This site is so beautiful! I am so happy I had my wedding reception here. My stars do no reflect this. There were several things that happened during the reception and in the days before that annoyed me.

The largest issue - the thermostat was set at 84 degrees Fahrenheit. I have a picture to prove it. I'm not sure why they thought it was a good idea to have it set at that temperature. All my guests were on the dance floor so it got even hotter. I pretty mush sweated through my dress. My dad took Lisa aside to talk to her about it and still nothing changed. It was so hot the speakers shorted out. My DJ had to run upstairs to reset them and pray they would reset. You might think, its an old house with old AC that just what you get. But no, I saw 5 HUGE Brand New AC units outside.

The bartenders were idiots. We had to buy the cups to use at the bar. We bought about 20 bags of wine glass plastic cups along with drink cups. Every single bag was open even if no cups were taken out so we could not return bags that were not used. We are also not sure if both were licensed bartenders since several guests only saw one bartender serving drinks and the other was cutting limes. They also did not know there were two kegs. So they did not tell people about one so we had a full keg left over. I didn't know I should have met with the bartenders in advance. I thought they would be good since WHR hired them.

Lisa, who is in charge, wore a white dress. (This is where the professionalism stars went) Also Lisa talked poorly about other clients to me that I'm sure she was just getting some stress off her chest but I felt it was really unprofessional.

The food was great. We had BBQ along with mashed potato casserole with lightly blanched green beans.

WHR had great recommendations for vendors. I used their photographer, DJ and florist. I had to use them for my cake, catering and rentals such as table clothes and chair covers.

The house is so beautiful. I wish these few things had run smoother. Knowing those things I probably still would have picked this location because I love the house so much. I'm sad for future brides that they won't be able to use this location since it is closing in October 2011.

The White House Ranch is a beautiful location. It's unique and elegant. Many commented that it was the most beautiful reception they had attended and that they felt like they were in a movie.

The night of the event went flawlessly. Lisa and her staff were on their A game. Also, in the days leading up to the the event, they were very helpful and accommodating.

The only challenge I had was with responsiveness to emails and phone calls. I shared this with the team and they made attempts to improve and were very professional in their response. If their staffing levels changed, they would very easily be able to overcome this challenge.

Because of the final experience and outcome, I would highly recommend others consider this location for their reception.
