and made sure that all of our guests were being taken care of. During the dinner, there was a slight issue with the entrees I ordered. That was a bit disappointing but it was not enough of a deal breaker that I wouldn't have had the reception there again (and of course none of the guests noticed). Brennan did follow-up with me after the event to go over everything and listen to the feedback I gave.

Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel and staff, and my guests only had positive things to say about their stay there. Most said it was the best hotel they had ever stayed at for a wedding. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you want a wedding where you feel completely taken care of and special! I would also recommend Brennan Schilling because she is fun to work with and I felt like she really cared about making our event the best it could be.

We had our wedding reception here in the Jeffersonian Ballroom. It was near Christmastime and the Westfields Marriott was BEAUTIFUL!!! The food was excellent and service was great. So many people were raving about how wonderful a reception it was. They even threw in a really nice honeymoon suite for us for free. They made sure all our gifts made it safely to our room and made sure that we were the center of attention (even though there were many other events like Christmas parties at the same time) If venue is one of your more important items on your list, consider the Marriott!

Once we were engaged we knew exactly where we wanted to have our evening wedding, Westfields does an amazing job! They were so easy to work with. Jason Horni, took care of everything even making sure our favors, and place cards were set up as we wanted, he even cut the fresh roses we had placed in each napkin. They truly go above and beyond! They made sure all of our wedding gifts, flowers and decorations were returned to my parents suite. They also decorated our wedding night suite with rose petals and champagne. It was gorgeous. Our guests got a great room rate and brunch the next morning. Absolutely amazing!

The Marriott was great very service oriented, flexible, responsive and professional. You get assigned a wedding planner, and ours was FANTASTIC he even thew in a free hour of open bar to stop everyone from fighting about the best way to handle the dinner service! My only complaint was that I never was introduced to my banquet captain, but my other vendors carried everything so it ended up being fine anway.

I had my wedding at the Westfields Marriott at the Palm Springs Resturant and it was absolutely fantastic! Food was amazing, service was great and my event coordinator helped me every step of the way to plan the reception in the way I had envisioned. I had Sara Twigg help coordinate my wedding reception at the Westfield's Marriott and she did such a great job. She helped provide me with a timeline to make the planning process easier and less stressful and she was able to help us with a menu to fit our budget. The evening went very smoothly and I had the wedding reception of my dreams. The hotel is very elegant and everyone there was very accommodating. The only thing I would have changed (which I couldn't have, even if I wanted to) is the fact that there was an Indian Wedding going on there the same evening where they had an elephant blocking the valet parking and main hotel entrance when we arrived. It was our big day and we were paying a lot of money for our wedding reception too, and we had many elderly grandparents who had to walk from the parking lot across the street. But overall, it was a great venue and I loved it! Thanks to everyone at the Marriott!

I had Sara Twigg help coordinate my wedding reception at the Westfield's Marriott and she did such a great job. She helped provide me with a timeline to make the planning process easier and less stressful and she was able to help us with a menu to fit our budget. The evening went very smoothly and I had the wedding reception of my dreams. The hotel is very elegant and everyone there was very accommodating. The only thing I would have changed (which I couldn't have, even if I wanted to) is the fact that there was an Indian Wedding going on there the same evening where they had an elephant blocking the valet parking and main hotel entrance when we arrived. It was our big day and we were paying a lot of money for our wedding reception too, and we had many elderly grandparents who had to walk from the parking lot across the street. We had our entire wedding weekend at the Westfields Marriott and it was perfect! Brett Jenkins was our contact and he was absolutely wonderful; he and his staff were SO accomadating over the entire weekend...even during our last minute changes. Since we had a lot of out of town guests this was a great place for a weekend getaway. The hotel did a wonderful job on everything from the rehersal dinner, to a dessert reception the night before the wedding, and the entire wedding itself.

Our ceremony was outside on the stone terrace, which was beautiful. Since it was September everything was very green and the surrounding trees provided enough shade. We were a little concerned with the heat, but the hotel also provided a beverage station for us, which worked out nicely. Some people warned me that the planes flying overheard to Dulles were a nuisance, but we did not have any problems, and the hotel did provide an audio package (microphones) just in case. We followed the ceremony with the cocktail hour outside which was perfect in the early evening. We also did a lot of our pictures outside which came out beautifully (even better then the indoor ones.)

The dinner/dance was inside in one of the ballrooms and the hotel did a beautiful job with the set up and lighting. They were also flawless in managing the order and progressions of events and moving our guests from one location to the next. The food at Westfields was also fantastic - the coconut shrimp and crab cakes were especially a hit.

I also decided to rent a suite at the hotel for the night before and the day of the wedding, so all of the bridesmaids could get ready together. The suite they gave me was HUGE and we literally had different stations for hair, make-up. We even had lunch served which was very nice and fun for all of us to hang out together.

The staff at Westfields did a fabulous job for my wedding. There were things that I had asked about such as DJ placement, but my comment must have fell on deaf ears. Which is was my husbands family ended up with. The room was plenty big enough that they didn't have to put the grooms parents table in between the DJ and the speakers. I made this comment to my wedding coordinator, that from the look of the seating plan if looked like the groom's parents were going to be blasted out of their seats, but she assured me that's where they always put the DJ, and it won't be a problem. She was wrong. After indroductions, I never saw my wedding coorinator again. The waiter service staff were excellent. They did a good job getting everyone a meal. There were many servers and it went smoothly. Their was some confusion of coffee and cake serving, but I think the servers overall were awesome. The hotel treated me very well but I thought they could have been a bit more personable. I was lucky the staff did know who I was mostly bc I was the only wedding that day. Thank goodness! I wanted to feel like a princess and my room and room service was wonderful! They left my husband and I champagne and strawberries for after our wedding. Very romantic. My husband and I loved the Westfields, as did our guests! We chose Westfields based on its location (stand alone hotel in the midst of trees instead of other commercial property) and appearance (filled with Asian art; distinct architecture compared to other area hotels). Another advantage that we didn't expect - Westfields had power when most of northern Virginia didn't after the 6/29 storm.
Several of the reviews mentioned Marissa as the best event manager there. She was originally assigned to our event, which I was pleased about, but she relocated several months before our wedding. Leslie Grimes was then assigned to our event, and she was phenomenal! She was incredibly nice and very responsive. She answered all my ridiculously detailed questions along with my parents' equally detailed questions. She also coordinated with our wedding planner and other vendors, which helped minimize my responsibilities as middleman.
Cost-wise, it's on par with other hotels and, thankfully, my husband is a skilled negotiator so we made sure to get certain amenities included up front. Lessons learned: book all rooms (ballroom, conference room, foyer, etc.) for longer than you expect because your vendors will probably want to arrive earlier, and make sure any outside caterer (only for meals, not cake/dessert) has $5 million in insurance since Westfields requirement is higher than the standard $1 million.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the venue and the staff there. Our guests raved about their stay there. A couple of our friends are using the venue next month, and I'm looking forward to enjoying all the amenities - swimming pool, tennis courts, breakfast buffet, and pub where we can watch soccer!

Our event coordinator, Marissa, was wonderful and always very responsive and professional. We loved her! Even though we were given two other event coordinators at Westfield's in the year that we were preparing for the wedding, it worked out very well. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and it was great that after the wedding our guests could go straight to their hotel rooms. The venue worked with us on our budget, which made it possible for us to have our wedding at such a gorgeous venue. The hotel lighting company, SWANK, was very helpful, and has worked in each of the ballrooms on many many occasisons so they knew exactly what to do to make the room "shine". The food was just fabulous. You and your groom (and two others) will get a full out tasting of each menu option (this was one of my grooms favorite parts!).

I would say to research vendors (chivari chair rental companies in particular) as Westfield's recommended vendors that were more expensive than other local vendors.

I'd also recommend to ther brides that you ask about other weddings on the same day as yours. There was a very large indian wedding on the same day as ours and while Westfield's did what they could, we still felt a lack of privacy given the mass of folks from the Indian wedding. Especially on Sunday morning when we had to individually carry each of the centerpieces, left over cake, wedding dress, etc. to our cars because there were enough rolling carts.

Westfields Marriot is a great venue, no other hotel looks like this one. You have the option of using the terrace for your ceremony or cocktail hour as well as in the indoor ballroom. The staff is great, they work with you and sit with you to make sure that things are exactly as you want them. My total score of this venue is negatively impacted by my early experience with the Westfields. I had 4 coordinators come and go within an 8 month contract period. I was not always notified that my coordinator had left until I wrote an email and it bounced. The last time was the last straw (and 2 weeks before the wedding), so I called and complained directly to the director of event services. I was then assigned a new event coordinator- Marissa Goessling. She was AMAZING!! She and the director of events handled the situation like true professionals! Great place to have your event. Catering managers will charge you for every small thing so be prepared. The service on the day of the event is great. Also if you are not paying for your guests room and have guests with the same name or a family member with the same name, make sure you are not being billed for their room. The issues we had dealt with were in organization and communication with our event coordinator at Marriott As we were planning the months before our wedding. It was difficult to get a hold of the people we needed information from and it just didn't feel like we were a priority, as all guests should feel (revolving door of weddings/events).
Fortunately everything worked so well on the day of, I had a private wedding planner who took care of everything! It is still a beautiful venue (our wedding was on the terrace) and would recommend others to use Marriott, but to keep in mind you may have to be pushy in your planning in order to have a fabulous event :)

The floor plan for the hall was terrible. It was long and narrow, with the band and dance floor at the front. only the first row could see us. The remaining people still complain that they were unable to see anything. We asked to move the band and dance floor to the middle of the room but they refused. It was four tables wide and 10 long. So the people at the back would have to look through 9 tables to see the dance floor and head table. I still don't believe that we could not have the dance floor in the middle just think it was more difficulf for them.

It is important to note that the floor moves. It is a suspended floor and it moves. The top level of the cake could not be put on for fear that it would fall off, thats how much it moves. The bride was scared for the first 30 minutes and the staff came running over to comfront her. It is an issue that they are aware of but failed to tell us about it until the wedding began and many people were scared.

Additionally, they told us that we would be able to set up at 5. They had a previous event and did not have the staff to turn the room over to us in time although they promised they would be able to. The food was pushed back 2 hours because of this. I also ordered severel veg meals and was told by several people that they ordered them and were told that they did not have any more.

Lastly, the require a credit card on file for the bill. Prior to the wedding everything went fine and they charged the first two installments. The last remaining until after the wedding. We left for the honeymoon and I got a call from the hotel stating that the credit card did not go through and they needed immediate payment.(I guess it could not wait a week until I got back from the honeymoon). They told us that they needed a certified check. I got a family member to drive over a certified check and upon its arrival, we were told that the credit card went through and that they no longer needed the check. Keep in mind that the hotel was not close by.

About a month affter being told that it was paid in full, I got an invoice from them stating that I need to pay an addtional $2000. Keep in mind this is a very small amount compared to the total amount of the wedding. I called and asked what the payment was for and they said it was for additional plates of food. I explained to them that I was told that it was paid in full and actually we had paid for more than they served. They called me back and said that they were sorry but actually they did not charge the credit card the appropriate amount initially. (Again with the credit card). I have since reviewed the invoice and they depited and credited the credit card so many times the credit card company began to decline their charges. We are talking about over 30 charges and one day, both credits and debits. Additinally there invoice was incorrect. Our initial contract called for a soda bar included in the price of the plate. They charged us a seperate fee for the soda bar (not the real bar). So their additional charge was incorrect to begin with. They still have a negative issue on my credit report (although it says that it is in dispute). Because of the above I can not recommend this venue. The hotel is nice but the management needs some help.

*my favorite charge was the $5 water bottle that was in the honeymoon sweet. The gave us champagne and choc strawberries but charged us for the water that was next to it. Got love it.
