We LOVED hosting our wedding at the Williamsburg Community Building! It’s such a sweet, beautiful location, nestled just off Colonial Williamsburg in the downtown/College area. It’s perfect for a smaller event or a big event if you want to include the large Community Green lawn area. The large patio makes for a great cocktail and mingling area and also perfect for an outdoor ceremony. The building itself is GORGEOUS with high, lofty ceilings and beautiful natural light pouring in everywhere. It is a blank slate so be prepared to create your event vision from the ground up, to include lighting or any décor. The City of Williamsburg staff and Building Managers are so easy and pleasant to work with – they really made the booking and set up a very simple process. This venue was perfect for us and we hope it will just as perfect for you!!

We LOVED hosting our wedding at the Williamsburg Community Building! It’s such a sweet, beautiful location, nestled just off Colonial Williamsburg in the downtown/College area. It’s perfect for a smaller event or a big event if you want to include the large Community Green lawn area. The large patio makes for a great cocktail and mingling area and also perfect for an outdoor ceremony. The building and surrounding landscape are beautiful.. nice and spacious! It has hardwood flooring, a full kitchen and storage area, several lighting options, including dimmers, automatic window shades and projection screen. It also has coat racks, two water fountains and large bathrooms. There is also a smaller room with a fireplace and greenish-blue carpet and 'floating' walls that can either be opened or closed to provide two separate rooms.

The building also provides rectangular tables and meeting style greenish-blue chairs with arms and will set them up according to your design. They also provide you with a scaled diagram for you to use when planning. We did rent our own chairs because we did not like the color/arms on the provided chairs.

The staff were quick to respond and professional. The building provides a clean up crew to come break down any tables chairs that belong to the building, sweep the floors and take out the trash. However, it is the clients responsibility to clean off the tables, wipe them down and remove everything that is brought inside the building before the cleaning crew arrives that night.

The building was everything we needed and very beautiful with our decorations. Exactly the right amount of space for a 70 person wedding! However, a DIY wedding only saved us about 1800 over our other location choice, the Colonial Heritage Golf Club, and it was a LOT LOT LOT of work, so if I had to offer one piece of advice, do NOT DIY unless you are doing something more simple like a backyard BBQ or a picnic at a park.. if you're going to rent a building, rent one that is all inclusive so THEY can do the work.. we worked the day before until 3am, then went back at 10am the day of and worked until 3pm.. with the ceremony at 5:30!!! Then we had to break down everything after it was over, so that was another 2 hours of work and we finally left about midnight!! Learn from others mistakes!!!

Our only complaint was the kitchen needs a little TLC. It has a full stove, microwave, fridge, sink, ice maker and lots of counter space and an extra table. However, the counters need a little love and the oven could use an automated cleaning cycle or two and the water doesn't get past lukewarm in the sink, so it's a little hard to actually 'clean' dishes.. but we got them rinsed and took them home to finish the job.

All in all, it was an EXCELLENT location!!
